  1. Well i know my wingsuit had some m18 residue on it from the day before, and the lady swabed around the area where the smoke residue was but the machine either didn't pick it up.. not sure if it should have or not.
  2. I musta missed that this was going on.. hmm.. oh well went with the crew dawgs to this seafood reasturant and brainstormed some "Extreme crew" ideas we are kicking around :)
  3. Guys! Thought you'd be interested in knowing my experience when I went to the ballunar festival this past weekend.. aside from the festival being kick ass! (more on that in another post) when I was coming home I had the following happen. I have my gear in a big gear bag, which I was doing carry on with. On the way down (from washington, dc) i picked a screener who didn't even stop the conveyor belt as she was running it through - so I had no problems whatsoever. On the way back they ran it through then went through the outside pocket and took my cameras out, ran it through again and said, "are you a skydiver?" I responded with yes, and they opened up the big portion where the rig was.. then one of the TSA ladies said "oh wait, he has a parachute.. we need to call a supervisor, that's what the instructions say" I was like, what? actual instructions for how to deal with a parachute? no shit! They said they just came out last week, she proceded to pull out a TSA manual and i had a quick glance at it.. so the supervisor came over, did a "hand inspection" where she (as well as the xray operator) managed to miss a good 8 inch hook knife on my wingsuit (forgot to put it in my checked baggage) anyway, she did a "hand inspection" where she basicaly ran her hands up and down the rig and my suit squeezing it as if it were some girl's leg or something, then did the "bomb rub" on it with the little patch.. then sent me on my way. So it's official, as of last week the TSA screeners have actual instructions on how to handle parachutes. On a different note, those of you who were breaking the rules by turning your cell phone while the plane has been taxing.. well, as of the 15th of this month you're no longer breaking it.. if you still want to live on the edge you can turn on your pager or laptop which are still against the rules... this only applies to taxing to the gate, if you turn it on while taxing away from the gate you're still breaking the rules.. not sure the logic there, but oohkay.

  11. Yeah, bring him to West Point for that weekend of the 5th-7th (Casa is coming out maybe mid-day or early afternoon on the 5th). He can go to Orange and Louisa on the other weekends, but this is one not to be missed. Jim also has a couple of Birdman suits to rent, so maybe you can get some people to do some birdman jumps with you, too! Cool i have my spare gti if it'll fit someone who is experienced down there.
  12. How can you tell that from the color, when you don't even know what the color looked like when it started out new? So are you saying everyone is wrong, it's the newest thing out on the market? :) I'd have to venture to say based on the looks of not only the color but the gear that it is older.. And if that isn't the color when it "started off new" then it definately has seen some years.. so how old is the question?

  16. uh.. yeah. NEW YORK -- A Phish is on the hook for endangering the welfare of a minor after he allegedly tried to take pictures of a young girl inside a deserted boathouse, according to a report. Mike Gordon, 38, was arrested after being found late at night in a secluded area with a 9-year-old girl. The girl's parents raised an alarm when she disappeared from a backstage area at Jones Beach Theater, WNBC-TV reported. But following private conversations between the band's manager and the child's parents, there's a question about whether the band's bassist will avoid facing that charge. New York State Park Police say Gordon showed a different side after a concert last week by The Dead. Investigators say Gordon -- who calls himself "Cactus" -- was an invited guest backstage at Jones Beach. He was not invited, they say, to take a 9-year-old girl to an isolated location behind the theater. "The area is actually like a work area for state employees who operate boats out of that area," said Maj. Richard O'Donnell, of the New York State Park Police. "It's a darkened area, not intended for public access." O'Donnell, who is the region's commanding officer, would not discuss what the bass player told officers when he was found with the child on a dock. But a police report obtained by WNBC-TV reveals "The defendant stated he wanted to take 'art photos' of the victim." Police confirm that Gordon has never been convicted of any crime. Law enforcement sources said that after the band member was arrested, he told officers, "I may have shown bad judgment, but I am not a pedophile." The Law enforcement sources identify the girl's father as a leader of the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club, whom they say had also been invited backstage to watch The Dead concert. Gordon was held for police by theater security "and the victim's father's associates -- which the police report decribes as other Hell's Angels members. When responding to a request for an interview, Phish's manager e-mailed a joint statement from Gordon and the child's parents that reads: "It is now clear to all involved that this was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and we look forward to putting this matter behind us." Later, in a conference call, the manager said Gordon's trying to "make amends" with the family. The girl's father added that "muckraking journalists should put the story to rest." Both declined to discuss whether the musician is paying compensation. When asked by WNBC-TV if there was any reasonable explanation for Gordon to have been with the girl at 1:00 AM in a secluded boat house, Maj. O'Donnell of the State Park Police said "I have no explanation for it." The commander says he "absolutely" stands by the police investigation and has referred the bass player's boathouse rendezvous case to the Nassau County district attorney for prosecution. The DA's office says the evidence is being evaluated. Regardless of whether Gordon has to face a judge next month, law-enforcement sources say unofficial justice was already delivered. The Hell's Angels, who detained Gordon for police, were not, the sources say, gentle with sensitive areas of the rock star's body.
  17. grommet to pin means the grommet where the bridle comes out is packed up against your pin, i.e. you rotate the dbag 90 degrees so the bridle is coming straight up, can be tough with big dbags
