    It is all how you fly. I exit with the tandems but end up flying around in circles and burning off altitude.. you could wait longer and fly straight to them.... with the crew we'd dump out crew people 3 miles prior (since they were dumping right out the door) fly down to the dz drop the freeflyers out then do a 180 and fly back to the crew.. as soon as we were over the crew (or a few seconds later) we'd get out and fly to them.. intercepted them around 8K 7K feet.

    I'd say a lot of mine are within 5 feet.. did my closest ones during ballunar with 12 way crew formations, they could feel my burble as I went by and I remember looking down as I was flying over and seeing canopy within 5 feet of me :) here is only one of the jumps here

    that is what i was asking, i.e. a birdman instructor INSTRUCTOR. I don't know what BMCI stands for.. who are the 4? I thought it was just jari and rob..

    I think it stands at 10 or 11 DZ.commers for the biggest flock. We knocked that one out in WFFC I believe. Call me if your having troubles with the measurements and I'll square you away. I dream of an otter full of nothing but birdmen and birdwomen.. ahhh..

    Deuce, On the order form right under "My birdman model" it says "(The S3 comes standard with these options: hook knife pocket, front air deflectors and padded knees!)" I guess you could opt to not have them for some strange reason..

    Unless BM changed something, the S3 comes with almost all the options. I added the base BOC to mine which i use all the time. Not required but I like it..

    however it seems they unlike Wal~mart they are not as community friendly as they should be. Ah but the people at walmart just take all the toys for tots and put them back on the shelf :-)

    Is the history of that article correct? I thought Jari met Robert (who was already thinking about doing wingsuits) in Arco, robert made one flew it some then sent it to deland for Jari to try.. and away it went. maybe i'm wrong, but since they already seemed to have mess the article up once i wouldn't be surprised if they took something Jari said and changed it around.

    ditto.. i don't know much about it, i know lew was / is active with the board. I don't know how much benifit it really gives you.. a belly flyer will still be able to fly right with you, and my rigger (who used to actively jump the boards) said your forward speed really isn't that great.. the footage you see just makes it seem like they are hauling ass on the board. With a wingsuit you have very obvious advantages over normal skydiving and the risk is worth it for those advantages.. as far as skysurfing goes i'm not real sure what the advantages are, other than you can spin real quick which seems to be disadvantage if you're not skilled enough to stop it. Then again all this is coming from someone who hasn't had a board on their feet before.

    But correct me if i'm wrong, even a 1:1 loading on a reserve is still going to open (if packed correctly) in under 3 - 4 seconds right?

    s3 is actually not that hard to "fly" safely. If you want to fly the S3 for what it's worth, it is a lot more strenuous on your arms. The two suits definately do feel like they fly differently.. when I first got my S3 I liked my GTI better until I really learned how to fly it. (i'm still learning stuff as it is).. you'll love it!
