I'd change "allows" to "encourages", but otherwise it's a correct statement. I don't know how many times it needs to be said: anyone who thinks the police will not - in actual reality - stop someone simply for being Hispanic-looking, and then create a "legitimate reason" for doing so after-the-fact, is incredibly naive.     It's pretty safe to say that FF is technically 'harder' than belly-flying and therefore (in groups) so is adjusting fall-rate, docking, etc... It's pretty safe to say not only is your statement incorrect, but you haven't got the experience to be making it. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     I really don't think anyone who is bitching about this law has read it. 1) It simply gives AZ officials the power to enforce the laws that Federal officers haven't been. 2) It doesn't permit officials to simply "check your papers", only to confirm legal status when legally verifying identification. I.e. Traffic stop, legal detention, etc. 3) I always carry my passport on my person when I travel outside the States. It's the only place I think it's secure. In it are stamps that are DATED ENTRY VISAS for my visits to various countries, and I'm pretty sure you get the same as a Canadian National when you cross into the States, and there is you proof of legal status. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     It's that precise feeling that causes many to shun RW and freefly instead. The point missed by many is by repetition and "screwing up a few dives" is how one gets better at it. One difference between the two seems to be that RW sets goals for each dive and often they are not reached, but that's ok as long as something is learned. The goals are more nebulous in early freeflying. It doesn't hurt to thicken the skin a little and be ready to listen to and accept the constructive criticism. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     There is some thought behind it.... Can a 14 year old truly appreciate the risk they are assuming by making a skydive? I suspect most adults don't really consider it, but at least the law says they are capable and responsible for making that decision for themselves. There is a saying that goes "The moment you leave the airplane you've committed suicide until YOU do something about it." That applies to Tandem Skydiving as well. I have found more joy and love for this sport, and my life is richer because of it. If she REALLY wants to do this, the sport will wait for her. The risk to this sport if we were to hurt or kill a minor is too big. It would begin to end skydiving as we know it today. For now, try a wind tunnel. It's great training, and while it too has risks, they are more socially acceptable. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Yes, but at the last BOD meeting it was proven that the only real meaning behind a license is income for the USPA.
