    471 < 500, so yes, it SHOULD fit, though I'm not sure how tight. Microline IS spectra. If you're worried about size, go with the microline. If you're worried about lines that have some stretch, get the dacron, but remember, they pack larger and make that reserve container that much harder to close. Microline is way more common (from what I've seen) on reserves than dacron.     They might not have power, or might have better things to do. I'm wondering how east coast DZs in Irene's path have fared / will fair? I hope well with little or no damage. I heard that Ellington (Skydive Connecticut) flew their Otter off to safer ground. Without going into much detail, I've seen much bigger planes being moved 'to safer ground' because of this storm. Seems like a good idea to move your multi-million dollar plane.     I'm no pilot, so take it for what it's worth. I see NO reason for a pilot to slow the plane down to accomidate a tandem student. None... Actually, if he got it slow enough, it could make their exit less stable (think flopping around until you hit a good airspeed) Again, not a pilot... but I think the stall speed is different when the plane is most weight aft.     The things I do, I wouldn't recommend to someone with little experience. I have my reasons for it, mainly because one of them has hurt me because I did it wrong at around 50 jumps. The most important part is BEING CONSISTENT. Set your pattern up before you go up, take into account the winds. Think you'll need to start your pattern at such and such place (use ground references and altitudes), turn base and final the same way. If you overshoot by 30', back your pattern up 30'. If you undershoot 50', push your pattern up 50'. If you're consistent with it, you will start 'seeing' where you need to be and when.     Yeah... hurricanes and tornados an tsunami's are a lot more fun actually I've only ever dealt with a hurricane here. & I live in Tampa so most skirt around the bay anyway. It's good to live here, mother nature doesnt hate it as much apparently Hurricane party will be at YOUR place, right? I'll remember to untar my shoes.
