  1. That sounds like a type of tool that could be used for some obscure woodworking process. But then it'd be "Pull the erse out of your head" So Nac, I take it you do not suffer from office equipment envy ? -- ZZZzzzz....
  2. Well, that is part of the thrill with road head. Air head is the ultimate, of course. It is not part of the pilot's licence cirriculum, but may be considered as an advanced option. To fit in with the office environment, desk head may also be considered if you have a big desk or (in your case), a small dodo. -- ZZZzzzz....
  3. I've found that couch head is the most comfortable, whereas road head is great when you're feeling adventurous . -- ZZZzzzz....
  4. I don't own any cool office equipment. I use a small hand drill to make holes in paper. You should see what my desk looks like from where I drilled through the paper and into the crappy laminated surface. In civilized countries where we measure things in meters and millimeters, two or four hole punches are standard. I have never even seen a three hole punch in my life. I struggled just now to find a 1/4 inch stainless steel screw. The guys on the floor keep trying to fit M6 screws instead, damaging the equipment. All of this makes me curse folks who measure things in inches. And use punches with odd numbers of holes. And what the hell is "letter format" paper? What is an E sheet format? A4 and A0 is much easier to understand. Rant over. Blue skies and happy punching . -- ZZZzzzz....
  5. Either that or a dynamite candle. What is an ear candle anyway? Is it anything like a foot candle? About your signature line, do you mean that you never had a passport, or that you lost it? -- ZZZzzzz....
  6. When I am ill, a dish called "Shurpa" works wonders. Especially for colds and flu. But when I am sick, there's no telling what..... -- ZZZzzzz....
  7. Well, you keep insisting on lending your ears to fools... -- ZZZzzzz....
  8. Point me to the link? [Dodging bullets] -- ZZZzzzz....
  9. I will post the link for those interested as soon as someone points me to it. Dodgy link, JT.
  10. [Light Hearted] Hmmm.... so y'all say! -- ZZZzzzz....
  11. And now for the one dissenting voice. Well, it's not that I would say "fu@k an AAD", it's a personal choice. Look at it like this - while you're freefalling (without an AAD), you are dead in a way. You are dead until you take the actions required to live, and pull. I would never, for a split-second, consider not pulling, but I like the feeling. Well, unto each his own. Since I married about 16 months ago, I have been giving it some thought. And if I get into RW again seriously, I will probably buy one. Or if it becomes a regulation. However, in my 300 and some jumps I have never jumped with an AAD. Not even as a student. -- ZZZzzzz....
  12. I used to get hard openings as well, and after much discussion, it was found to be due to something called "line dump", which is something you supposedly get from stowing too loosely. I used tube stows, but has since switched to regular rubber bands, that solved the problem. I don't double-stow, though. I just use a rubber band that is the right length. The first two (excluding the closing ones) have to be somewhat longer, as the lines are double the thickness for a meter or so below the canopy before they join up. -- ZZZzzzz....
  13. Is a "bootie fly" a stand-up as I know it? In that case I have also never been able to get there directly after exit. My theory is that the relative wind changes direction too much in the first 6 seconds or so. Would be interesting to try it from a balloon to see if that theory is correct. -- ZZZzzzz....
  14. That really is a perfect moment. edit after looking at the pic again: So why is she maintaining her shape so perfectly? Still well sub-terminal? -- ZZZzzzz....
  15. edit: see http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=425359;#425359 I am still misunderstood here. Nothing I said was thinly veiled at all. I did not mean to criticise anyone in particular, just voice a general tiredness with the one line (and mostly offensive) responses that are so frequent in all the war threads. I thought that the rule was "No personal attacks" anyway? But I may be wrong. I usually am. -- ZZZzzzz....
  16. They would be wrong then. (edited to insert: to assume that it is aimed at them in particular.) Just getting a little fed up with the direction most threads are taking. My apologies to anyone unintentionally offended. -- ZZZzzzz....
  17. Nice shots! I especially like the second last one, where you can see the plane reflected in the goggles. It is such a perfect moment, if someone else posted it I might have called photoshop ! -- ZZZzzzz....
  18. Yes, at times like this it is easy to forget what life is really about. Thanks! -- ZZZzzzz....
  19. Further reading.... http://edition.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/03/23/sprj.irq.britain.plane/index.html -- ZZZzzzz....
  20. Do what my wife usually does in a case like this: Find somebody to give you a nice neck and shoulder massage. Well, needless to say I have become quite good at this massage thing - she says I bring it over myself by being such a pain in the neck. -- ZZZzzzz....
  21. Mike, You would not be trolling for a feminist response here, would you? Maybe you are a Masochist, looking for an a$$-kicking, yes? Either way, I am sure you are going to bathe in a fiery hell of PM's..... -- ZZZzzzz....
  22. Wendy, See it as an exercise in Suffering Fools. These days I really have to control myself not to respond scathingly to all the cr@p that is posted, but I think that the question we need to ask ourself is whether people with such simple thought processes will even understand criticism if they are confronted with it. They are basic stimulus-response types, and at the moment they are reacting to the stimuli they are receiving in the only way they know - growing spikes. Again, double . -- ZZZzzzz....
  23. Without having to browse through all the other threads, what happened to your shoulder? Baking accident ? -- ZZZzzzz....
  24. Oh. I thought this might be about me, but I am sad to see that it is just another war related thread . -- ZZZzzzz....
  25. In cases like that it is the owner that should be shot. No animal can be held accountable for his actions. But I guess you did what I would have done in your place. -- ZZZzzzz....
