Chad, if you are doing research, be sure to include statistics of OTHER sports as well. For instance, I am sure that your school supports Football, track and other activities. In our area, we had a marathon. Hot day, one man died running the marathon, one died watching. DANGEROUS SPORT! Do not run or WATCH track, it can be deadly! I also point out that on the day that Dale Earnhardt died, he was one of a VERY LIMITED number of people allowed on that track. I got the opportunity to talk to my idol, Lew Sanborn, and he was commenting on the fact that for as many years as he has been jumping, he has remarkably FEW jumps. But he made comments similar to the Bytchs above. Every jump was important, and they were all fun. He also made the comment that even tho the accuracy meets are named for him, there are far more "accurate" jumpers than he considers himself to be. Oh yea, and nobody ever tells you this, but if you have Truck plates (like I have on my van) it is illegal to drive on the lakefront. Last time there was a competition there, I worked in manifest. We managed to get all the competitors up, and all of the tandems, AFF and funjumpers. Been in the papers locally, and in other towns for promoting the WFFC. Had a funny published in the Readers Digest (got paid for it!) Spent 14 years in city government, been featured a few times for that, some good, some bad. Got interviewed for having Doc Severinson come into my music store and spend some time with me. Ditto when Stepan Grapellis band came in. I've done a few commercials for local businesses, who hired me, after they saw the commercial I produced for my music shop. Had John Deere Insurance hire me to do a commercial for them (good money, yea, I'm cheap) It ran nationally. Had the AP pick up an article that was written about me being a violin maker, and had that run internationally. That was cool, heard from friends from all over.
