  1. I think, the Sharks will tank... as usual! That should get something started! Chuck
  2. After Game 2..... Announcer : "I think Phoenix will be in a good mindset for Game 3.....they can build on the fact that they came back from a 4-0 deficit and made a game out of it." Poor Red Wings.....all they have to build on is a win.
  3. Go Habs! I really do hope, they do good this year. They've worked hard to get where they are and I love the fact they are beating Boston. I just don't like Chara and co. Sharks need to go down! Wings came real close to blowing it! Did you happen to see the 'between the legs' goal Datsyuk got? That guy is a magician! It was a thing of absolute beauty! Things here in West Texas have been fairly tense, with all the wildfires. I think, I'm easing-up a bit. Chuck
  4. DOH! I need to pay closer attention. Chuck
  5. Of all the teams in the Eastern Conference, I'd like to see the Canadiens go to the finals! I hope too, they take this win and build momentum and flat, knock-off the 'Broadstreet Bullies! Go Habs. The Wings finally, showed-up for the second period! They'd better show some effort or they'll be watching the play-offs from the big screen on the 19-th. hole! Go Wings! Chuck
  6. Are you saying I'm nasty? Chuck
  7. Taco Bell is just plain NASTY! Chuck
  8. The insider trading and SEC charges were all dropped. An interesting write up by Cato on the 'obstruction' charges. The last four paragraphs are interesting The whole article is interesting, to say the least... and yes, I did in fact read the entire article. Being he skeptic that I am, I still wonder about some points of the case. Then too, it's history, she served her time and paid her debt to society. Chuck
  9. How can you understand Martha Stewart? Her own greed drove her to break the law. She knew, she would be breaking the law and did it any way. She's a phony (claimed for years she was from New England and was really from New Jersey). Is her 'white collar' crime different from the blue collar crime of selling dope? Is this another case of someone being 'excused' because they are wealthy? The law is the law. A road-kill toad has more class than Martha Stewart. Chuck Well I don't know too much about that case, but since it's a white collar crime I can understand how some people might think it's not that big of deal or that she was wrongfully accused. This doesn't mean I feel that way. I really don't have an opinion either way, she broke the rules got caught and went to prison. Now Marion Jones was caught on tape smoking crack. No ambiguity there! Now, I see where you're coming from. It just seems to me that if a person has fame and fortune, they always get-off with the wink and a slap on the hand. I think, I became a bit blinded by that thought, in my response. They can work deals and get charges dropped or reduced to nothing. Chuck

  11. Amazing! I had forgotten that. Chuck
  12. I can believe it. If you didn't get sucked into Vietnam, then the 1965-1975 era (when inflation started getting ugly) would kick ass. I have to admit, the Viet Nam thing had me nervous. For one thing, I have never been able to handle humidity! I lost some friends and some of them who didn't come home in a box, were pretty tore-up. Something that really grabbed hold of me was the music! We were introduced to some really great British bands, Hendrix and all the rest. I didn't like the 'hippie thing', the dope damn sure didn't interest me. I had other choices. I was making good money and paying my bills. All in all, not a bad deal. Chuck
  13. Well, I'll have to check it out. I'm sure, our little ol' library has it... and I have a card! I'm not going to sit here and say that the era I mentioned was the 'best' but for me, it wasn't all that bad. I enjoyed it, really. I didn't pay that much attention to politics or world affairs. I did watch the evening news. I took care of, what I could and didn't worry about what I couldn't. Pretty simple. Chuck
  14. I think a lot of males who were of draft age might strongly disagree about the 60's and 70's. I guess, I've put that 'war' so far back in my memory bank, it didn't come to mind. Now that you mention it, I got pretty nervous on several occasions. When they had the lottery, my number was 354! That was televised, yes? How big a number still mattered? Could you turn off the TV/radio by the time it got to 100? Crazy times indeed ... makes me think of the Running Man. Yes, they were crazy times. I was probably too busy working, furthering my education and in the early 70's taking care of my 'new' wife and kids. Never saw The Running Man. One thing about it... ya' had ta' be tough! Chuck

  16. I'd have to say, the 50's, 60's and 70's. Seemed every day living was more laid-back and people weren't in such a hurry. We didn't have all these gadgets and gizmos that people today, just can't seem to live without. Kids could be kids and you did more as a family. Television programming seemed to be better. You had to use your imagination. Today, it's all 'reality' shows and dramas are so predictable. You could 'move' without being photographed or videoed. Now, it's 'all about me' and people don't seem to have that much respect for others or what's around them. Growing-up, folks 'earned' respect. Now, folks 'demand' respect. A friend was friend, a Coke was a Coke. I probably, would prefer to have lived 100-yrs. before that but for what I've experienced and the times I mentioned... wasn't too bad of a time. Chuck
  17. You're giving away your age Chuck ;-) Unfortunately, I also remember those days. Murray Oh! Uh... well... I read a lot about hockey!?
  18. It's a real shame. To think... Toronto was a 'power-house' at one time. Chuck
  19. I had a fight with a GF over her smoking. We were at a party, drinking, and I punched the wall. I didn't miss the stud. I drove myself to the hospital. I did the same thing! I never went to a hospital or doctor. I don't have a knuckle where my little finger meets my hand, either. Chuck
  20. I'm no liberal feminist defender by any means but shut the fuck up, seriously. There is never any excuse for violence against women, ever. Not even in self defense? Only if the woman comes at you with a weapon and means to try and inflict injury on you. Otherwise, just block her punches and kicks or walk away. Years ago my wife had a propensity to fly into a rage, and on only two occasions she launched into a flurry of fist-pounding on me. How did I respond? I put my fist through the wall. I had to repair both sides of the wall. I'm just glad I missed the stud, because I would have been driving myself to the ER. She wised up after that. Here's yer sign! Chuck

As I recall... yes, it was! Chuck
  22. You might save a couple bucks by going to a good hardware store, get a pair of (the right type) Vise-Grips and take them to a welder, along with a picture of what you want and he should be able to help you. After he welds them, get some 1/4" thick rubber and make pads for them and Epoxy in place. I was really fortunate. After I got my Senior ticket, my instructor sent me a huge box, containing all his tools, fabrics and all sorts of goodies. I realize, that just doesn't happen to everyone. Chuck

    Power naps

I have never been able to take a nap. It just screws me up the rest of the day. I go to bed about 10:30 at night and get-up about 6:30A.M. Chuck
  24. Yeah.. tht is so not going to happen...AT ALL I mean if the dude can't figure out that radioactive fly ash might not be the best building material... what can ya say... "Oh it has never hurt me one bit, so I think its safe to use"... says the great grandfather of the 4 armed 2 headed fleepr footed kids where they built homes with that shit back in the 2000's I know, that's right. I could see the dis-agreement lasting awhile but agreeing? Nope! Chuck
