  1. My absolute favorite is the Neverending Story one
  2. Then you and your computer both have something in common Dan - how about a DVD for sale? It's a huge file for most peoples computer to handle (although mine did fine but that's because it's better than Stu's ) Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  3. Great job Dan and Christy. If you guys are making DVD's let me know! Performance Designs Factory Team
  4. God I love that show..... Performance Designs Factory Team
  5. Yep - looks like the same incident that happened at our DZ (Last year I believe it was) - Except that one was at terminal and blew out the entire front right riser line group - scarey stuff but amazingly the jumper survived. I have video of the inspection somewhere. At the time it was concluded that the hitch occurred because of packing error (slack lines) - seems like this is the same situation. edit: I think it's a testimony to the canopy that the jumper was still able to survive after such a failure. This is in no way a negative reflection on Flight Concepts or their product (Just wanted to be clear)
  6. So you would "honor" Ted's memory by trying to do something he was apparently so very much against? Motorcycle helmets are not required in all states. At a competitive level it is required by a governing body - not the government - just like the PST, CPC and any canopy piloting competition I've ever attended has REQUIRED. Incidently, while off topic, if you think motorcyclists are a lower risk demographic you need to do some research in that area. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. I see "personal agenda". Having lost people close to me I can understand your grief (and anger) but you really need to realized that Ted made his decisions as an adult (right or wrong doesn't matter) and that is something we cannot, and should not legislate. In the end it's a simple matter of personal accountability AND accepting the risks we take. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  8. You lost me. What does someone making their first jump have to do with Ted's decisions? Not sure what point you're trying to make here? Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. Steve - seems to me like you're intentionally misinterpreting the OP's actions so you can go off on your soapbox again and ride the persecution train into the sunset.... I mean really it's very clear that the OP was trying to remind us all of a lesson that seems to continuously 'slip through the cracks' (typically by people ignoring it). Sure, the OP could have omitted the persons name - but then again that just makes them another nameless entity and a statistic - instead of a once living, human being capable of making the same bad decisions as the rest of us. How bout, instead of getting up in arms about it all, we go and reread the thread and see if we're exhibiting any of the characteristics that Ted did? If not, great, and if so then fix them in ourselves. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. Steve, Very true. However the ones who truely understand that it can happen to any of us are the ones who worry about others - especially those who display the attitude of "I'm special or too good for that to happen". If you're not thinking that it can happen to you (and believing it) you're not looking for the signs that it IS happening to you. The choice is far less of a concern than the attitude. 11. READ THIS And I don't mean glance over it. Go through that thread and REALLY read it - draw comparisions to yourself (honestly) and see where you fit in. There are a lot of good lessons there. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  15. A response of yours quoted below: Look to me like Frost and Beowolf were right and that you were just shopping for the answer you wanted. Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. Probably a turn on for French Canadians then..... Performance Designs Factory Team

  21. ROFL ... WTF did you post this in the swooping forum? Yeah it's the swoopers who cause all the problems out there huh? Go ahead and say it ... ban swooping and all the problems in skydiving will be solved ... except that there are still far too many people out there who are clueless as to how to fly their damn canopies. Don't worry dude ... I've got this gnarly 23 way hybrid eveyone is just dying to try. Let's just wing it. It's all about the freefall isn't it. Steve, I believe the OP was referring to the NON-SWOOPERS as the ones getting a talking to for not following the pattern. Regardless, the fact that the dz stopped operations to fix the problem (be it HP or not) is a good sign that DZO's are taking the problem more seriously than the BSR proponents would like everyone to believe.
