Current situation here: CEO says to save save save... Then, CEO orders himself one of the new camera phones, which no one else is allowed to have. He then demands that the telecomm folks supply him with additional batteries and chargers. Acceptable for the extra hardware? yes, one charger for home and one for the office, maybe a spare battery right? Wrong. One for home, One for office, One for each of his three cars, One for his NY office. Also, two spare batteries per location. So the rundown: 3 desk chargers 3 car chargers 7 batteries How's that for saving money? btw, IT budget for next year is being cut another 5$ million from 55$ and 72 jobs (out of 372) are being eliminated. Just to prepare, I've started moving all my personal documentation that others don't know how to do offsite - have to horde the knowlege... ----- ~~~Michael

and it gets REALLLLLY dark there when the sun goes down at 6:04 P.M. It came down to sky or scuba...Since I wasn't going to be on Oahu, scuba won out. Besides, didn't want to drag two set of toys with me. The scuba gear was enough... Ummmm, that's what the hottubs and champaign are for at the end of a long day of skiing or boarding. In most cases, a panel truck is usually a delivery truck. If you're working and you've got a ton of stuff in there, here's the advantage. 1. The cops will unload the truck for you, and maybe (doubtful) will help you reload it. 2. Since it's the company truck, you're getting paid. 3. It took them a while to unload it, they refused to help you reload it so you have to do it by yourself. 4. Overtime means more jump money... If it were my person truck, I'd probably refuse. Any of the lawyers out there know of a precidence where the cops could search all vehicles of a description without a warrant? ----- ~~~Michael

When the first company website came online, it took me all of about 25 minutes to hack into it and modify the front page from home. I wasn't part of the project so I didn't have any knowlege of the setup. The web group wasn't too pleased. Their "security" guy was canned pretty much on the spot. Got offered the job but didn't take it. Didn't want to be that high profile. Those people don't tend to stay around long. ----- ~~~Michael

OK...So what the hell. I had to be the opposite of geekgirl Bytch and be geekboy Michael. Did the search and actually came up as hit number 5,6,7 & 10. #5 was backpacking across Europe advice I gave a couple years ago. #6 was the staff page at the DZ. #7 was the customer page at skydivewings.com & #10, the contact page for Ground-Rush.com. Interestingly, nothing came up for the WFFC, although I don't use my last name there so it wouldn't be picked up. If I do the same search and toss in 'skydive', I come back in the first ten hits. Definately a way to inflate anyone's ego beyond belief. ----- ~~~Michael

A friend of mine back in IL has a theory that is simply this. He'll walk through the bar (probably get slapped a few time though) and ask the ladies if the want to go home with him and fuck. The amazing part it, and I've seen it happen, he's generally successful... ----- ~~~Michael
