Drop Zone Ethics - 101 (In Kansas City)
beowulf replied to jumper410's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ya know I really don't understand why you care so much about their facilitys. I remember when I did my first jump as Chicagoland Skydiving Center. It wasn't CSC then, I think it was called Pheonix Skydiving, anyway I mostly remember the old mobile home they were manifesting in and the tent they were packing under. As a first time jumper I really couldn't care less what they had or didn't have. I just wanted to jump. -
I don't roll the tail very tight and not very much at all. I actually would like it to open a little faster. But don't want to mess with the slider.

I have over 500 jumps on my Sabre 2 150 and have only had maybe 2 hard openings that I can think of. I pack it like the manual says, that is I leave the nose hang and don't roll or do anything with it. I tried rolling the nose once and it took waaay too long to open. I have been very happy with my Sabre 2.

yeah you might not want to watch Thief. I happened to catch one episode and I was very impressed with the writing. The characters are well written and the actors are doing a great job. I really like the story line so far. The direction they are taking is pretty interesting. I think it is better then 24. At least the current season.
-
24 has lost my interest. They have stretched things way too far. They need better writers. This season started out good then went down hill pretty fast. I really liked last season much better then this season. I am switching to that new show Theif. It has surprised me. It is a really interesting show.

A lot of what you are complaining about is just advertising. Kind of like the picture of a Big Mac doesn't look like the Big Mac you get. Pretty much all new businesses have to bend the truth to make the themselves look better. If you think that is wrong then try going into business for yourself and be totally brutally honest and upfront and see how long you last. Quit complaining if it doesn't work they won't last. Why would you want to go out of your way to slam someone elses business? -
I think once someone has been convicted of a crime their rights are forfieted to a degree relational to their crime. If you steal you lose your freedom for a period of time and have to pay back what you stole. If you kill someone you lose all rights entirely and should be executed. There is no right to a humane death for a murderer.

Mithras and the Pagan Origins of Christianity

Yeah I would say that is pretty miserable place, but I don't think Moses ever went to the DMV to register his camel. -

Did you read the point by point comparison of Mithraism and Christianity? -

That's the interesting thing about Democracy and Free Elections. It isn't always fair. People mostly vote along the same directions as their emotions and not by what is right, wrong or prudent.

No he judged correctly

ok on a tangent, say this current Gov. was over thrown and another Gov. was setup in its place. Do you think it would be anymore trustworthy then the current Gov.? Is there any Gov. that is truly trustworthy?

I think the writers are slipping quite a bit in these last couple of episodes. My biggest grip about this last episode is about the nerve gas being put in the natural gas lines. If lighting it on fire destroys the nerve gas then how could it possibly affect anyone?? People don't breathe in the natural gas in their homes, they burn it. So the nerve gas would be burned up along with the natural gas. Maybe I am missing something, but that was diffucult to add to my suspension of disbelief. Oh well, its just TV anyway.

Politician = Liar Bottom line All Gov. Lie to their people. There some things the general public should not know about. Every president has lied at one time or another. That is to be expected. He has to make decisions based on classified and unclassified information. Therefore he may have to lie to the general public to get them to support his decision without actually telling the real reasons behind his decisions. Get over it.

what is the point of having a designated driver when you will get arrested for being drunk even though you don't plan on driving. They are trying to prevent a crime before it even happens. That is bullshit. There is no way they would know if any of those people would even be driving drunk. I think it is better to do the road blocks.

Yea they are funny. I was surprised that the Dallas PD announced they were going to put out bait cars downtown. I guess they were targeting the truly stupid and desperate dumbass criminals. Another tactic they use is to park empty police cars around downtown just to keep the criminals guessing. Apparently it is working.
-
I live in Dallas area and it was reported on the news that the cops were putting out bait cars before they were put out. Everyone had fair warning. All they had to do was watch the news or read a newspaper. Dumbasses They get what they deserve.

Surprisingly???? hell I am envious. 200 jumps is a lot for that short amount of time. At least for me it is. Sounds like a really cool guy.
