  1. Reminds me of a ranch I work for. On it, there are caves with pictographs. There's still, soot on the ceiling of the cave from early fires, chips and failed attempts at someone making arrowheads. This Big Bend area is loaded with history. Looks like, you fellas had a good, as well as educational time. Very good pictures! Thanks for sharing. Chuck
  2. Rob pointed-out something I feel is most important in re-packing a reserve... finesse!!! Harness-containers as well as parachutes, are made fairly tough. Forcing material only leads to extra work in the form of un-wanted repairs. I learned to quit using paddles to get reserve parachutes in the free-bag and then, into the container. Easing the bagged reserve parachute into the container saves a lot of wear and tear on container flaps, also. I agree with Rob also in that women tend to have a corner on the market of 'finesse'. All the best of luck to you! Chuck
  3. I immediately noticed that too..........that was the most jump they've shown since early January, and they've been able to maintain that fire pretty well........not bad for a bunch of old farts.
  4. Ference gets a $2500.00 fine for flippin' the bird! Probably a little steep but all in all, he probably shouldn't have done it. Not a good example to the youth in the crowd but he was probably pretty frustrated with the situation. Chuck
  5. Too darn cool! Philly is going... DOWN ! Chuck
  6. They need it! Franzen needs his face to heal up. Zetterberg needs some TLC. We need his back BAD! I'm just glad everyone picked up the pace with some heavy hitters on the injury list. I get nervous whenever the Wings get too many days off! It seems as though it takes them a game or two to get back in the pace. On the other hand, it's been awhile since they've gotten any appreciable time-off and they need it now, more than ever. Franzen's face looked like he'd been in a train wreck, Zets needs to heal-up as well as Homer who always needs to heal-up and so-on. I'd like to see the Wings win the cup but the way Bettman has inflicted parity on the league, it's anybody's guess. With that... GO WINGS! Chuck
  7. It's a shame that Winnipeg might not be able to support a team. From all I've read, they really want a team. I say, blame Bettman for wanting hockey in the Southern U.S. It was tried before in Atlanta and the Flames moved to Calgary. Atlanta won't support hockey. I've seen so many minor clubs fail, just here in Texas. Down here, ice is for tea and rum and Coke! Bettman has slowly but surely ruined the NHL. He's taken the fun out of it. Banning the octopus from Detroit. That's BS! It was pretty 'nervy' of Ference to flip-off the fans and I'm sure, he'll pay dearly but maybe, he needed to let folks know where they stand. It sends a bad message to kids but heck, they probably know more than I do as an adult. I say; 'forget about it!' Chuck
  8. I've heard it played at Red Wings home games during local coverage with Mickey Redmond. I first heard it on 'Corner Gas'. Undoubtedly, one of the best shows on t.v.... EVER! It's a great song! Chuck
  9. Canada should scrap that anthem and adopt this one instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZWxErEbQkY I personally think, the Canadian Anthem is beautiful and touching. The U.S. Anthem on the other hand is just plain hard to sing and rarely sung good. Why we don't have 'America the Beautiful' instead... I'll never know. 'The Good Ol' Hockey Game' on the other hand should be manditorily played before every game! I love that song! Chuck
  10. Yes they do! But the rest of the team stepped up and made some great plays. Bertuzzi has been hittin hard with great puck control. Did you see that shot Cleary made? Bounce off the goalie from behind the pipe! Datsyuk was GOD in that series and of course Lidstrom was zippin shots all over. And who can forget Knonwell knockin the hell out of guys and makin some killer goals too! The last 3 weeks of the season had me worried but The Wings woke up for the playoffs. GO WINGS! The first period of the first game, the Wings looked like they did for the last 2-months of the regular season... chicken fried crap! They came-back in the 2nd. period looking like a totally different team and never slowed down till the the last whistle of the last period of game 4. One announcer said they were just trying to drive Babcock nuts! The entire team got in there and did more than was needed to win the series. Also, they have several days rest ahead of them, unlike past years when it was... end regular season, start play-offs, start next round, start next round... with little or no break. They've got everything on their side, this year. They're playing great and as long as they stay healthy, they should do real good. GO WINGS!!! Chuck
  11. Not just yet, Hawks are going to put up a fight. No they aren't. That last game was a dead cat bounce, nothing more. The Canucks look like shit and the Hawks look like Champs tonight...5-0 in the second. If the Hawks win at home in Game 6 I think they will beat the Canucks. The Blackhawks look like they have the Canucks figured-out. I think, Chicago can win the series. What I'm curious of is, what is going to happen to the Coyotes, since The Wings 'swept' them? That's the NHL's team and had a big boost from Bettman. They could wind-up back in Canada. Strange deal. Chuck
  12. Not just yet, Hawks are going to put up a fight. No they aren't. That last game was a dead cat bounce, nothing more. Of course the Wings will have to get by San Jose first (the series to watch next round). No step for a stepper! The Wings can handle San Jose! Go Wings! Chuck
  13. Hopefully, Chuck! A rest to get Franzen back to 100% and Zetterberg back in the game. GO WINGS!! The Wings really need those two guys... healthy! They both take a beating in any game. I really had a feeling, before last nights game, The Wings were going to lose that one. You gotta know, I was pleased to see them win. Bring on the Canucks. The Wings have beaten them before and they can beat them again! Go Wings! Chuck
  14. Noone can say the Coyotes didn't try. I'm curious to see what effect this has on whether or not they stay in Phoenix. All in all, it was a good series. Now, who are the Wings going to meet next? A little extra rest won't hurt. Go Wings!!! Chuck
  15. Seems that some of the best music came from musicians getting high. Louis Armstrong might had never wrote "What a Wonderful World" if not for his life long use of the "Beautiful Gage", as he called it.
  16. What does "hugging convicts" have to do with refusing to cooperate with the DOJ, and trying to bogusly press charges against the Board of Supervisors, judges, and attorneys. Did you read this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Arpaio#Feud_with_Maricopa_County_Board_of_Supervisors_and_Maricopa_Superior_Court I see, what you're saying. Chuck
  17. Nope! Don't like megalomaniacs. If, Arpaio wasn't doing his job and doing it right, after what, three terms... someone would've said something by now. Just a buncha whining 'convict huggers'. Chuck
  18. Or slept through it! Personally, I like what Sheriff Arpaio is doing. I think, he's got the right idea. Chuck
  19. Don't want your pic shown, don't get booked. Don't like sleeping in a tent outside in the Arizona heat wearing pink clothing and eating baloney sammiches ...don't break the law. ...after all, it's JAIL! It ain't Club Med, for cryin' out loud. Chuck
  20. Another good show is... 'Alvin Crow and the Pleasant Valley Boys'. Another Texas Swing band. Saw them at 'The Broken Spoke' in Austin. I've seen them with Asleep at the Wheel... heckuva show. Chuck
  21. Habs didn't pull it off tonight and Chara is back for this game. The Canadiens will be back and take the series! The Wings have a two goal lead in this game... one more period. Hope, the Wings can keep the lead and get the win. Chuck
  22. I never really had the money to go to concerts but the (to me) best concert I ever attended was 'The Rolling Stones: Bridges to Babylon' Texas Speedway Fort Worth. My wife got the tickets through a radio call-in contest. It was a looong wait from the first time I saw them on Ed Sullivan! Willie Nelson in Odessa, Texas was another great one. Chuck
  23. 'Got Live if You Want it' The Rolling Stones Can't recall the exact title but... Rod Stewart and The Small Faces. For being drunk or drugged-up at the time, they really had some 'tight' music and talented musicians. John Mayall and the Blues Breakers. chuck
  24. I gotta agree. I don't see the Sharks 'lightin' a fire'. Then too... stranger things have happened and this is the 'New NHL'! Chuck
  25. You, me, and a few million people in Montreal.... Chara is just a bigger version of Pronger. Last year, during the regular season (2009 - 2010), Pavel Datsyuk caught Chara in a corner, slammed him so hard that Chara actually went down on the ice! I loved it! Chuck
