  1. Weather must be good...Must get video of crazy stunt out of balloon...Will be made at mother nature...maybe not...I think woman and wrath might come with her anger...nevermind... ----- ~~~Michael
  2. Yes and no. The simple explanation. It's Sangrio's sandbox. His rules. Play by them, or don't play. Messages do take space on the server and simply put, space = money. Not knowing the underlying pieces of the message board, it might start to cause issues if the thread gets too big. Bluez~~~ Michael A greenie other places... ----- ~~~Michael
  3. If you jinx my balloon jump saturday morning I'm gonna be a little peeved...I'm thinking that rappelling into freefall will be pretty cool so hang on to that snow theory until after I'm back on the ground. BTW, the current prediction on the storm is for the mountains only... ----- ~~~Michael

    lowest pulled

1200...Was on my back doing a video out of a balloon and the subject was supposed to pull first...When they finally remembered this, the dumped, I rolled over and dumped...A later eval of the video showed my alti just under 1200. Cypress was (intentionally) off. ----- ~~~Michael
  5. Ummm...Since the beginning of 2000, my 401k is down 74.7%. So, doing the math, if I would have used the money to buy a new rig then, and sold it now, I'd still be in a better spot than my 401k...But I'm buying more shares now than then so hopefully they start going up instead of down. Why worry now though. Not going to retire for another 30+ years... ----- ~~~Michael

  7. Nah...We just gave up because it wasn't that much of a challenge and the media didn't play the way we wanted. (pulls souvenier took off shelf) ----- ~~~Michael
  8. Yes it is more difficult, but timing is everything. I actually went back to school (after 10 years) to start working on a degree. And only because it's required to get into the school of business, first computer class was "Introduction to Computers". Turned in all my projects the second week of class and showed up for the final after discussing my qualifications with the instructor... The No Degree Webmaster... Michael ----- ~~~Michael
  9. sounds like he needs an earlier bedtime and you should clean your beer bottles up before you go to bed... ----- ~~~Michael
  10. Today...Yes...It's been quiet. I think I need to go bounce a server to give me something to do. The 600 users on it shouldn't mind one bit. Besides, it my server not theirs... ----- ~~~Michael
  11. Well, I think the question should be "Is there really a tomorrow?". Let's look at the possibilities. We could all agree that yesterday was the day prior to the one we're currently working with and "the other day" used to be a yesterday at some point. Tomorrow, by defination is Today + one. At 12:00A.M. Tomorrow arrives... Or does it??? 12:00A.M. still is today and Tomorrow arrives, in theory, again at 12:00A.M. or maybe it was yearning to arrive and really didn't (doesn't?). Ouch...too much brain power on this one. If tomorrow really does arrive at some point, let me know so I'll know to be good.
  12. There's a flash version of this same thing somewhere...lemme see if I can find it... ----- ~~~Michael
  13. Try here. You'll need to plug in the city that you want the weather for, and go to that page. on the 2nd page, left side, you'll see the gizmo you're looking for. There are others out there on different weather sites, this is just the one I like and use... ----- ~~~Michael

  15. Fuck Sangrio! Sorry...The Rodriguez Brother in me just snuck out... ----- ~~~Michael
  16. It's all in the delivery. As a landlord, it's in my lease agreement that trash not be allowed to sit outside, etc. If you're in a covenant controlled community, it's very possible that your landlord got a notice from the HOA that was a bit threatening. You may want to pull out your lease and read all the fine print and you might be suprised by what you see. ----- ~~~Michael
  17. Had something similar a few weeks ago. It's posted here. Basically, and it can be seen in the video when slowed down, the brake line stow was pushed over the top of the grommet in the toggle. Made mental note to beat packer when I got to the ground. ----- ~~~Michael
  18. Yep...I think we'd be too tempted to get out on the way to work... I can see the phone call now... You: Boss, I won't be in today. Boss: What's going on now? You: I fell out of the car again... ----- ~~~Michael
  19. I can afford a lot more than I do. Most of my jumps happen at the freefall convention - 55 this year. At the home DZ, I generally jump 2-4 times per month if I get done working early. I'm also on every available balloon load that happens in this state. Only missed two so far... ----- ~~~Michael
  20. Ummm, that would constitute sexual harassment...oops...I forgot...this is a bunch of skydivers...Pinch away!!! ----- ~~~Michael
  21. Just prepping to catch some video for a balloon jump next weekend. Spent some time in the climbing gym learning how to rappel...Will post video if it's successful... ----- ~~~Michael
  22. I got one similar the other day. didn't think much of it and didn't have any intrusions on the firewall. ----- ~~~Michael
  23. I can see several sides of the issue since I (on a lesser scale) do similar things as HH. Ground-Rush.com has yet to put a dime into my pocket. Still battling with a vendor for an unpaid advertising invoice and thinking of referring it to an attorney to collect as they pissed me off the last time I called.. Freefall.com does not put a dime in my pocket either. The actual compensation compared to the time that I and the rest of the Freefall.com webteam (Cajones & Chango Rodriguez for their webcam work) put into Freefall.com is insanely nothing. Why do we all do it? It's just a different way that we give back to the sport and it's kinda fun. An ocassional 'kickback' from appreciative users (unsolicited) would be a nice way to say 'thank you' for the hard work and time that we all put into the various skydiving info sites online. If the funding is not there to pay the 'basic bills' of a website (isp, DSL, etc.) they tend to go away when the webmaster gets burned out...Some of the nasty emails I rec'd after I was informed the 727 was not going to be at the convention were, well to be polite, entertaining. I also rec'd many more of support and they were appreciated. Meeting some of the DZ.com members at the Convention was Great! I will be doing Freefall.com another year and the Webteam will is working on some really cool toys (and possibly an internet cafe) for next year already. Version 2003 of Freefall.com is scheduled to be online 1.1.2003... Just my 2.5 cents (adjusted for inflation) Michael Webmaster www.Ground-Rush.com www.Freefall.com ----- ~~~Michael
