Everytime I collapse my slider I take all the way down, I can't stand that flaping noise and last sunday remembered why. I thought that the loosen the chest strap was only for HP. Every day you learn something new

I agree with quade, know your gear. Only thing that you will never know unless you were there watching how they packed it, is the reserve, in that you will have to rely on your rigger. Remember rigger can make mistakes, they are humans after all. "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline

Thanks everybody for the great inputs. kallend I read that other thread but it didn't talked about collapsing or not collapsing the slider. My first subject was only about the slider but I took the advantage of a new thread to ask again about the long spot. (bandwith saver

I poste this on talkback but I heard a comment that I should post it here too. It's a reminder to everybody to remember to be gentle when you pack, what you pack is what you will get "to spank or not to spank" what do you prefer? At the time you pack remember to untwist the brake lines, set the brakes, reset the kill line PC, make sure that the lines are all clean and there is no knot or line over, make good cleaning of your cells, put the mouths in the middle, roll the tail tight, dedicate time to your packing. If suddenly you get a "I think that I forgot something" re-do your pack and start again, that extra time will not hurt, it will do good at opening. At the time to stow your lines if you use micro line make sure you put a double loop to the rubber bands, change the ones that look that can break, make sure you don't stow a line twist or a knot. Reset the kill line one more time before puting the D-Bag inside the container. Once the D-bag is inside make sure the risers are routed properly and cover them up, then close those flaps the way the manufacturer recommends and insert the closing pin in a tight closing loop. At the time of the PC make sure you pack it properly with a good bridle placement. The better you pack the more enjoyable will be your ride, less probabilities of emergencies and less probabilities for spanking. A bad opening can hurt you so bad that can leave you in land for quite a while or for days. I only propack, know other stile of packing? feel free to throw in your 2 cents. If am mistaking in anything please do correct me or add something else if its needed. Should I post this on another thread? PM me. Flamers put your flamethrowers down, please. It all really depends on who looks at you. The skydiving community thinks and likes tie die (how you spell it?) and I can bet that non-whuffos will think you are kewl, and whuffos will think you are uncool but ask them to jump out of a plane and see who is cool. mm... No wonder I can't get a girlfriend, I need to get into style, any advices for colors on a freefly pants? just in case: Its not a flame its just a nice post.

Hardest thing to do in my whole life was the time I had to put the colors to my pit special. "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline

Here is how I did it: goggles; container with reserve; main, altimeter, AAD; jumpsuit; weight belt, packing mat, slinks. Need to buy my helmet now. Had an old SCUBA gear bag that I use for my rig. "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline

Gotta go to a WFFC! hey can you PM me the name of the manufacturer? I would sure like to do business with him, maybe by a freefly pants or suit from him. (gonna use it for my fun relaxing non RW jumps) "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline

Get a freefly pants those are kewl! just a thought: long sleeve shirts (cotton) and long pants (cotton) tied at the bottom. It's the cheapest thing you can find and works well. Cotton or polycotton will give you a slower fall rate. Only problem with this is that you wont have grips. "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline

YOU HAVE A RESERVE NECK???? COOL!!!! Where can I get one of those? "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline

Congrats and how all the experience jumpers will say... BEEEEEERRRR!!!

If it can buckle up and you are 100% sure that it wont fall, it's ok, just make sure its not to heavy. The gath hat was used for surfing and if am not mistaken the frap hat too. "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline

Happened to me today, didn't had a bad spot but was very far from the spot and when I opened my canopy, I was kinda scared of collapsing my slider cause I thought that it would made my canopy fall faster and landing on another place (not to say water). It was a no wind day and I was very far (imagine how far, everybody was tracking to the same direction). What do you think of it? Did it made a difference or it would of been the same to collapse the slider? Any other advices for flying from a long spot? jumping spectre at a 1.15 wingload. This Q is mostly for the instructors and about the CYPRES, not just any AAD. Reading some posts, threads and other stuff made me wonder why would you use a student cypress if it can fire up high, or it can fire while landing the aircraft and you have to turn it off etc. Why don't you use the expert cypres for everybody isn't it safer that way? or When do you use expert cypress and when do you use student cypres in the AFF or S/L progression? 3:2:1 the 3 is for 2 good exits (finally, last 4 jumps were shit exits) and the other one is for having a quick look to broken bones and maybe broken neck, I landed 2 meters from the cliff (scared that hell out of me, had to made a cross wind landing, or else it was rock climbing day) Made 2 great jumps, 1 RW 2-way and the other was a 4 way donut. 1 case cause my first time jumping in shorts and t-shirt (I always use a jumpsuit, except this time) "Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?" drenaline
