Dee asked me to let everyone know how she was. She went to the hospital last night and was x-rayed. She has broken her pelvis on the left side with a stable fracture - any shifts could put her in traction so she is on bed rest for a week. After that she will be walking with a cane. She also has a small crack in her foot but it is minor. No surgery is required on either break. At this time the recovery time is unknown, but she has been told at least 2 months. For those who saw the accident I think we can all agree that the injuries could have been a lot worse. Heal fast Dee (and post X-rays)

CPC/PST 2007 Finals - Colorado
ianmdrennan replied to ianmdrennan's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
There was a competitor weighing 302 under a XAOS 118. If Big Steve from Atlanta was there you'd have a competitior loading a Velo 120 at 2.7 Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Since you already open relatively high, your best bet (with the wind at your back on a Sabre2) is deep brakes IMO. For into the wind full flight is almost always preferable to double fronts in most scenarios. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Sounds to me like your man-pri's are on too tight and cutting off circulation to your balls...... Of course, if you're just scared of SunnyDee kicking your ass (as you should be), just come out and say it Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -

Velocity? Future? Competition Regulations?
ianmdrennan replied to CKSCUBA's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
that is a very BOLD statement Ian. Huh? Just saying I've done the 'testing' stuff before and didn't like it much - remember all the line/trim changes that I was messing with? It's a pretty simple statement. I want good R&D and I'd rather have someone else be the test pilot until the major kinks are worked out. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Velocity? Future? Competition Regulations?
ianmdrennan replied to CKSCUBA's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I don't think so. I have no desire to pay 2.5-3g's to be a test pilot for any of these companies unless they pay me to do so. I'd rather have a polished product at the end, which has a much lesser chance of being the next 'Nova'. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Velocity? Future? Competition Regulations?
ianmdrennan replied to CKSCUBA's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Stu, I think he means from a competition regulation stand point. Personally I think the sport is too small, currently, to limit what you can participate under. One day, if we ever get big enough then I think addressing these issues will be necessary but for now I have no issue with it. Would I like all the new toys, sure! Will not having them stop me from competing....not at this stage! The sport is too small to make any respectable amount of money. For most of us it's about seeing old friends, competing together again, and cheering each other on...and that includes those flying 'different' wings. So really, if Jay-mo kicks the shit out of me under an XB, I don't really care -
Perfect! Thanks! Performance Designs Factory Team

Velocity? Future? Competition Regulations?

How does this Velocity on steroids relate to the competition canopies the PDFT guys are jumping? Besides scaling adjustments (wing sizes) I believe the wings are the same. Of course, that's not to say they won't continue to improve the wing Blues. Performance Designs Factory Team -

CPC/PST 2007 Finals - Colorado
ianmdrennan replied to ianmdrennan's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Honestly, as a learning experience I think the CPC finals will be better. There'll be a LOT more competitors both on the pro and cpc level and the knowledge transfer and exposure to different techniques will be higher. That said, either will be fun -
