    Someone around here has said it before, learn from others mistakes, you'll never live long enough to make them all yourself. I think that's absolutely true. Sadly (and I've seen this several times at different DZ's) you have that one guy/girl who wont shut the hell up long enough to learn from others advice. Some manage to get thru it, but others get hurt because they didn't just listen and heed the advice of people who've probably been there before.     FYI: Most times you can't get the GI Bill to pay for a pilot cert unless you've already got a private. They say it's because private piloting is a recreational, not a occupation, but once you have your private, you can get it to pay for a bit of your commercial. I didn't bother going thru the hassle for getting it to pay for my riggers ticket, and I think the only school that may even be on the list is the USAPR.     Back in "the day", before collapsable pilot chutes, we used to put an over-sized grommet on our d-bag so it would slide down the bridle and collapse the slider. It worked well, but the heavy bag hanging on the end of the bridle would twirl like a prop. The fix was easy. We used heavy salt water fishing swivels to connect the bridle to the canopy so the bridle wouldn't twist up. http://www.tackledirect.com/samblacbalbe.html Slider or PC?
