  1. As a matter of fact... I do! I'm good to go! Chuck
  2. What's the problem? This law makes everyone equal in the eyes of the 'law'. Isn't that what we all have been wanting lo, all these years. Chuck
  3. OK, let's say you're walking down a public street in the US (not driving a motor vehicle, which requires a license) and are stopped and asked to prove your citizenship. But dang, you left your wallet, with your Official Government-issued Citizenship Card and your driver's license at home. Solely for that, you're arrested and taken down to the police station. If you don't have a problem with that, then you're willing to live in a different United States of America than I am. Excuse me but... BULLSHIT! You folks out there, scared to death that all of a sudden, we're going to turn into a police state is totally un-founded fear and rumor mongering. Gimme a break! If, it does come to where we can be stopped and asked for proof of citizenship... just make sure you have your paperwork with you. Otherwise, sit in the slammer till they run your name through their records and kick your own ass for being forgetful. Chuck
  4. And if you've read any of my posts in all the immigration threads, you'd know that I've specifically debunked this talking point, as naive, about 23 times. Do a search; I'm tired of typing it. . . . and the response to your debunkment was "prove it." No one here doubts that there may be some limited cases of which you speak. Look on the bright side, we could use those incidents to better the departments and weed out the bad apples. Fully 1/3 of the AZ DPS is of Latin decent. I don't really see where profiling has much to stand on here, unless the gringos do all the profiling, right? All that aside, AZ has no authority to actually do ANY of the deportation, only turning suspected illegals over to the federal government for processing and verification. It may not be the individual that has directly caused this problem to escalate to this point. It may only be the politicians that have let things get to this point. But things have escalated to this point and most Americans believe it is the right thing to do. It is WAY PAST time to fix the problem. This is the best solution there is at this point, as it is the only one that involves actual action. Sorry if I have little sympathy for a little inconvenience that it will take in order to make the US a better place, and reduce the occurances of people doing illegal and unlawful things in our coutry. It appears to me, that too many people in this country are too willing to just let anyone into this country... with a just 'come on in' attitude. Meanwhile, we are getting an element coming into this country illegally who have absolutely no interest in helping or improving our country but rather to take all they can get while breaking our laws. What absolutely astounds me is, the number of people in this country who make excuses for them and actually help them. They should be charged wit 'aiding and abetting'! Just because some people in this country haven't been directly affected by the criminal element coming into this country, doesn't mean it doesn't exist... it's growing at a rapid rate. We have some very good immigration laws on the books already. We don't need more, we just need to strictly enforce the laws we have. Chuck
  5. Hear! Hear! I was in Germany in '72. The Polizei simply walked up to me on the street and asked if I had papers. No, I did not. I was there illegally since my visa had run out and I had lost my passport. Arrested for immigration violation and deported. No muss, no fuss, and rightfully done. Kudos to AZ. Screw you bleeding hearts. All you're doing is encouraging illegals to continue on...business as usual. My only problem is that since American citizens are not required to carry ID of any sort, how does one prove citizenship or identification on the street without being detained until "proof" can be secured. You can't so it's a Catch 22. The simple solution is to carry citizenship and ID papers in your wallet. Not a big deal, eh? #1!!! I don't have a problem with being asked for proof of citizenship or identification. As you pointed-out, every other country in the world does it. I don't see it infringing on my rights, either. I'm a natural born citizen of the U.S.A and proud of it. An ID card doesn't take-up that much room in a wallet. Any time you get stopped for a driving infraction, you must show a valid driver's license and proof of insurance and maybe, the registration for the vehicle. What's the difference? I guess, some folks are just too good for that and just can't be bothered. Chuck
  6. Maybe the US could print and distribute the pamphlets; if we told them when and where to cross, we could get them to walk right onto the Border Patrol vans, instead of having to search all over the desert for them. Are you joking? Can't take a chance on hurting his feelings! Chuck Seriously, I would hope Obama read Fox the riot act over blatantly encouraging violation of US law. Don
  7. I doubt that and there is no evidence of that, it was just a good political move and it kept approval rating from sliding any further in some arenas. I guess, I let that one get right by me. Chuck
  8. I don't think, that would fly but it sounds good! Slap a fine on them for each illegal we apprehend. That way, they couldn't afford to print pamplets containing information on the best times and places to cross, what to take with them on their long walk to sneak into this country. By the way... how can people trust a 'sneak'? Chuck
  9. What really bothers me is, I hear how illegals 'live in fear' of being picked-up and sent home because they're here illegally. People in this country wanting to 'protect' them. Even politicians. The President of Mexico is against Arizona's law. I take that as, he doesn't want his own people or have to deal with them or their plight. To me, it's simple. they are law breakers and should be dealt with. If, they 'live in fear', it's fear by their own making. How we run our country or deal with illegals from Mexico, is none of the Mexican President's business. He sure, doesn't want or pay any attention to how he runs his country. This is our country... not Mexico's. We keep going the way we are and it just might be. Chuck
  10. I gave up on those turd-blossoms when they started to only support fringe right idiots that epitomized the far right wing of the GOP. I have not seen them support anyone OTHER than rePUBIClowns for many years now. It appeared to me that these folks were really trying to do good. Like you, I had faith in them but then they just turned to crap. They hounded me to death, for a donation. Even after repeated requests to remove me from their call list. The guy that did the calling sounded like his nickname was 'Knuckles'! Chuck
  11. Seems like, he's changed his thinking. In this case... a good thing. Chuck
  12. One part of the solution is to go after the employers of these people. The other part is to make the border harder to cross. The final part is to do things to make staying at home an attractive option. We're spending billions to create economic opportnity in places like Yemen, Afghanistan, and Djibouti. Let's direct some of that attention to our own side of the world. I agree with that. Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again... just try, sneaking into Mexico without the proper papers and see what happens. Our biggest problems are... too many 'bleeding hearts' and too many spineless, money grubbing politicians!!! Chuck
  13. He signed the Act allowing guns in National Parks. I believe that is the only action he has taken relating to guns. On the whole it seems that the gun lobby scare tactics were misplaced. Not that I expect the scare tactics to stop. I had forgotten that one. Good move on his part. I haven't bought into the scare tactics. They made no sense to me and well... just sounded like 'scare tactics' One thing I did notice was, the NRA started soliciting money over the phone and even brought out the scare tactics like they were 'real'. They were quite aggressive in their fund raising. I backed away from them, too. Chuck
  14. It's amazing, how much air-play the NHL gets in European countries. Pierre and Milbury need to gather-up Cindy Crosby and get a room!!! Their incessant babbling and love-fest about Crosby during non Penguin games is obscene. I guess, they didn't get the memo... the Penguins are OUT of the play-offs.... sheeesh!!! Chuck
  15. I think, all those 'scare tactics' were just to make Obama look bad. During that time, I went to my local hardware store to look at the guns. All around the counter were anti Obama signs and how we were going to lose our guns and blah, blah, blah... I complained to the manager on the principle of keeping politics out of their store. the signs came-down and the clerk got canned. I really can't see where Obama has done anything either way, in regard to guns. I do believe, he does get swayed by his 'advisors' who want things their way. Chuck
  16. I dunno about that Chuck. The Flyers are a much tougher matchup than the Bruins imo. They are a better team than their regular season showed and had to come a long way back to make the playoffs. And, they have all the confidence in the world right now. I hope this was Montreal's bad game and I don't have a problem with Halak getting some rest...lord knows he needs a break from the intensity. That being said, there's nothing I'd like more than the Habs taking them out but I think they are a tougher team for them to beat than either Pittsburgh or Washington. Well, I was trying to think positive. Right now, it ain't lookin' good. Chuck Right now I think the Habs have a better chance of coming back than the Sharks. I think the Sharks are done after losing the first two at home. At least Montreal goes home for Game 3 and the crowd in Montreal will be going wild. I think the Habs have lots of fight left in them but I sure don't have that feeling about San Jose. I'm sure not going to give-up on them. You never know, Philly just might get cocky, thinking they've got it in the bag. By now, Montreal should have Philly figured-out. They still have 5 more chances and I don't think, they'll squander those opportunities. All the announcers talk about how loud the Sharks fans are... wait'll they get to Chicago! Chuck

  18. I don't know... looks to me like this is where the Sharks... 'tank'! Chuck
  19. ...and we can start calling it the Hossa Curse Great! He's brought bad luck to three teams who were in strong contention for the Cup. Chuck
  20. I dunno about that Chuck. The Flyers are a much tougher matchup than the Bruins imo. I must admit, I share your feelings on this one. I was trying to think positive, on the bright side... Philly really 'gooned-up', this year. Should Montreal not make it past the 'New Broadstreet Bullies', they gave it a heck of a try and made an impressive run at it. With the new NHL and parity, it's anyone's guess. Chuck
  21. Sure! Give the other guys a feeling of 'security' then... lower the boom on 'em! Chuck
  22. I'm going to have to agree with you there! the Canadiens don't want Hossa. I do want to see him cry tears big as horse turds when he misses the mark for the third time! Chuck
  23. Sneaky L'il devil... huh? Chuck
  24. Maybe, it doesn't mean much to all you 'newbie' hockey fans but to those of us who have been fans since before the Sharks were even a glimmer in the NHL's eye... it means something. For that matter... screw the Sharks... GO CHICAGO!!! GO HABS!!! Chuck
