  1. This (or similar) jump was on a 45-minute version (it is not on a 31-minute version) of 'Beyond Extreme'... And he dumped at terminal...
  2. Could you upload it to skydivingmovies.com?
  3. Because we want quality properly trained riggers working on our products. We have found that it is a win win situation. Since we build complete systems including container, main canopy, reserve canopy and tandem systems it gives a wide range of exposure and proper factory training to the rigger. We offer this for both existing and student riggers. In addition we offer free onsite tandem cross-certification on our tandem rigs. Cool

  5. I know that most reserve canopies weigh 5 pounds on the ground, but don't they weigh less when situated on the falling object (freefalling jumper). Their mass would still be the same, but their weight would be different in this freefalling environmnet, I think. It's like standing on a scale, being in an elevator that descends very quickly - I think our bodies weigh less then, since the "ground" or "base", and the scale is running away from our feet... I know that it is a theory and that reality check - Mike McGowan's movie - shows that wide bridles do not help much in this case, but I was just wondering...
  6. Rigging Innovations makes such bridles on their Talon rigs (and maybe Voodoo too). Basically, there are small assisting pockets on the bridle that should catch air, adding some drag. Another solution was an additinal reserve PC (with no spring in it) sewn to the bridle - the Catapult system on Reflex. Basically it was a huge pouch added to the bridle. It was a very controversial solutions, debated here many times...
  7. Inability of the wide bridle to extract a freebaged canopy has been shown in "Mike McGowan's Greatest Hits" movie.
  8. Was it really for real... I do not think so. I can do this trick too... And if you wand to levitate for real, click here for instructions, scroll down the page and click next to the levitating guy for an explenation... http://203.120.90.137/~guezs/magic/magic-new.htm
  9. OK, what would be the highest 'rock drop' exit point, meaning vertical object.
  10. Yup, it saved me once. Very light toogle pressure, not too hard landing for non ram-air canopy.

I saw one on "Mike McGowan's Greatest Hits" the one with an extremly low, not even full, reserve deployment. It looks like it was RSL activated and probably it saved jumper's life - at least it stood him up a little so that his feet took the impact first... How about a low collision, with anouter jumper inder and open parachute, that requires a low cutaway? How about a collision that results in a wrap? Well, maybe you will get out of a wrap so low that only RSL will save you if cutaway is still needed...

  20. Some info on friction here (straight from Bill Booth
  21. What if you can only get to this cheap plastic one, and it breaks... What I meant is that your reserve (knive or parachute or whatever) should be as good as your main (knive or parachute or whatever), or better . Just my 2 cents...
