I suppose some of Hemingways works could have been considered bathroom stall stuff, but they still make me hot! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Mexican restaurant in town, meals from 3.75 and up, Walmart, and a couple of grocery stores close by. No parking fee, no camping fee if you are camping in the rough, beer is free after the last plane takes off, if you like Miller Lite. Free soda, too. Showers, and shuttles on site, no charge.Entertainment every night, free. Spend everything you can make/save/borrow/steal on jumps. I'm sure that I've forgotten stuff, but email me if you have anymore questions....... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

I actually LOVE being a CPR instructor. I like thinking i teach people a skill that might in turn help save a life. Anyhoo, it takes about 4 hours to certify a group of about 20 peeps. My time is of course free, but i think it would cost around $8-$10 a person just for the paperwork fees and stuff. Those fees are charged straight from the Red Cross. I think this is a great idea, I too was certified and am now lapsed. I've had two incidents in which I used my CPR training and now have a 50/50 record. What if we hooked you up at WFFC in Rantoul? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

My daughters cat did almost the identical thing. The poor thing was hospitalized for about 7 days. IV fluids, no real diagnosis. Every day wondered if this would be the last. Day 7 perked up, acted interested when the 2 year old came to visit. Let him (the cat) go home for the night for the next 3 nights, everything is ok now. Never did figure out what was wrong. The vet suggested that it may have been some sort of poisoning, like radiator fluid. Indoor cat tho, so unlikely....... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Beth please pick up the nearest white courtesy telephone for a message... last year I only had two phones to answer, and neither of them were white. Are you planning on providing me with another phone this year? And the correct place to look for me would be,,,,wherever there is a Corona Beer! See you guys soon! They are watching the wffc dvd in the next room, here in SC, so I need to RUN AND WATCH IT! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

I have heard that the number one fear in life is talking in front of a group of people. Not me, I can talk in front of anyone, kindergarteners to Senators. And when I speak to either group, I can relate to them. My big fear is AIRPLANES, I know, I know, so what am I doing here? I am admiring you guys! Just think that you will be telling someone all about something you love, like skydiving, and talking in front of a crowd is EASY. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Low Down On the Location -- dropzone.com Tent @ WFFC
Snowwhite replied to jceman's topic in The Bonfire
skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
Jack, it was mentioned that the layout of dropzone row might be changing this year. Any idea as of yet what the new layout may be? Looks like the DZ row tents will be on the opposite side of the road, Rev Jim, about where you and Peanut and I had tents last year with those nasty Alabama boys. Still working on final design Oh, yea, any way we can beg, borrow, and threaten the proper people to get us parked next to the Rodriguez Brothers this year? When you reserve the tent, ask the question. If you've already reserved the tent, call back and ask the question.....217 222 5867 skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Rev.Jim, a little tipsy?! Surely not you, you must be referring to someone else..... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Michael has some good ideas for you. Another one is that Greyhound runs to Rantoul (CHEAP), and there are a couple of additional shuttles that will be available. ( I think one is called Lincolnland) running from Chicago to Rantoul. Watch the 'travel' section of the www.freefall.com site, and I will post updates as soon as I have them, or email me a little closer to the dates, and I will see if I can hook you up. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Oh yea, our new rating is 'high performer'... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

I'm finding this to be a very interesting thread, since I was appointed to be the Chairman of the Board of the Rock Island Housing Authority about 8 years ago. At that time we were a 'troubled' authority (HUD's grading system) We fired low lifes, we evicted low lifes, we were sued by bunches of them ( and won ) and now we are on the rebound. On Tuesday I have the extreme pleasure of announcing our foray into the Hope VI theatre. Understand that Hope VI is neither section 8 or project. One other thing that has been changed in recent years is this. There is NO free housing in our Authority. Everyone pays, some don't pay alot, some pay more than I ever would have imagined. We have people who are paying $450.00 a month for section 8 that would go for $550. on the open market. The government picks up the difference. They are inspected regularly, and they are part of the tenant organization that reports to the Housing Authority, so there are a lot more controls on the overall product. Why did we do these things? Partly because HUD is requiring change, partly because when I was held hostage by the Chicago Black Panthers for wanting to tear down our most blighted, least used, highest crime projects, I GOT PISSED OFF! We had a 336 unit project which had only had 144 families living in it for at least 15 years. We were paying $17,000. a year for LOCKS! from boyfriends kicking in doors! WHY IN THE HECK AM I PAYING FOR THAT??! We had a waiting list that was three years long, and a staff that couldn't produce ONE new tenant a month! And the worst part was, this was only one of SEVEN projects in our town. We have hired a new EX. Dir, who takes direction well from the Board, we have a board who makes their meetings! (couldn't believe the old board rarely met!) We have staff who are accountable to the Ex. Dir. and we have tenants who know that they live by the rules or they live somewhere else. If your kids bring drugs, or guns, you lose your house. Hope VI will not be offered to everyone, the houses that are built will be maintained by our staff, will be built one or two to a neighborhood, will have front porches, garages and 'look like' the rest of the neighborhood. When the neighbors get up and go to work and school, the housing tenants will see ethics that haven't existed in HUD projects for years. They will be isolated from gang type activity, they will have neighbors who will patrol their activity more. The 'uneducated poor' will be spread over several schools and not concentrated all in one place. If anyone has any questions for me, I welcome them, as I have to hone my skills for the press conference that I am heading next week. Wish me luck, and hope that the Black Panthers aren't there...... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Wendy, make a copy and get it in the mail tomorrow, with correct signature. Send cover letter that explains why, and that correct check was sent with incorrect form. Send 'return reciept requested' at the post office and your ass should be covered.. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Para-pro didn't build it, they hosted the event. The WFFC actually built it. There are some great pictures of it available through Martini Shots films. The key word here is 'public' airport. Different venues will have different requirements as to where a pond can or can not be built, and some of the requirements are pretty stringent. We found this out when building both the 2001 pond in Q town, and the bigger and better 2002 pond in Rantoul. If you email me with your specific questions, I may be able to answer a few of them, since I was around for some of these negotiations. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Folks you decide the load and date, and we can manifest as 'birthday jump for Rev Jim' and make discreet announcements for you..... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

I'm tellin ya, 1pm at Rantoul. It's warm by that time and you can land miles away. And we usually can fill the King Air so no one else can get on and video things. A get away golf cart is a good idea too. never done one before-- You guys tell me when you want to do the birthday jump, and I will be there with the pickup truck and your clothes.... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
