  4. Try calling MEL, (masterrigger1), as he runs the US service center, and can probably advise you on a new domed slider.... The larger VX's are known for shitty openings. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

  8. That's what I'd do. Give them the serial number, and they can tell you if it's RSL ready or not. If so they can send you a lanyard and shackle, if not it might have to go in for work. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  9. AFAIK the TI must complete manufacture specific training FIRST. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  10. I got a 93 Xaos.....think they need my number? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

  12. See, and I'm betting that all this over regulation will make it easier to do things WITHOUT a ticket. Sheesh. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  13. There, I fixed it for you. Didn't need fixing. Wet behind the ear know-it-alls don't need glimmers of hope to encourage foolish behaviour. * note: this is not any sort of insult directed at any one in particular, I've just seen some very dumb people in this sport. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  14. Where do you find this stuff online?! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  15. Yeah, it is a problem. Think of the issues that will create with demo canopies, demo programs, non riggers swapping canopies on their personal rigs. Sounds like a poor idea, too much regulation. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  16. Yes. Best to have done by the manufacturer of the container, if the rig is not set up for one, as componants may need to be added to the container. Only if it is set up for one. The only rigger I know that has a blanket FAA approval for RSL instalation on non RSL ready rigs is Ray Ferrel. He can be contacted through www.actionair.com. Probably the best advice is to contact the manufacturer if you'd like one added. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  17. Your argumen still holds no water. Maintain. main·tain ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mn-tn) tr.v. main·tained, main·tain·ing, main·tains To keep up or carry on; continue: maintain good relations. To keep in an existing state; preserve or retain: maintain one's composure. To keep in a condition of good repair or efficiency: maintain two cars. To provide for; support: maintain a family. To keep in existence; sustain: enough food to maintain life. To defend or hold against criticism or attack: maintained his stand on taxes. To declare to be true; affirm: maintained her innocence. To adhere or conform to; keep: maintain a busy schedule. Maintaining a main canopy in airworthy condition includes, cleaning, inspection, replacement of linesets, and reparing normal wear and tear including patches. A Seinor rigger has every legal right to perform such work. Whether they have the skill or not is not regulated by the FARs. Oh and as for practical tests involving line replacement/repair and patches, you are not the only DPRE, nor are you the only rigging teacher. I feel if you're not training people to do this kind of work, you're doing them a disservice. As for you thinking it's only a Colorado thing, it's not, try checking with Californina DPRE's, and FSDO's as well as AZ, OR, NV........ by your "logical" interperatation of the regulations, a person not holding any sort of FAA riggers rating may reline their own main canopy, but an FAA Seinor rigger, may not only not reline a customers canopy, but can't even reline their own!!! THe whole thing fall flat on it's face in the respect there is no requirement to document work performed on a main parachute. And there never will be, untill the FAA makes it illegal to pack your own main. Again, relining a canopy is part of it's maintinance, not an alteration unless the original trim specs are not being used. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  18. I have two. A resume, as anyonow would, and a more specific Skydiving Bio. The Bio has my accomplishments and ratings, while the resume includes the companies I've worked for (skydiving and other) and non-skydivign education... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  19. Main canopy repair has traditionaly always been a task that seinor riggers have conducted. This includes patches, large and small, and linesets. Your repeated arguments on this website suggest that you think that's not acceptable. If not, why test for it in the practical? The argument is bogus from a qualifications standpoint. Besides the fact I've encountered Master riggers I wouldn't trust to repair a pair of pants, and Seinor riggers harness work I've jumped, how do you account for the countles repairs done and jumped on main or reserve canopies done by NON rated sewers at manufacturer's facilities. I fail to understand your vendetta against those that are seriously interested in bettering their understanding and abilities in rigging. For lack of any better explanation, I ask for one.... FWIW many FAA officials have a disagreement with your interpertation of the regulations. In more than one part of the country. Edit: Allow me to apologize for being a bit more than reactionary in my original reply. My sentiments are the same as they were, but I shouldn't phrase it as an attack......my bad. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  20. What is your problem? Are you so egocentric to think your the ONLY rigger worth his salt? Cripes.... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  21. TSO requirements state no more than 300 ft. and 3 seconds from zero airspeed I believe. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  22. You do know there are several disturbing things seen in that video, right? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  23. I believe it's been printed in Skydiving Magazine. Right next to a photo of a NorCal object. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  24. Here we go again, the same old load of bullshit. Edit, just incase you're not trolling: The highly experienced knuckeheads that did this had their reserves packed SLIDER OFF. This would kill you in a terminal situation. The SkyHook is a neat invention. It WILL NOT save you from yourself. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
