    No, no one in the history of rigging ever has, or they should loose their ticket. I'll bet Shlomo sure hasn't since that would be "wrong". Actually they probably wouldn't loose their ticket, just a very stern man from the FAA would walk up and say "Bad rigger!, Bad, bad rigger!" ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     In my experience (1000+ tandems and 700 or so videos) no, it doesn't happen that often. I've only ever had one person ride the plane down, and probably had to "talk" less than a dozzen to the door. In most A/C if we're in the door, were going as getting out of the way may be less safe. My students are told this durring the gear up. No more than you should expect from anyone else making their first jump. That's the job.

    If you have any doubt as to the legality of the jump, or the security of your ticket, do not give the jumpers permision to exit. i.e. don't turn on the green light. There is no FAA regulation involving the green light, there for it is a DZ/Pilot reponsibility to address the procedures surounding the "lights". Every DZ I've ever been to has a similar procedure involving the pilot giving permision to jump through the use of lights. At that point if a jumper exits in non jumpable conditions, the blame still falls on the pilot. Fair? No., but them's the apples. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    I think it's a mistake to limit the information to riggers only. There are many who have interest and input who have not found it necessary to obtain a ticket. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    These days with tunnel flight being more and more common, the test should be done WITHOUT the rig. For me to check I'd ask the original poster for a shot standing from the waist down, front and back. If the crotch sags at all, the torso length should be fixed. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
