  1. I read in a Guinness Book of Records that the record number of "G"s survived is 170 (yes, 170 "G"s). Basically some racecar driver crashed into the wall and decelerated from 100mph to 0mph on a distance of 3 feet. He was pretty messed up but survived. Some other guy was using sleds and putting himself through 80 "G"s (that was some kind of military experiment).
  2. Same happened to me!! It was a stupid feeling... Glad my container was there.
  3. Ok, I was just thinking about the break off on big ways (like 300-way, for instance). I hope it never happens but how about this: at 6000ft. jumper in the base pulls to signal the end of record attempt. He gets a bag lock. It stands him up. He looses the drag of his body, accelerates and goes through and below the formation (with the bag lock). What next??? P.S. I came up wuth this question after watching Mike Mcquire on "BreakAway", saying that you can go faster with the bag lock (due to less total drag) than in stable box position.
  4. I used to jump this equipement too. The container was called "Talka", main canopy was also called "Talka" and a reserve was called "Delta". The whole kit was called "TALKA". Got it, right?
  5. Really?!? So if someone had a reserve ride 300-way would not count?!? Someone told me that for the record to qualify all participants must be alive 24 hours (or something like that) after the record was set. Was he just pulling my leg?
  6. ... and is designed to hold larger canopies that could not fit in Micron.
  7. Check this site for "Drop Zone", "Point Break" and other skydiving movies. http://www.nitpickers.com/movies/titles/
  8. I think we can all learn some lessons from these movies...: Low pulls: 1.) http://para-net.org/paramag/archives/directlive/direct176/images/skyb.mov 2.) http://para-net.org/paramag/archives/directlive/direct188/images/manege.mov 3.) http://para-net.org/paramag/archives/directlive/direct177/images/temp.mov Premature openings 4.) http://para-net.org/paramag/archives/directlive/direct173/images/twist.mov 5.) http://para-net.org/paramag/archives/directlive/direct184/images/entrave.mov 6.) http://para-net.org/paramag/archives/directlive/direct191/images/moustache.mov 7.) http://para-net.org:8080/paramag/archives/directlive/direct194/images/anicroche.MOV
  9. Well, that pretty much answeres my question... Damn, I was started getting excited! You spoiled everything, Bill!
  10. A skydiving friend of mine said that he had seen a prototype of VECTOR 4 (being jumped at Chambersburg Skydiving Center, PA). He was quite positive it was a future Vector 4. Has anybody seen it? Any news? Or did he just see a different rig?
  11. There was a picture in Skydiving magazine some time ago - birdman tandem (both jumpers were wearing wingsuits). I think one of them was Vladi Pesa. Basically it was like a biplane.
  12. Unless you are flat tracking...

  14. Where?? When exactly?? Who is organizing? Any website on this??
  15. I could never understand how it works. How does the pin get outside this cover flap without opening it (during the deployment, while the PC pulls straight up on the bridle)?
  16. Couldn't have Bill patended this design (just like he did with 3-ring)?
  17. Yes, there was a different product called SKYHOOK. I think it was a teritary reserve.
  18. I was just wondering - without a guide ring, isn't it possible that a standard RSL will bend a reserve pin when pulling at a wrong angle? I always thought that that's why manufaturers inslude one or even two RSL guide rings (so that the ring direct a pull force "in line" with the reserve pin). I am just trying to become smarter skydiver...
  19. She jumps Infinity, you know...
  20. Plus, Dacron has more friction, so the slider descends little bit slower on these lines. This, combined with the lighter weight of brass slider grommets (instead of heavier stainless steel which can build more mommentum on their way down) may produce slightly slower/softer openings.
