  5. Congrats and beer on your gear! Ask a rigger and/or email altico (they answer very fast) and they will tell you if its ok. FYI I am using a 150 spectre main in a container suited for a 220 main and a 178 reserve and the container is suited for a 200 reserve. Model size is D-4. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  6. I like my boomerang is very comfortable and lets alot of air in, contrary to other comments mine never fogs, but for the "just in case" I use the antifog solution every 10 jumps and just a couple of drops (hope it doesnt' expires). I use mine on RW, thanks to it I still have my chin (long story
  7. Congrats Andrea! As a prize I will send you a package. Inside will have a signed picture of me naked, a case o' beer and a jump ticket. I promise the jump ticket if we ever get to meet. (there is no way I will be getting the hot fork treatment ) HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com

  11. I am not a freak aka freeflyer but post your head down speed (if you can get a protrack) or ask a experienced freeflyer to jump with you and then ask him if you need less or more speed and then post it here so the experienced FREAKS can give you advice on materials. Materials affect the speed you fall. edit line: If you can get somebody to jump with you and you dont have a protrack its ok, post your weight (real one! ) and it should give them a clue for a better advice. 13. What kind of lines are you using? dacron lines affect pack volume. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  14. IMO There is actually no need to wash the container, its kinda waist of time, money and can wear the fabric. But if you still want to do it go here www.relativeworskshop.com and search that website, somewhere in there you will find an article on how to do it. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  15. The skydiving motto: "it only takes ONE jump" to make your life miserable. We are very strict with safety even more strict than some dz's in the US. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  16. Hiya quade, Thanks for the thread link, took a look at it but its not that informative. We don't have PRO rating skydivers (they have the skills to get it but they don't have the money or time to go to the US and get it). In the old days (10 years ago) they used to jump with a smoke canister that was activated like a hand grenade but was to hot and they had to tie it (don't ask me how) to the sole of the boot cause it was to hot to do it in any other way so they ask me the favor of asking some info about the new models of smoke cans and how you do it now. I will not jump that thing, NO thanks!
  17. Next year we are celebrating the 100 year of aviation and the 100 year b-day of panama (I think, am bad in history) and there are some thoughts of jumping with smoke. My question is: How does it work? how and where you strap them? is it hot or cold smoke? dangers of jumping smoke? when and how you turn them on? additional advices? Who sells them (only store I know is paragear)? FYI it will only be jumped by 600+ jumps skydivers. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  18. Years ago in a 100-way 2 points record, the skydivers exited in a bad spot, almost all the 100-way had to land in the golf course, stores parking lots etc. I think my friend told me it was in Z-hills (he landed in the parking lot). Bad spots do exists. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  19. we get about 2 jumps on the week ends, so the closing loop doesnt wears that much. The rigger changes it when he repacks the reserve but if I or somebody else sees it worn out I will change it. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  20. was it a kill line PC? just curious. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  21. aint gonna tell you what to do, just read what happened to me and make your own conclusions since you might be a different pilot than me, the things that happened to me will or will not happen to you, thats for you to choose. after 17 jumps in a 230 sq ft PD 9 cell I changed to a spectre 150 to a wingload of 1.25, first jumps (10 first jumps) on the new high wingloads were biffs (one of those gave me a scoliosis (twisted spine) and now am in therapy), the next 40 jumps I landed off (the spot was good but the canopy pilot sucked), now I have about 65 jumps and am flying my spectre in a sweet way, getting some swoops, flying fast and I love it with nice pillow soft stand up landings. Not telling you what to do, but recommendations: get a 170 zp with collapsible slider, a kill line pc and microline if you want the speed (and learn how to use the risers, front and rear), there is no deal or fun with a broken spine. 22. Good thing you came out alive bro. I still need a friend to use for target practice at pool . just some suggestions, next time try to slide using the side of your body, something like a PLF, protect the face, head and reduce the risk of pulling the reserve silver handle. Rounds always goes in the direction of the wind. >Didn't want to turn low Try flat turns or flared turns, helps alot. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  23. Thats correct, I hope everybody could find it in theyr minds how to post answers with a teaching tone and not a flamethrower sarcastic tone. btw if you are sarcastic and the person really has no clue about the thing you are answering he will most likely do it, remember its different to read a sarcastic tone than to hear it (if you hear it you know its sarcastic, if you read it you might never know). HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  24. Not to flame or give you a hard time but aren't you supposed to pull red before pulling silver? or at least pull them both at the same time? good think everything turned out fine. Blue ones bro, now go have a beer HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
