  1. I know, I know. That's why I said I might be wrong... . It looked to me like this, too. However, I still wanted to make that safety remark, even if it does not pertain to this picture.
  2. Little bit of the topic here, but the reserve metal cable is too short on this rig (=the ball is to close to the top of reserve handle). At least that's how it looks like, looking closely at the picture, I may be wrong. Anyways, if the reserve cable is too short, there is no slack for "rig streches". There have been incinents where a reserve fired when somobody was bending on the groung with the rig on. Same can happen in freefall, of course. For the same reason, you should never tuck the cable ball into the reserve handle pocket velcro. Just my $.02
  3. Some Vectors and Eclispes have a third drogue release ripcord that goes through the cutaway handle, releasing the drogue in the event of a cutaway. So that isn't particular to Strongs. Hook Thanks for the info! I did not know about that...
  4. Gear design. Main and reserve canopies. Container design. The one advantage the Strong had over everyone else, drogue attachment location, was solved in the Sigma. Hook Also, cutting away on STRONG tandem rig automatically releases the drouge. I think it is a big advantage.
  5. I watched the "pclaunch.avi" movies located at ftp://ftp.skydivingmovies.com/public/cutaways/. It looks like the bottom reserve flap does not open and limits the full launch potential of the reserve PC (it looks like the reserve PC is suddenly stopped by that flap holding the reserve bridle). Any comments? Could it be dangerous in a real emergency?
  6. Now, that SUCKS! Probably Racer is the 'best' container when it comes to not covering reserve flaps (especially Racer Elite).
  7. And I will be jumping those Sigmas Chuck sends back for retrofit with complete confidence. In December Bill showed me the videos from the test jumps, spinning canopy cutaways and all. I am sold. Yes, whay can't we see these videos on www.relativeworkshop.com and be sold too?
  8. Why nobody makes a pull-out with the bridle attached to the TOP of PC instead of the BOTTOM? It would function just like standard pull-out (pulling pin first), but you would be able to throw it further away from your body (instead of how it is with current designs, where it inflates next to your body, gets extracted from your palm and can go back on your back)?
  9. How about pulling reserve handle first and cutaway second, fraction of second later? You are still pulling both handles, but the reserve first, so no time is wasted for reserve (an argument that "reserve only in PC in tow" often people bring up)?
  10. Isn't it against FAA rules? (having no oxygen above 15,000ft MSL).
  11. How do you compare the comfort level? 1. Are chest rings worth it? 2. Which hip rings are better (I am asking because they are oriented in a different way on Unisyn then on "normal" hip ring harness. Thanks, Bart
  12. Is it safe to skydive from 13,000ft with the ear plugs in your ears (if you forget to take them out)? I am asking because the air pressure equalizes betwwen nose and ear when you freefall and the ear plugs may be an obstacle in this process.
  13. Where can I get this video "Bad Day at the Office"? Can I buy it from any tandem gear manufacturer?
  14. Post some pictures of your G4's being worn, too!
  15. Why haven't I seen this option (Spandura) on any order form for a sport rig, if it is so great??? Just courious...
  16. If you could post the video on your website, that would be great!
  17. I am not sure... I am couple hours away from it.
  18. They are there now - just to let everybody know.
  19. It was the tallest/highest structure/thing ever erected by a human being (according to the Guinness Book of Records).
  20. Yes, it "WAS"... It collapsed about 11 years ago during maintenance. They said the noise was so loud when it hit the ground that all the windows in the houses in a close range were blown to pieces by the sonic wave... Someone also said the tip of the antenna reached the speed of sound when collapsing... I am Polish and was in Poland at that time. It was pretty famous at that time... Right now, I live in North Dakota, close to the current highest structure (a tower close to Fargo, over 2,000ft tall).
  21. Yes, I had it delivered to Poland for over 3 years and I have never been USPA member. Email them for details.
