    I have tour'd the Smoke Jumpers base in McCall Idaho as well and I have been in the Otter they use for jumping in that area.....the DC3 too.

    I like wool and cotton-but not heavy cotton. I have found synthetics to be uncomfortable and they can really become rank after a few days!     Actually quite the contrary, I know lots of people who have gone and done the full AT alone. There are tons of people on various stretches of the trail. However DO YOUR RESEARCH on where the check points are etc. I have done a lot of back country hiking alone, all of it in the 4 corners area.......it is a little dangerous, but the the idea is to not get into trouble to begin with........Last year I met a guy who was hiking from Mexico to Canada and he had not eaten the last of his "real" food and was two days away from his mailed food box. I cooked him chicken and rice and gave him a poptart and he was in heaven. I did not give him one of two cokes I hiked in with me!

    Funny thing is, there's people who actually believe that all 300+ Navy Sailors can be scared out of talking about their ship shooting down an airliner. Or the fact that a missing missile will not show up when offloading at Yorktown and silencing another thousand that's involved with the supply chain side of inventory. Some people and what they will believe! I suppose you think Armstrong actually walked on the moon! I also believe that we have time machines, because the fact that they used Nineties Technology to fake the Moon landing in the late Sixties. Oh Man!     My avatar is Salvatore Dali's "Elephant + Trumpet Vine". It is from the 1972 FleurDali Suite. I've acquired "Water Hibiscus + Swan" and have the opportunity to purchase "Flower + Fingers." But, I would prefer to have the Elephant only one is not available for purchase at this time. Fleurdali That is very cool!
