Why does Mexico encourage immigration into the US?
masterrig replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
it's called 'free trade' -
The Blackhawks need to re-group and quit being so sloppy in their play. They got lucky last night when Kopecky scored the game winner. They did manage to hold on to the one goal lead. It could very well have been the other way around. Go Blackhawks! Chuck

And what's up with those damn Irish-Americans waving Irish flags and dancing around dressed up like leprechauns on the 17th of March every year. And don't even get me started on the Italians! Amirite?!? I guess, I just don't understand defending and wanting to protect 'law-breakers'. Seems to me, those who you mentioned are Americans... U.s. citizens. To me, comparing illegals with legals is like apples and oranges. Chuck There are quite a lot of illegal Irish in the USA as it happens. So his analogy was a good one. An then there are the Poles on Pulaski Day. Lots of illegal Poles here too. What threw me was, he said, 'Irish-Americans'. that would lead me to believe he was referring to Irish-American 'citizens'. I'm quite certain there are people from all over the world, here illegally. What keeps me confused is the way folks group legals with illegals. Chuck

I really get a kick out of the way politicians back-pedal when they get caught. They really do believe they are so smart and the public is so stupid. They are no different than any other crook when they get caught. Chuck

Something I don't understand... all these illegals, along with white protestors, chant their displeasure with the laws in Spanish and wave Mexican flags!? Seems to me, if, they want to stay in the U.S., they'd wave U.S. flags and shout in English. This tells me, they want it both ways and don't want to learn English or support OUR flag. Chuck

Meh - it's just an overly active game of curling anyway. Curling on speed? Chuck

That was the kind of game Bettman has wanted throughout the League. Fast and furious and high scoring. I saw so many mistakes by both teams. Chicago was quite sloppy at times as was Philly. It was just a matter of who would score the game winner. Noone held the lead until later in the third for more than 5-minutes. For me, it was like you said... difficult to watch. Chuck
-
What a close game! 2:00 left in the third Chicago leads 6-5! Go Blackhawks! 23-sec. left in the 3rd. Yeeee-ha! Chuck

A few years ago, when I was hauling propane, I was filling a customer's tank. The owner approached with a cigarette in his mouth. I asked him to either back-off or put the cigarette out. His reply... "If, your're not scared of it... it won't hurt you!" He did put the cigarette out but only at my second request. Chuck He thought it was a dog or horse? I have no idea. I don't think, intelligence was high on his list of attributes. Chuck

I think he was talking about the Texas winters, wasn't he? And nope, not the brightest thing to say. Something like that. I really don't pay much attention, like a lot of others, to him. He's just one of those with too much money and no sense. Chuck

He needed his ass whooped... still does, for that matter!! Chuck

We are. Amazon has a basic good idea, we can be compassionate and helpful without being as goat-fuck stupid about border security as we've been for years.[/repl To the point that small towns, on THIS side of the border are being intimidated, school busses are being followed by drug cartel members and school activities are being cancelled because of it. Chuck

M'am, I couldn't agree more. The local PD's and Sheriff's offices do have the authority to uphold the Federal laws. The way i see it, Arizona is trying to do something about the problem. At the very least, they're getting attention from Washington in regard to the problem. Like you, I don't want to see the police there become a joke. My wife, works security for a company that owns some huge greenhouses in the area. All their workers are Mexican Nationals. Every day, vans pick them up at the border in Presidio and take them back each night. It works! We've had other 'worker programs' in the past that worked. Businesses chose to skirt the laws and those programs failed. Your suggestion is a damned good one. Chuck

QuoteAS much as I abhor the new law in Arizona... I have to send out a big WTF to the Mexican government whining about it. They go a HELL of a lot farther towards some really screwed up police state shit, if you have ever been there and experienced truly inspired police corruption . The Mexican laws on so many things are diametrically opposite to what our laws are.... Just try BUYING land there as a non Mexican citizen. They already have laws on the books similar to Arizona.. although they take it to great extremes compared to the paltry deport them home that we go for. Other side of the Border TULTITLN, Mexico — Arizona's new law forcing local police to take a greater role in enforcing immigration law has caused a lot of criticism from Mexico, the largest single source of illegal immigrants in the United States. But in Mexico, illegal immigrants receive terrible treatment from corrupt Mexican authorities, say people involved in the system. And Mexico has a law that is no different from Arizona's that empowers local police to check the immigration documents of people suspected of not being in the country legally. "There (in the United States), they'll deport you," Hector Vázquez, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, said as he rested in a makeshift camp with other migrants under a highway bridge in Tultitlán. "In Mexico they'll probably let you go, but they'll beat you up and steal everything you've got first."[/reply The Mexican government gets their panties in a wad because we won't take them all in so they don't have to deal with them. I'm tired of people in this country wanting to save and protect them. They're illegally here, they're breaking our laws. I am so much in favor of sealing our border so we can get control of it and better regulate who comes into this country. It's not our problem that their country is so corrupt. We've tried many, many times to help them and the money winds-up somewhere other than where it was intended to go. Once again, if, they want to come here... let them do it the right way or they can stay home. Mexico has no say in how we run our country. They damned sure don't want us telling them how to run their country. They don't like it... too damned bad! Chuck

Some time ago the local paper ran an article on a woman who was turning 100 yrs old. The reporter asked her about all of the changes she had seen in life & she replied: 'I hate changes.' JerryBaumchen I asked an old cowboy about all the change he had seen. His response; "I've seen a lot of change in my life and never liked a damned one of 'em!" Chuck The only thing that never changes is ~things change. Yup. Not a whole hell I can do about it. I guess, it's like one of our locals who ran for governor once said; "It's like rape! It's inevitible... lay-back and enjoy it!" Cost that dumb-ass the election, too! Chuck

Emergency services, which they're getting, is completely different than Medicare. I would hope that whoever you are in whatever part of the world you are you're never denied access to emergency services. It's a pretty basic part of simply being human. I totally agree with your thinking to a point. If, they're getting free medical help, who knows what else they are getting for free, using false ID. Chuck

And that's fine as long as you are also seeing the things he's included that are not true. Right off the top of my head, undocumented immigrants don't have access to welfare or Medicaid. Hell, LEGAL immigrants don't have access to welfare until after a certain period of time (I think it's five years, but I might be wrong). http://www.migrationinformation.org/feature/display.cfm?ID=45 I do know, illegals here in the area where I live, hospitals won't turn them down and I wouldn't expect them to but they don't pay and those of us seeking medical help pay higher costs to 'cover' the indigent illegals. I asked about that... point blank, of the hospital and my insurance company. Doesn't quite seem fair. Chuck
-
People who try to inter-mingle 'illegals' and 'legals' as one group, drive me nuts. I think, it's their way of 'protecting' law breakers. Their 'let 'em all in' policy is going to ruin this country. Chuck

I like what he's saying and actually, see a lot of truth in it. He's always been a bit 'edgy'. Chuck

I remember as a kid lookin' forward to each afternoons' show. Me too! I remember one kid on his show, Art asked him if, he could be any animal in the world, what would it be? The kid responded; 'An octopus! Then, I could wrap my testicles around all the people and love them!" Chuck

I think, it's just Ray Stevens satire. I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Chuck
