That's cool. Do you have the Jetboil coffee press or was it just regular joe?

graffitti artist. Its a part of his punishment. Graffiti is Art, and you are punishing him for self expression that was influenced by is lame friend. Young people at this age have no idea what their ideas and feelings represent and it is a struggle for them to realize what boundaries to move within. Combine this with what they watch on MTV and they think everything should be look like the Getto Hood. Take him to an art museum and show him how paint truly makes art.

Sounds as if your son is well on his way to TYC.......just joking Yep, this is no big deal. You should find a way to illustrate for him that this is not the way to express himself. And at 11, he is not even aware he wants to express himself, he just thinks spray painting the door is cool. This idea was amplified by his little bastard friend. He probably should ditch the friend and this may happen naturally sooner or later. Best way to help the friend get lost is to make it too hard for him to hang out with your son. This must be done covertly and without your sons knowledge. Eventually this kid will move on. You should probably keep you son as busy as possible this summer so he does not have too much free time without direction.

The 2003 war in Iraq - does anybody still fully support it?
cloudseeker2001 replied to vortexring's topic in Speakers Corner
I am amazed at how many people voted to have never supported the war............Where are all the War-Mongers who talked so much trash at the start of this action? "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream" -

What Was That INCREDIBLE Toy You Just HAD to Have as a Kid?!
cloudseeker2001 replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I had cool stuff, but I was never into lots of toys.......What my parents would do is buy me a 35mm camera, but never buy enough film, no flash or lens and then complain about getting the film developed. They got me an Atari but no games other than what it came with-I was really good at tank. I did manage to steal a few games from K-Mart! This could be cool and loosing Reeves would not be all that bad if they could keep Gary Busey, Lori Petty and maintain a really, really good storyline.....It would also help to have Kathy Biglow direct it......but I am sure that is asking way to much from Hollywood........As most all sequels, it will probably suck. The BEST Vacation of Your Life...Where Did You Go?
cloudseeker2001 replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
All my vacations have been good, but the 2000 trip was probably the best. 3.5 weeks on the road camping, hiking, rafting to GNP and back. 2 weeks in Pairs and Amsterdamn in 01 was good too. -
I know a couple that is exactly like that....the guy is one of the best blues singer/guitar players in Houston and he can make her melt!

I have been working on financing pilot school for the last four months and I have talked to few people who are in debt 50K with only 200 hours after a full time school.......I have no idea if this is the normal experience, but it is not for me. I think I can get a PPL for about 6K including all training and gear. Logging hours after that is different........I also looked at 2 150's that were in great shape and one was even instrument ready. Both planes were in the 25K range and would be great time builders, but damn, if a starter goes out, its 500$.....not to mention with a full tank of gas I will have enough useful load to take only one of my dogs for a ride! But, as for now, just get the license......I should start in about a month or so......

Do you make your dog pack his own food and water? I guess he makes a good bear alarm as well....where was that pic taken?

This post represents America....Hook, Line and Sinker. Iraq was financially, morally and socially bankrupt and barely had the capabilities to even support itself as a country. It was known then, just as it is known now. America you are still suckers! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

When her bowl is empty, she will start to smack it around. If that doesn't get my attention, she will start pushing it until it ends up at my feet. It's kind of cute, but annoying at the same time. And, I do think eventually she will grow out of the eating what she sees, or at least I'm hoping. When I feed her, the first thing she does is sticks at least one paw in her dish staking claim to it. Once she realizes there is no other competition, she may stop her bad habits. I've had her for about four months, and she's been a great housecat so far. When my cats bowl is empty, she will sit in the middle of the room and scream at me unitl I fill it for her! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

"No one tried to be a Hero..." Be one darn it!!!
cloudseeker2001 replied to watchdog2's topic in Speakers Corner
This is something I have thought about as well. I think that most people simply do not understand emergency situations and they do not recognize when certain events happen that could lead to an emergency. It simply escapes peoples thinking. People also panic, which often causes them to do nothing or something completely stupid. We are trained to call the police or fire department or someone to deal with the emergency and I think this adds to the deception of not being responsible for our own safety. I am not an emergency worker, but I have managed many "minor" emergencies and I am amazed how grown, educated people will act and react or will not act at all. I have been shot at, chased, confronted by people that were very intent on doing me harm and I often wonder how other people would handle such events....I think many find themselves in a really bad spot. The "Herd" mentality as well........When something happens, many people are very afraid to step up to the plate and do something-for whatever reason. I was once eating at a Black Eye Pea and from across the dining room I see a guy turning blue and pointing to his throat. I ran over and performed the "hind-lick" and the guy spit out an entire roll not even chewed........He was eating lunch with about 8 other people-his coworkers-and they just sat a watched as he turned blue and nearly passed out! They were in complete shock and were not happy when I looked at everyone of them and asked what the hell were they thinking by not helping the guy! They actually complained the manager about me! But I will say that the heard mentality works the other way as well. I once cleared rooms during a hotel fire(more smoke than fire) in the middle of the night. I recruited 3 people that I thought were able to handle it.....four complete strangers worked really well together under stress. -
My ex-GF and I raised two from babies (one died of old age and she got "custody" of the other one since it was her cage). My X wanted to take the cat.......no way in hell I would allow that to ever happen. "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

NO!!! You have to keep that baby warm... Put it under the covers with you... They're very friendly lizards, and most likely he'll sleep when you do. No freaking way in hell that thing would ever be under my covers!!!! HAHAHAHA! My bed is not big enough for two lizards!!!!!!
