  1. Yep - but they cascade their HMA lines so there's a difference in drag compared to the vectran. The continous line sets using HMA IMO offer little to no drag advantage because there are more lines. See you in 2 weeks dude!! Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  2. I'm sure we'll do a couple. Dave Brown is up for whatever we want. I'd definately like to get some nice sit/hd dives up in the air too! Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  4. I know of at least 1 person (know him personally) who had just over/under 300 jumps on his xaos and had his HMA brake line snap with no warning. If this happened on landing it may have been the case of yet another xaos pilot in hospital or worse because of unexpected line breakage. I'm sure, but I'd rather be able to tell when I need new lines, not guess. True, but I've yet to see or hear about a vectran line snapping in that amount of jumps (there very well may have been, but I have yet to find out such info). My beliefs are that while HMA has less drag, the continous linesets (more lines) add sufficient drag to almost (or maybe entirely?) nullify the speed benefits of the line type. Not facts I can back up, just my thoughts. For now, I'll settle for the vectran as I can't see any advantage other than POTENTIAL lifespan out of the lines sets. When I decided to go ultra HP on the canopy I knew it would require more expense keeping the lines in shape, it's something I won't skimp on until a better solution comes along. 5. Both of you need to upgrade to 2.1.2 - there was a register off in 2.1.1 that recorded weird hop n pop times. Please take your units to your local field rep or send them in to Alti-2 for the free upgrade. Blues Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  6. Logging has been substantially improved in 2.1.2 Take it to your local field support rep (should be plenty in fl) and they'll do the update for ya. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. Sorry but while you surely can explain the physics of the theoretical knowledge better than most of us, it hardly qualifies you to be dishing out advice on HP landings and canopies. There is little substitute for experience in these cases (not jump #'s but # of HP landings). EDIT: Dammit JP you beat me to it. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  8. Yahoo baby!! Welcome to the silver streak club Nice job on saving your ass. Now get that reserve all packed up for next weekend. See you then!! Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. Check out the Neptune as well. It's just as good as the protrack (if not better) and is cheaper too. Either unit will work fine in the helmut. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. PC 101. I know doublespock uses one too. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  11. When I lived in SA it was 180 days. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  12. if the FAA would let me, a year at least...probably more. I'd love to see at LEAST the 180 day cycle put in effect in the US. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  13. Nothing wrong with it, I'm just giving schimmle shit Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  14. Agreed. Great thing is that my wife looks at them too Did I mention I love her
  15. Heh - was doing ok till MarkSchimmle turned up in the vid goofing off HD Seems fine for your target market. I think I'd skip the white flashes though. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. I did check out the blade....my thoughts here. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  17. I believe there is a $15 registration fee. Glad to hear you're gonna make it dude! Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  18. I 2nd that. I've experimented with various pilot chute sizes and NOT ONE has changed the speed of the opening. All they've changed is the speed the bag comes off my back. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  19. heh - I hear ya. My point was more at the "XAOS only" comment. At some point if Drew decides to step up to the plate, he's going to have to let go of the stiletto and find an xbrace that he likes. For me, that was the velocity, but I think they're all good canopies. I'd just hate to see a pilot not get the canopy that would have liked more (not necessarily the velo) because they didn't demo them all. Jeffro is sponsored, he'll push the XAOS because it's his job, as will Jim for the VX and Ian for the Velo, etc, etc. I'm just encouraging Drew to check out all the options when the time comes Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  20. *cough* Velocity. Seriously though they're all good (the x-braces) but each one suits everyones flying styles differently. I'd definately check them ALL out before you lock yourself into a particular brand. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. No they are not currently opened weekdays without a "special event". Call the number and speak to Hans or Dave. They'll be able to answer any questions you may have. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  22. SunnyDee Ianmdrennan + SO CSpence Mouth Cheyeneel (I think) Marks Dave Brown msdeva CapWeathersby MochaSkyChick Kelel01 J-Rock (aka Johnny Disco Balls) Lister55 LoudDan AND A COUPLE OF PINK MAFIA LADIES. Watch this space to find out who Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  23. ahh crap. Now I gotta worry about another pilot coming up and kicking my ass Keep making decisions like this and working on it as hard as you are and you're going to be blowing away peeps in no time. Stay safe. See you on the battlefield Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  24. Most definately, don't get me wrong I'm not trying to take away from the landing. I still get only 5 secs with my best guess @ a 5ft gate hit though Either way it's all good. Nice safe smooth approach. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  25. From the time the pilot was gate level to touchdown was 5 seconds (I've watched Heath do 6). That's a pretty normal swoop "air time". Can't tell how fast the downwind was(doesn't anything over 5 mph void the record anyway?) , but I'm sceptical of the length they're claiming based on the amount of time the pilot spends in the air, assuming a mild downwind.
