Blevins, Do you have some names for these "outside experts"? Robert99
-
Yeah. Okay. Let me know when you find the body, the briefcase, the money bag, the parachutes, etc. Cossey is on the record in several places about the canopy used and the backpack. He should know. He may not have owned those chutes, but he did pack them. Blevins, Your questions about the stairs dropping were answered in the post you responded to. So read it again and slowly and see if you can find those answers. Keep in mind that the aircraft used in the FBI drop tests was the actual hijacked aircraft. Since this is common knowledge, my suggestion is that you take some time off from pushing your book on KC and read up on the actual hijacking. Maybe you can learn something. You need proof that the FBI's flight path is WRONG and you also need proof that the FBI's analysis of the Amboy parachute is RIGHT. I get the impression that you don't believe anything that doesn't fit into your preconceived theories. Robert99

Blevins, You need to take those airspeeds seriously. You absolutely would not want to pull the rip cord while still on the stairs. Keep in mind that the downwash and engine exhaust create a very turbulent area just behind and below the aircraft. 377 has written about what he went through during his jumps from jets. The jet wash area just behind and below the airliner probably has an airspeed quite a bit higher than the airliner's airspeed due to the high energy and high speed exhausts from the three turbojets. You would not want to go into that jet wash area with a parachute that was in the process of opening. Even a 225 MPH rated canopy is going to have problems there if it is out of the pack. Where do you keep coming up with this idea that Cooper had to go through an opening that was only 2 or 3 feet in height? In the FBI tests, the parachutists managed to walk all the way down to the last step on the stairs. Surely you understand that the weight of the jumper would lower those stairs quite a bit further than they would drop without anyone on them. Robert99

The placard was only about 6 inches square, or maybe slightly less. Your statement can be interpreted as meaning you believe that Cooper either got a full canopy and survived or that he cratered and just hasn't been found. On 377's designation of civilian parachute rated speeds. About 20 years ago, the civilian "low speed" parachutes were rated as up to 150 MPH and the civilian "high speed" parachutes were rated as up to 160 MPH. So the difference was only 10 MPH between the two. And the airliner was going about 225 MPH when Cooper jumped, fell, or was thrown off those stairs. Robert99

Jo, For better or worse, you sound like the second coming of Joan of Ark. Robert99

Jo, Here is another remark that may interest you. "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw bricks." Robert99

Blevins, as Shutter pointed out earlier this evening, Tina and Flo gave those descriptions on the evening of the hijacking and not 40 years later. And maybe I can make my earlier statement a bit clearer. Tina and Flo were describing exactly the same thing and the relatively slight differences in stating the color are of no consequence. It can easily be explained. Robert99

I know it's cherry-picking to do that. But I wanted to show you that in reality, the witness descriptions varied depending on who was giving the description. I attribute some of this to extreme stress. Schaffner was the only one who got a good look at Cooper without his sunglasses (and not for long), and that was probably when her heart was going 180 beats a minute after she read the note. Her account that Cooper's eyes were brown might be a guess, or something she simply said for the FBI because she didn't know for sure. I think the last thing on her mind was to make sure she memorized the eye color. Maybe her thoughts were on whether she was going to get blown up in a hijacking the day before Thanksgiving. It's hard to tell. I'll bet she was plenty happy when she was allowed to get off the plane in Seattle.

Blevins writes: Okay. Well, first...how do you figure Christiansen as a 'discredited Cooper candidate?' Is that your opinion, or the FBI's? Robert99 replies: Apparently both. You need to get a dictionary and look up the meaning of the words "discredited" and "dismissed". I used the word "discredited" to mean that your claim about Cooper has been repeatedly "dismissed" as being a viable claim. While I can't speak for the FBI, my guess is that they would use the word "dismissed" only in the event that someone else has been proven to be Cooper. If I remember correctly, the FBI has said that no one has been "dismissed" as a suspect. Blevins writes: I've stated several times that AB of Seattle is a wholesale US trade publisher. Robert99 replies: Blevins, ever time the Cooper hijacking comes up in the news, as it did to some extent following the Cossey murder, you head for your account on Amazon and start giving away the e-version of your book. I presume that Amazon has been able to sell some of the print versions of your book. But have you sold a single copy of your book through other retailers? Giving away free copies at street fairs doesn't count. So is your book company actually a retailer or a wholesaler? Robert99

Jo, The only real question is why YOU are on this thread? I'll bet you already have your book written don't you? You just can't find a publisher until you discredit any real and viable Cooper suspects, correct? Is Jo Weber your legal name? Have you been lying about your and Duane Weber's past? Why don't you answer these questions before jumping on other people. I can personally assure you that Georger has probably done about 100 times (at least) more investigating of the Cooper hijacking than you and Blevins combined. Nevertheless, Blevins is still pushing a book about a discredited Cooper candidate and you continue to misrepresent and otherwise screw up ever thing that you can. It is you and Blevins who make more than 50 percent of the posts on this thread and neither one of you has done a single thing to advance the reason for this thread's existence. Robert99

Jo Weber writes: EXACTLY where in the above post Robert99 does JO state the man has on a Airforce Band Uniform Robert99 replies: Jo, I have NEVER claimed that you or anyone else said the man had on a USAF uniform. See your own statement below. Jo Weber writes: REQUOTE: have been told he has on an airforce band uniform. Robert99 replies: Jo, You make the claim that someone else told you it was a USAF uniform. And that someone was NOT me. Again, your knee jerk reply only enforces the need for you to read the posts in question before replying. Robert99
-
Jo, As I have stated repeatedly, you need to start reading your own posts and the ones you reply to. For instance, I did not say that YOU or anyone else said the man had on a USAF uniform. You are just continuing to plant your admittedly false information. Even you don't know the truth of what you are saying anymore. You and BK are a matched set. Robert99
-
QuoteBlevins already identified your Salt Lake photo. It's Jack Booby aka 'Jack Ruby'. Play it again, Jo. Jo and Blevins need to get their eyes checked. The individual in the picture does NOT have on a USAF uniform and it is not "Jack Ruby/Booby". And neither KC or Duane Weber had anything to do with the Alcatraz escape, the Lindbergh kidnapping, or the Lost Dutchman gold mine. Robert99

Blevins, The above quote is jumping to a big time conclusion based on no evidence at all. You are just whining because YOU don't know what is going on. Are the police suppose to keep you (and the murderer) filled in on all the developments just to give you something to write about on this thread and your blog? If Blevins knows something, it will be on the thread or his blog within an hour or two. You have got that percentage of posts to maintain. Robert99 'They' are all around us! Georger, That is more logical than some of the other things I have seen on this thread. At least, it is some creative thinking. Robert99

Blevins, Your reply to Myer Louie, which is quoted in part above, defies description. On the matter of the Boston bombers, it was primarily 911 calls and calls to the FBI that got the police hot on the bombers trail. Blogs such as the Cooper thread had nothing to do with that. On the matter of the Cooper thread, it remains to be seen if it has been a help or a part of the problem on solving the Cooper hijacking. For the sake of everyone, including the law enforcement people, what are your qualifications for telling the FBI and King County Sheriff's department how to conduct their respective investigations? Don't be modest. Robert99

You and Jo always think the FBI is part of a conspiracy to keep The Absolute Truth from being revealed about such things as the Amboy chute or the fact that Everybody Knows that Duane Weber was D.B. Cooper. In my humble opinion, it is beyond belief that anyone would murder Cossey because of his connection to the Cooper case. EXCEPT, Cooper himself may have returned from the dead to settle the score because he felt that Cossey had downplayed his non-existent parachuting skills 42 years ago. My prediction is that the murderer will be caught within a month or two (it takes a while for the prosecutors to get their ducks lined up) and will be in his late teens or early 20's. He/She may have had an accomplice or two about the same age. It was probably a home robbery that was interrupted by Cossey's return home late that night. Robert99

Observation: Creepy! Maybe he is lurking RIGHT here on this thread, Bruce! Thread carefully - you have been dealing with the Devil himself! Maybe you are next! YOU think? With Jo, Blevins, and Bruce jumping to all kinds of conspiracy theories, maybe the Cooper thread should just admit the impossibility of keeping a straight face here and join Bob Knoss over on the Screwballs and Nutcases forum. Knoss would probably appreciate the company. Robert99

Cooper asked that the NWA people in Seattle send out some food for the crew. I believe they sent out six meals (or sandwiches) for the five people on board the aircraft. Cooper did not ask for or get one of those meals. The food Cooper took from the rear of the aircraft was things like soft drinks and snack foods such as peanuts which were routinely carried for kids on the flights. There was no meal service on the flight between Portland and Seattle (mid-afternoon and only about 40 minutes flying time total). I believe the military has/had a survival manual that on how to use a parachute canopy for shelter. One canopy would be sufficient for Cooper. Perhaps Amazon can elaborate on the above. Robert99
-
You aren't missing anything. The dummy chute was worthless for jumping. But if Cooper attached that chute to the front of his back pack harness by some jury rigged means, then it would increase his chances of not finding the already oddly located right side rip cord on a very dark night. Basically, it would add to the already high probability that Cooper was a no pull.

Blevins writes: On Geoff Gray: I agree he's one heck of a nice guy. I thought there were two things missing from the book. First, a detailed timeline of the hijacking from the moment Cooper went to the ticket counter and approached the agent (Williams) up to and including the initial search. That would have been good. R99 replies: Exactly why would that have been "good"? A "detailed timeline" for a several week period would just be filler for an author who didn't know what he was writing about. If you are interested in that information, it is available online and in print but perhaps not in the "detail" you prefer. So you may have to do some research on your own. Blevins writes: Also, I thought he should have taken a stand on who he thought the hijacker could have been. This has been mentioned in reviews at Amazon, that he sort of left that part hanging. The book mostly gets positive reviews, but the negative ones often mention this. R99 replies: Blevins, you should not criticize an actual author for being smart enough to keep wild eyed speculation out of his book. You and the other people who are pushing their Cooper "candidates" are just blowing smoke. I imagine that you are trying to claim that your naming an impossible Cooper candidate gives you a leg up over Gray's book. And of course, I presume that you and your ringers are the ones making those remarks on Amazon. Robert99

working on a lathe wearing a tie is not a good thing, even a clip on would be dangerous around rolling machines. I would put him in a supervisor position with wearing a tie in a manufacturing plant Others, including myself, have made the same suggestion. Nevertheless, Tom Kaye has pictures of lathe and other such machine operators wearing fully knotted ties (not clip-ons). Robert99

Unless it is eventually found, it will probably never be known with absolute certainty what the rip cord arrangement was on the back parachute Cooper took with him. But based on the information in all of Georger's recent posts and reposts of other people, it should be apparent that Cossey had made some kind of modification to the rip cord arrangement on the missing back pack. On Hayden's parachute that he got back, it should be noted that after its repacking on May 21, 1971 by Cossey, it was already far out of date by the time of the hijacking. If I remember correctly, its next repacking date (listed on the card in Bruce's picture) was more than 10 years later. That is NOT taking good care of your equipment. Does anyone know if Hayden was flying in 1971 or owned an aircraft then? If so, where did he keep his aircraft? Robert99
-
That figures since it wasn't really a parachute.

You need to take a look at the Australian parachute link that Mrshutter earlier today. Also there is some good information from the early skydiving days. I completely agree with your last sentence above. Robert99
