_____________________________________ I realy do, have a hard time believing otherwise. For example. I have seen as many as 13-horses on less than an acre of land, sharing one large round-bale of hay. Mornings and evenings, they got their separate ration of hay and grain in separate stalls. I watched those horses, during the day, biting and kicking each other... afraid another horse might get more hay. Individually, those horses were nervous and fearful of the slightest thing. They would bite their owners, kick and the like. I have seen situations where 3-horses, shared a large round-bale, had 5 or more acres to run on and they got along great and were easy going and gentle. I have to agree. Environment and owner in-put has a lot to do with how 'pets' respond. You are so right, about chihuahuas being nasty as well as manchesters and some other small breeds. We don't always see, how those 'pets' are handled by their owners. Chuck

___________________________________ For sure! I've seen that with various animals. The 'Alpha male' thing or 'Alpha female' thing. From the greyhounds that I've been around, they were all, very timid and almost 'nervous', yet gentle dogs. Chuck

I don't know, I used to think that way. That it's how the dog was raised, not it's breeding. I raised/trained/raced sleddogs for several years. You don't have to teach the dog to run, it's bred into them...it's what they do. IMO it's that way with the aggressive breeds. Not that good training can't mellow them out and help in control, but the aggression is still there and must be considered. ____________________________________ O.K., I learned something. I do know, from working horses, you can take a sweet animal and make a real mess out of it. I may be comparing apples to oranges, too. For example, I loaned my horse to a guy to rope off of, competitively. After about 6-weeks, my horse was a mess. He was suddenly, very hyper. It took me about a year, to get the hyper out of him and back to the calm gentle horse, he was before. On the other hand, from reading this thread, this may not be the case with dogs. Chuck

True story! It is dogs, attacking people. BUT, how have those animals been raised??? That's all I'm saying. Chuck

Obviously, it's the owners, not the dogs. When I see a pit-bull, tied to a stake with about 30' of log-chain, I know what that's about! I've known folks with pit-bulls, Rotweillers, Dobermans, etc. that thought they were lap-dogs and would love you to death before they'd bite. I don't believe, these dogs are mean and nasty, by nature but are mean by their raising. I've seen mean cocker spaniels and mean horses, for that matter. It was the owner. Maybe, I'm naieve!? Chuck

I grew up in Napa, CA, TX wines don't measure up. The industry is geetin away from cork, it can taint the wine. I thought all TX wines came in boxes? Derek ____________________________________ Give me a major break! Have you ever tried a Texas wine? Ft. Stocton and Lubbock as well as our Hill Country have brought home silver and gold, for their wines. I've taken Allen Silver some of our wines and as a Californian, even he was impressed! I was interested to read awhile back, that the wine industry was getting away from cork and going to 'screw' caps. Chuck

I don't give Texans a lot of credit, but you guyd can grill. C'mon up, the tunnel will be open soon and the ski resorts have already started opening. We got a short snow storm here at 5330 FT MSL this morning. Derek ____________________________________ Texans, produce some pretty darned good wines! In corked bottles too! Chuck

Does a tandem count towards your total jump count?
masterrig replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
__________________________________________ Over a period of years and in-between un-assisted free-falls, I did 5-tandems and counted each one. I was told back then, 'it's a skydive!' On one of the tandems, I did all the steering and flaring. The tandem instructor laughed about it later. They do count as a skydive. Chuck -
________________________________ Your grandmother, took very good care of you! Grandmothers are cool! They know how to take care of their grandchildren... food! I've always enjoyed trying different foods of other countries. Greek food is some of the best, out there. Chuck

I know, the last time I had a "the heck with it" moment was in Krispy Kreme. I only wanted to get coffee... When it comes to burgers Micky-D has probably worse ingredients but they both pack a whollop in the calorie department. Believeit or not, I didn't eat my first burger until about three month ago. Ground meat used to scare me but I trust Whole Foods!

_______________________________________ You didn't mention Ben & Jerry's! What kinda poll is that? Ferget that Dairy Queen crap and all that imitation garbage! When I want ice cream, I want Ben & Jerry's 'Gobfather' or 'Everything But The...'! Did you know, there is an ingredient found in chocolate that is also found in 'weed'? That's why, when you got the blues, chocolate really helps! Chuck

Same here, if I want a burger I go to Whole Foods, pick one up and make it myself! DEEEEELICIOUS! Same goes for pizza and sandwiches. ________________________________________ You got it! There's a little 'country cookin' type cafe, here in town that makes the best burger in the world! That's about the oly place, I'll get a burger. Otherwise, I'm like you... I'll make it myself! Chuck I'm a stickler for knowing what I ingest... There is nothing wrong with good old fashioned comfort food, but only if you can pronounce the ingredients... ___________________________________________ I am too but, sometimes, I just say 'the heck with it'. I thought that Micky-D's and Burger King were the worst???? Chuck

______________________________________ As I said, I 'rarely' eat at Sonic. As for Outback? The last time I was in an Outback, I had a 'gift certificate' and the food was horrible. The steak I had tasted like a garbage truck ran over it. Maybe, it's just the one in my area. Chuck
