Frontpage = Bad (MS Frontpage has a tendancy to put in additional coding and changes things without the programmers knowlege) Homesite is a good tool and it's generally my editor of choice. ----- ~~~Michael
  2. Post a message on the Freefall.com message board as well. If they're out there, you'll find them. BTW, I count 2 cases of beer that you owe. Haven't you learned not to admit these premier things yet? Bluez~~~ Michael Webmaster Michael@Freefall.com ----- ~~~Michael
  3. Saw one of these about 5 years ago in Paris. I've got a few (bad) pictures somewhere - plane was too far away and I didn't have a zoom. They're weird looking... ----- ~~~Michael

There are more pieces to the puzzle than people are making up in their heads...Here's a repost of a message that was on the WFFC message board from Scott Schwarz of Kalitta Air. BTW, both had approval from their insurance carriers prior to their announcement as confirmed jumpships... Bluez~~~ Michael Webmaster Michael@Freefall.com 08/25/02 16:12:51 sent from spider-ntc-tc034.proxy.aol.com Hello Y'all: My name is Scott Schwarz and I was to be the Captain on the B-727 doing drops at the 2002 WFFC. I wuz just cruisin' and thought I would look at the message board to see what I missed... There seems to be som mis-information circulating on this board. I am the Standards Captain for the B-727 at Kalitta Air and the guy who did most of the work on performance capabilities at Rantoul, as well as much of the interface with the FAA and Don. We were all set to go and had a verbal committment from the insurance underwriters that we would be covered for the event. Three days before we were to leave for Rantoul, the *&%%ing underwriters informed us that they were withdrawing coverage for the event. SHIT! We did a mad scramble to try and find other coverage, but there just was not enough time to pull it off. Hopefully, we can get something sorted out for next year. Sounds like I missed one hell of a party. In response to some of the naysayers about the ability of the B-727 to operate in and out of Rantoul, you just don't know what your talking about. With the larger, -15 powerred, engines on the plane we could takeoff at 142,800 pounds on a 94 degree day at Rantoul. The airplane weighs about 92,000 pounds and we need about 9,000 pounds of fuel for one complete circuit (two 45 second jump passes). That leaves 41,800 pounds for skydivers and 'chutes. My high school math says that is enough weight to carry about 220 skydivers with clothing and about 235 naked. Either way, that is more than we can fit inside the plane, with only 180 seatbelts. Hope to see you all next year... Scott L10FR8DOG@aol.com ----- ~~~Michael

  17. Did anyone happen to record it? I was a bonehead and didn't set the VCR up right - recorded something else... Thanx~~~ ----- ~~~Michael
  18. Drugs may or may not have been the cause of this or any accident. Now, could they have added to the chain of events that would have ultimately caused this? Definately. There are many pieces that ultimately add to an incident. It's removing the links in the chain to keep the skydive safe. ----- ~~~Michael

    New Baby

Very kewl...But don't want to burst your bubble, be prepared for lots of maintenance costs and lots of time waiting to get it in the shop. Several people here at work have BMW's and they're constantly in the shop. Good solid vehicle to get in a wreck in, but not very reliable otherwise. ----- ~~~Michael
  21. OK. Let's try this. Would you rather strap your significant other/child/brother/sister/friend to the front of a TM that you know is drug free and is a very competent individual, or strap them to a known over abuser (also a friend mind you) of the weed but also a very competent individual. With a substance that has been proven to impair one's abilities, I know what I'd choose. I guess what I'm trying to bring across is this, if you are responsible for the safety of others, shouldn't you do the responsible thing and not bring items into your personal or work life that will put others at risk? Just because someone might have an alcohol problem and they're watching the kids one day doesn't mean they're not going to take the kids to the bar, have a few and then try not to wrap themselves around a telephone pole on the way home. It's called responsibility - Try it. Michael ----- ~~~Michael
  22. In a land with too many attorneys, random testing is almost equal to preventative maintenance. Just because everything seems normal with no issues, doesn't mean that there couldn't be a potential problem down the road. Isn't it better to be aware of something and address it before something worse comes along? Michael ----- ~~~Michael
  23. There's a fine line here. No, I don't care for censorship or invasion of privacy. What I do care about is #1. Me. If I'm entrusting my happy a$$ to someone whether it be a TM, AFF JM, airline pilot, cruise ship crew, whatever, I want these people to be clean an on the straights. By taking these positions, people have entrusted in you their very lives and wellbeing. If you neglect this responsibility by taking a couple hits before going to work, you've impaired your ability. If you screw up and I get hurt, don't worry about my attorney. I will find you myself. Taking a job as a computer developer, as long as the job can be done, imho, does not require a drug test. Side note: Quark (Desktop publishing software company) was at one point going to initiate random drug testing until they found out how many of their developers actually smoked a little hit every now and then. They have since abandoned this policy. This opinion is mine and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of anyone at the WFFC. Michael ----- ~~~Michael
  24. If you know of any plane you'd like to see at the WFFC and know how to contact the owner, email it to me and I'll pass it along to see if Don can convince them it will be fun to come. Bluez~~~ Michael Webmaster Michael@Freefall.com ----- ~~~Michael
