  1. I attend a couple of Blues festivals every year, the Blues is alive and well down under. I agree with R L Burnside, his "come on over" album rocks Good to hear, but I am talking about real Delta Blues from central Mississippi. Go there now and all you hear is rap, and the old people who know and live the Blues are dying off. "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  2. The worst kind of Blues! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  3. I just picked up a live Muddy Waters CD that kicks ass..............everyone has listed the most well known blues players, but check out Leadbelly and RL Burnside. Leadbelly is more traditional Mississippi Blues and Burnside is hard electric blues. Ass Pocket of Whisky is a good one!
  4. Until recently, my brother was a big wheel at Home Depot and they are in no way short of cash.......and there is more to the story! But yea, fuck'em! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  5. Then they are doing it wrong. Dogs can almost always be helped, it's a matter of doing it right. What a shame. I cannot agree with you. Some dogs, like people and all animals, can go insane at times and not be in control of their facilities. They will revert into old brain thinking, after all, it is first nature. It is the responsibility of the people who are Top Dog of the pack to make major decisions such as this one. "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  6. I actaully know a guy that sends monry to Benny Hinn and loves that guy!........how fucked up is that? "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  7. I think it will be truly amazing to see how the internet will change every society around the world. The Net has allowed some people(and probably a lot more than we would ever really imagine) to never, or rarely leave their own homes, yet have interactions of the least personal kind with an unlimited number of people that are just as recluse as themselves. I wonder how this will change and shape the social concepts of future human devolpment. I have known a few really odd people who basically lock themselves in a room and chat for hours and hours and then actually believe they have personal relationships. I think this site may be a lot different than others because of the nature of our sport, but all these other "chat rooms".........weird things for people to waste their time on.
  8. I think I can understand your point. I drive home at midnight and I have seen more obviously impaired drives in the last week than I have in the last year. And too, I have seen 2 or 3 cops cars on one driver, and thought they should be on the freeway where there are more people driving even worse........But I guess the cops cannot catch all the fish in the sea. I suspect one day we may all have breath testers on our cars as a standard.......... In reality, the police or not here to protect, they are here to clean up and write a report so the DA knows who to blame and decided what they can be charged for. And if you are unlucky enough to get caught doing something unlawful, you are held responsible. As it should be. 9. What is the purpose of such a list? So we can compare whose list is bigger!!!!!!!!! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

  11. I have had at least three Colmans and they are good for the money. I really liked the Stargazer........But, don't try to hike a Colman very far cause they weigh a ton! I have an REI tent now and it is really nice and light and a perfect size for two. It's not important for me to be able to stand in it though......
  12. That is too cool! I am reading a book right now by a H.W. Tillman called Mischief in Patagonia.........He describes very well what your pics illustrate! Lucky You!
  13. I have read that the heat was primarily created by the combustible objects in the building that were set on fire by the fuel and after the first 10 minutes, all fuel had burned completely. In addition, the vidoes clearly show molten aluminum flowing down the sides of the both buildings and I think aluminum melts at about 1600 or so.....I think it was probably much hotter than that and heat caused the exoskeleton to fail-which supports both buildings. I would bet that the popping sound was made from the high-torque bolts or revits "popping" under stress and other metal components withstanding treatment they were not designed to handle. I have read that the groans from the Titanic just before she broke in two were like no other anyone has ever experienced!
  14. You were the primary responder I was looking for concerning a reply to this thread! I really dig smart chick's! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  15. If you can do anything other than pass out, you did not have HMS! Well, ok, maybe something to drink, the pass out. I think it pretty obvious who is having HMS!!!!!! Does your mother know what you are doing Rocky???????????? "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  16. The is very considerate of you! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  17. Most married people I know don't really have that much sex......... Can't really say much about real marriage, I have pretty much spent the last 15 years split between two different women and neither finished with what I wanted. But, in the movie, he had to die as a sort of affirmation of her free spirit.
  18. They want nuclear energy and nuclear bombs.....it is a win/win deal for them. "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  19. True story! When I was about 15, I lived one block from the beach, and I used to party with friends every weekend and get completely smashed.......Well, after walking back to our spot from the store, I met a beautiful hippie girl, in a van, who asked me if I would like to get in and have some fun! I got scared and said no and started walking away......about 5 minutes later I was in the van and she was taking off her bikini.........I went back to my group of friends, told them what happened..........I got all of them laid that day! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  20. He probably just wanted to meet her.......Why do you think he wanted sex from a stranger he made eye contact with on the freeway???????? Something you want to talk about? I was at a reed light a few weeks ago and a girl next to me smiled at me. I followed her into the Pets Mart lot and talk to her for about ten minutes before deciding it was not worth the time. Something else that many people do not realize is when they are being "cased" by a prostitute. I have been in bars and bookstores and watched guys interact and not have a clue of what really going on!!!!! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  21. Airbus takes the approach that the computer should do more "work" to help out the pilot. For example, when you push a rudder pedal on a regular aircraft, you get a combined turn and slip. On an A380, you just get a slip; the computer figures you don't want to turn and uses the ailerons to counter the turn. Many pilots don't like this because it feels like someone is 'second guessing' them. Legend has it that the most often-overheard phrase during pilot training on newer Airbuses is "what's it doing now?" Yea, you know.....this is kinda like using Word or Exel and the program keeps "helping" you by putting all kids of crap in you document that you don't want.......same idea, right?! 22. The FBI kept extensive files on him, and mainly for political reasons, not because they saw him as a threat to national security. National Security meant something completely different in the 60's and early 70's than it does today. Especially to a paranoid drunk for president that was in power at the time. Nixon hated Lennon. The nation was at the height of the idea Communist would take us over and that SUV's would never be created! By the way, I like Nixon, but, he was still a drunk! FBI had files on all the rock stars of that day! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
  23. I bet the Dallas climbers had some media connections. "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
