Article IV, Section 1 of the Constitution - the "Full Faith and Credit" clause. "Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state." That means that your driver's license (or other state-issued ID) *is* your "national ID card". Thank you, Mike!!! That about sums it up. So, what seems to be some people's problem? Chuck Well, it's not a perfect solution - *any* form of ID can be faked, given time. True story! Surely, our government could come-up with something with at least a high level of difficulty to copy!? I feel, we really need to do something... at least Arizona has stood-up! Chuck

Check the good judge's resume and get back to me. Check his resume? Hell, check his computer! Chuck

http://www.fake-documents.com/fake_birth_certificate.htm I don't think the average German thought that on January 30, 1933, either. I do believe, we've learned from that and besides, there's too many out there to remind us. I realize, anything can happen but spreading fear doesn't help. If, people would use their heads for more than a hat-rack, things might be better. Chuck

Could happen. Philly did it. Chuck How many of us thought Philly would come back against Boston? You need 4 wins to win an NHL playoff series. Chicago isn't there yet. However the fat lady has booked her seat to be at game #4 and she plans on attending every game left in the Hawks/Sharks series. Glad I am not a Sharks fan. My team is only down 2-1 in their series, but they too could find themselves in big trouble soon. I'm watching the game right now and it's fast and furious. I don't want to jinx them but... I think, the Canadiens can do it. Halak has been great. Chuck

I was using a birth cirtificate only as an example. A national ID card would be great. Folks could surely, squeeze that in amongst all their credit cards. not to mention, the simplicity of a national ID card. I can go with that. Chuck

Back in 1976 I did some recon in this area. It was scary then, don't know if I would even enter that territory alone in these times. Thanks for posting that! People need their eyes opened. If, we continue to maintain this 'open door' policy, there's no telling what can happen. If, cheap labor and big money for big business is more important than our country, something is dreadfully wrong. If, carrying my birth certificate with me can help secure our nation... I don't have a problem with that. I don't have the slightest fear that the U.S. will become a 'police state', either. People need to wake-up and 'see' what is really happening. I'm afraid, it's 'all about the money'. Looks to me like, too many people in this country would rather have wealth than a 'secure' nation. Let me put it this way... I've never seen a luggage rack on a hearse! Chuck

Could happen. Philly did it. Chuck I don't think lightning is going to strike twice this year. The Sharks played hard tonight. That was a fast & furious game. The last two goals by the Hawks were things of beauty...Bolland's breakaway and Bolland's pass to Byfuglien for the game winner. I didn't get to see the game but after the Blackhawks won the first two games on the Sharks home ice, it didn't look good for the Sharks. I think, the Blackhawks have a better chance of a sweep than the Sharks do of winning the series. The Blackhawks have a good team this year. Chuck

Considering that most of the weapons used by the drug cartels are purchased from the Mexican Army, yeah. Most of those weapons were paid for by the U.S. to HELP Mexico fight the cartels! Chuck

Why does Mexico encourage immigration into the US?
masterrig replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
Are you going for the understatement of the year award? Why is it our responsibility? I didn't say it was our responsibility. What I said was, it might be in our long term interest to help Mexico with its economy. If you want less Mexicans crossing the border illegally, you've got to eliminate their motivation to do so. Why do you think we hardly ever hear about illegal immigrants from Canada? I think High Voltage electric fences would be better - of course - there would need to be a lot of warning signs put up - but I think it would work! The U.S. could use wind energy to supply electricity to the fence. That would keep the greenies happy too! Chuck -

I agree and a sense of deja vu is part of why I have a tough attitude towards illegal immigration even though I'm a liberal Democrat in most other respects. We've already tried amnesty once (in 1986) but it was supposed to be a one shot deal. If we do it again, we will send a strong message internationally that all you need to do is game the system for awhile and every generation or so everyone gets legalized. That's a terrible message to be sending if we want to be taken seriously internationally. Excellent point! Bottom line... it's true. Of course, the bleeding hearts feel we should just let them all in but, at the rate our population is growing, we can't handle the strain. Besides, it is not our position to take care of the world and be taken for a bunch of suckers. Chuck -
Why does Mexico encourage immigration into the US?
masterrig replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
We've poured a lot of money into Mexico. For example, we trained their people and supplied weapons to help them fight the drug cartels. The drug cartels made better offers to those we trained and they now work for the cartels. As crooked as their political system is, we'd just be pouring good money after bad. I think, the Mexican government just doesn't want to have to deal with their people in the poorer sections of their country. Shove them off on us... problem solved. Chuck -

So logically, all those that are in favor of the Mexican influx of immigrants, and the Mexican goverments support of illegal immigration, they are actually in favor of making Mexico our next welfare project. Reconquista.... they wanna kick some ass in Tejas this time. Some of us kick back! chuck -
All kidding aside... you're right! In the new NHL, anything can happen and with parity throughout... who knows. Whoda' thunk, Montreal would be where they are an Washington where they are. Chuck

Next two games in Chi-town. This is where the Sharks turn belly-up. Chuck

You know this? How? Please give numbers. no. you know god damn well he uses far more energy than the average person by a large order of magnitude. if the man truly believed we were is a climate crisis he would live more like ed begley jr. Oh no! Only the very-very best for the 'poster boy' of saving the environment. I can't believe that people really buy into what he's selling. P.T. was right! Chuck

I have read the bill twice. I never saw any language in it where they are required to pull every one over that fits a discription under threat of suit. That is just a BS terror tactic to sway the uninformed to your way of thinking. There is explicit language in the bill to say you cant do that. That’s why I am lost at these guys. Also the AZ bill is writen just like the fed. law. Also, local police agengies may also enforce the federal laws. They are doing that now in regard to various Federal grants issued to border sheriff departments. With these grants, border sheriff depts. can purchase the necessary equipment and manpower to 'assist' the U.S. Border Patrol in apprehending illegals. Chuck

OK, let's say you're walking down a public street in the US (not driving a motor vehicle, which requires a license) and are stopped and asked to prove your citizenship. But dang, you left your wallet, with your Official Government-issued Citizenship Card and your driver's license at home. Solely for that, you're arrested and taken down to the police station. If you don't have a problem with that, then you're willing to live in a different United States of America than I am. Excuse me but... BULLSHIT! You folks out there, scared to death that all of a sudden, we're going to turn into a police state is totally un-founded fear and rumor mongering. Gimme a break! If, it does come to where we can be stopped and asked for proof of citizenship... just make sure you have your paperwork with you. Otherwise, sit in the slammer till they run your name through their records and kick your own ass for being forgetful. No personal disrespect, Chuck, but I call bullshit to your bullshit. If you're willing to have a country where a citizen must always carry his "papers" with him while he's walking down a public street, or sit in the slammer for failing to do so, then - as I said - you're willing to accept a different United States of America than I am. All bullshit aside... It's done in every other country in the world. We're just a little behind things in that regard. When you go to Mexico or Europe... don't you carry the necessary paperwork to prove who you are? I think, you're putting the cart before the horse. That's o.k., too. I just don't have a problem with it. Chuck
