Cross out 20 at a time? so, funny story for those who care (and yes, even for the ones that dont) I was sleeping in the PAX terminal here where we have been waiting for our plane to fly out for the past 4 days. Sleeping upstairs (and dispite the loud ass airforce guys playing dominos next to me) actually out. Well, a girl wakes me up, shes in civilian clothes, hands me a little gift bag (candies and cookies) and says we thank you for your service. Why can't I pull my front risers?

That happens more than you would know......err or so I hear. I hear that planes frequently break down in HI or Spain. Sometimes it takes weeks for replacement parts to be sent in leaving the poor pilots and crew stranded at exotic locations for extended periods of time. funny story about the airforce somehow my plane has managed to break down 3 times in 2 days... 2 of which were here in germany, i think the crew just wants to go get smashed here instead of back home... long long story... so far ive jumped about 20 of my own packs, while it used to worry me every time, you start building confidence in your packing and you start getting better at it... im not saying that im an expert packer or anything, but im confident in my packing abilities on the canopies that i have jumped/packed i found the PD packing video around here somewhere... its like 45 mins long and very in depth on packing and what makes it easier... let me see if i can find a link ahh... here we go Clicky... i have been deployed to several countries, iraq being one of them and no, i had no reason to fear for my life from anybody... statistically speaking most of the people there support us, and want us to help them... there is the one apple that spoils the bunch. (s)he is the one that demands the special attention. i go into every situation ready for the 'shit to hit the fan' but i dont go around wanting to shoot people just because i didnt like the look in thier eye. if i feel that they are up to no good, i will make distance between them and us, but i wouldnt just outright shoot them. yes, i would reason being: they have NOT given me reason to fear for my life at that point... if it is peaceful, then it is peaceful. I understand that it may turn at any moment and i wouldnt let my guard down now, if they produce a gun and fire it at me, or any of my fellow soldiers, thats a dead man we have an escalation of force as part of the RoE. first you show that you will shoot, fire a warning shot, shoot to disable (vehicle), shoot to kill there is a reason we are taught that. now, using less than lethal approach (ie OC or tear gas) i would have less problems deploying those, due to the non lethal effects. having experienced both first hand, i can assure you, almost everybody i know and can think of would get the hell away after being exposed to those. civil unrest where? what is the base of the unrest? i just read a couple articles on this... honestly, if my boss told me to use lethal force on another american who is exersizing thier right to peacefull protest, i would refuse the order. from what it LOOKS like, it is more of a training mission than an actual real life mission. i think it is completely wrong, and i hope that enough support goes to stopping it from happening. active duty is not ment for this, thats what the CG and NG are FOR!!! it also doesnt appear to say that the brigade was coming back from iraq specifically for this reason, it would be more likely that they were coming home anyway, and this is just more training.
