the largest difference is the fall rate. you can fall in the 40's and 50's vertically as opposed to 120mph without a wingsuit. this also allows you to cover more distance horizontally. i'm surprised you weren't able to find that in these forums :)

i asked this way back when I was purchasing and was told that jari had some suits with over 800 jumps on them. I have less than 150 on my s3 and already was having problems. One of the stitches from the tail rib came loose and started unravelling.. this could have very easily been snagged on something, etc.. it could have been a defect i'm not sure - i'm pretty careful with my suits. Anyway i found an awesome rigger who has done all my mods that i dream up as well as the fixes to the wingsuit. so to answer your question if you take care of it it should last you at least 800 jumps :) Kevin

so will we start seeing this design in other rigs anytime soon?

Woah, who did you do one with? :) -
cool, so they had a rigger there on hand to repack it over and over again so others could jump it?

This is actually more common than you may think with new wingsuit pilots. Arch more and relax.. Welcome to the flock!

that's nuts how much that book is ! you can get it for 262, here that's nuts too

the idea of wingsuits have been around since before you were born .. so i'm sure you weren't the first to come up with it :) if you'd like to check out a tried-and-true wingsuit design, check out birdman, inc not every invention or idea is patented out there... Kevin

Well i did a full review of the neptune here shortly after I got it, and also found a bug during night jumps here . All the gripes I had in the first review have pretty much been taken care of, and the problem with the night jump has been fixed as well. Again, I don't use mine as an audible so having to choose between two for an audible i don't know what to say. I use my protrak as an audible, the neptune is cheaper than a protrak and does more so i'd say it's a better value. When I first started jumping the neptune the times and ff speeds were off by a significant amount, but after a few jumps it got better and now it's pretty much the same as the protrak (except of course when I fly for more than 119 seconds).... the neptune has had issues with reseting to 0, etc.. but these were flaws in the logic of the code which have since been "fixed" (i haven't had issues anymore with them). The neptune is a quickly developing product, from what I hear there are talks of a wingsuit version of it which i'm sure will also be available to current neptune owners through a flash upgrade. There have been some complaints (though I haven't had this problem) of being able to read the screen at an angle.. people with polarized lenses will definately have some more difficulty. Something to keep in mind though, it is an electronic device.. so be sure and keep batterys handy or a analog alti if you're going to use it as an alti. They estimate a casual jumper will be able to jump a year (not using any backlight) with one battery. Kevin

I just saw a preview for reno 911 for next week (wed) and they are doing a episode featuring "burning man" looks funny as shit :)

along the same line, curious if any TM jump the firebolt tandem?
-
That is my primary alti, and i only do wingsuit jumps.. I don't use it as an audible though i use it as my wrist mount, have a protrak for audible. Do you have any questions ?

must be the super 8 the one that provides the shuttle service for 50 bucks and the free rides to SDA? -
but you're still getting the soloman right?
-
Well now that the vigil is out, can we start debating about it? :)

Hey anyone else here flying in around 9:00 pm on the 25th and staying at the motel 6? Trying to see if we can get a group for the shuttle.. -
i've never seen a more pointless topical post in a topical forum.. this is destined for talkback, deletion, or a lock i'm sure.

Ok now i'm really confused. You've ordered a soloman, never flown a birdman but have access to a classic, gti, and skyflyer you could try at your dz?
