yes you can convert from FAT32 to NTFS. You cannot, however, go back (without a reformat). Personally I think if you're running a 2000/xp system and don't have to access anything on the NTFS system from a dual boot os on the same machine, there's no reason not to switch. It's the jumpers exit weight (clothing, gear - including main and reserve, etc) added up and then divided by the canopy size. ie: 180 Pound Jumper 25 pounds of gear 205 Exit Weight. Canopy size 288, therefore wingloading is: 205/288 = 0.71 Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Chris, Are you saying that the team guys go 1000+ jumps without replacing even the brake lines (assuming you use HMA for them)? Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Hmph. You're not committed till you're actually in freefall. Why do people insist on doing demos in crappy conditions (and yes 15 - 25 is crappy)? Doesn't do the image of the sport any good. It certainly doesn't hurt it as much calling off the demo than it does frapping in on a spectator. yeah till she sues... I hope the newspaper report is inaccurate, but I guess we'll see when someone who was actually on the dive responds. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Mark, Seems like something that may be do-able, we'll have to see how many people are interested, but we could throw together something fun if there was enough interest. Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
I hear those kind of responses too sometimes. Funny thing is, it isn't about winning...it's about learning and those comps create a spectacular environment to do so. I agree with you...downwinders can be pulled anytime. Competing is learning. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

What version of the neptune software were you using? I know in some earlier versions there were issues similar to what you're describing. I've had no issues whatsoever with the new versions when it comes to staying in synch with my pro-dytter. Also if you aren't on Neptune 2.1.2 I'd recommend upgrading. So far it's been rock solid. Edit: Good post. You got me thinking about some things when it comes to my cypress. Thanks! Blue ones, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
If you like them both equally then I'd think it would come down to a matter of customer service (both now and in the future) and the comparitive costs of the canopies. Both are good canopies so I doubt you'll go wrong whichever one you chose. Have fun. Blue skies, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Oh my!! Sorry! I must have accidently removed your name when I was deleting your slacker SO from the list -
Hi Alan, Sorry I'm not trying to "imply" anything but I just happen to know of more cases of HMA lines failing within the manufacturers specs than other line types. It's quite possible that the only reason for this is because of "sensationalism" due to the fact that HMA lines tend to be on higher performing canopies where brake line breakages at speed have dire results. I agree - neither he nor I know. What we do know is that the canopy was packed indoors more often than not and that the lines were checked that very day with no apparent indication of failure. He did, however, get the canopy wet a few weeks before at a contest and the canopy was left hanging indoors to dry. Could that have hastened the failure...probably but my point isn't that HMA is bad, but rather not as "robust" (is any line type?) than some manufacturers claim. The note is certainly appreciated. I don't think any of us here claim to have all the answers. Sometimes "shit" just happens. So far though, in experiences I've heard of and witnessed, it just seems to happen more often with HMA. Hope it stops raining

At this point it looks like it'll be the king air only. Good thing it's an 8 min alt ride. There'll be no problem whatsoever getting on loads. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
