  2. I bought and jumped my first rig when I had 15 jumps. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  3. Hey Bill! Hope you get to build that "small" formation Lotsa Blue Skies for everybody mate! HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  4. Or better yet the sound of 300 canopies opening, that should make a nice thunder! HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  5. I have never jumped a Tri but I own a spectre and been jumping it for about 55 jumps and gotta tell ya I love that thing! I had a neck injury years ago and I need it a canopy that opened nice, so I read the classifieds and went for the spectre, that thing forgives almost any pack and its easier to pack than a 9 cell. My wingload is a 1.2 and its fun to play with. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  6. >>I'm going to disagree about the Monarch, sure its a great canopy, but why go with old technology that constantly opens hard when there is better stuff out there? A friend at the DZ jumps one, he says he gets soft on heading openings. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  7. We don't joke to much to the tan students, we only say: "Who is the victim? so is he going to live or is it going to be the same like the one before him?" with a very serious look in our faces. On the plane ride up we don't joke, we let them concentrate on the dive and fart like crazy (you should see the looks on theyr faces when they start to smell the farts), we usually try to eat beans the day before the tandem. One of the students wanted to kick me out cause of the farts. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  8. Sabre2 (semi elliptical), spectre (if you like semi elliptical 7 cell), monarch (square) and with proper wingload a cobalt (elliptical, email cobaltdan or call him to help you decide what wingload can be good for you). Readers don't flame me with the cobalt, cobaltdan himself told me that with a good wingload it can be used for newbies. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  9. I am not an skydiving instructor but I am a scuba diver divemaster and I love to help students. Teaching is great gives you an oportunity to give something back, knowledge. Another good thing of teaching is that it keeps you current with all the info cause you are always teaching it and remembering it, its almost impossible to forget. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  10. It can cause a bit of a problem if it hits somebody even without the leds. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  11. Whateva canopy you choose please make sure you get a proper wingload for your skills, for that you should ask a skilled canopy pilot or you instructor to see you fly. Answers can vary from bad, so-so, newbie, good and excelent (if you get excelent take it with a grain of salt and ask somebody else). Once you know what wingload you will need you will be a step closer to choosing canopy size. or skymedic HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  12. when in doubt is better to stay home, drink and have sex. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  13. email Paragear they have absolutely everything but all they sell is expensive. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  14. go for pants, for all the reasons said above. Save some money for more jumps HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  15. I dunno if what am going to say has any value but I use a dolphin and when I opened my reserve for the repack the spring PC jumped to the ceiling not to the back. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  16. I know that USPA has a coach course for those wanting the rating but I have also heard that there is a Skydive U coach course so my question is which one is better? should I set a goal to get both certifications or only the USPA one? is it worth to get the skydive U one? The USPA one is a must cause I want to someday in the future get my AFF-I. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  17. That goes both ways, BASE and Skydiving! wise words Tom. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  18. I thought it was part of the job, to open and repack everything. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  19. for flexibility try yoga and regular exercise (walking, running, aerobics etc.). practice arching in front of a mirror for 25 times in a row. ie. arch hold it for 10 secs. dearch relax, arch again 10 secs. dearch relax. That will create the muscle memory you need, and its best if you try it every day and or before the jump. Don't think that, focus on the dive not on the one holding you. 20. Yeah was thinking about that after posting it, I think would of been better "if you buy a used container that doesn't includes a kill line..." thanks for the correction Lisa. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  21. I jumped a PD 9 cell 220 for my first 15 jumps, then downsized to a spectre 150 biggest mistake of my life. Sure now after 20 biffs one fucked up spine and a grass diet (good thing I wear full face or else my teeth would of been tinted green with brown) I get to land and swoop the spectre but was it worth it? NO! 70 jumps on my sleeve and am already fucked up. Ouch!! gotta go take some pills spine still hurting... HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com

[whistles innocently] *ahem* I dunno *coughyes* what you are talking about. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  23. bben go for the 190, don't push it. I did it and now I have screw up spine (scoliosis), getting nervous to visit the doctor again, I think he will tell me no more jumps... HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  24. go for the Kill Line PC, nobody knows but if you win a new container you will have to buy a kill line. Better buy the kill line now and you can pass it to any other container. I only see disadvantage, getting a finger traped on a 360 front riser hook... (happened to a friend of mine luckily he got it out just in time to back riser, toggle flare, yep he landed whiter than white). HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  25. well using the USPA rule it says 120 days same as reserve but I feel kinda nervous after 2-3 weeks so I do a main re-pack after 3 weeks. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
