  1. What about that story? Should we believe everything in the Bible as literal truth? Are all ancient stories true accounts of what happened or just those that are in the Bible? Did the parting of the Red sea really happen? I don't think so. Could something have happened that they interpreted as God parting the Red sea? Possible I don't know. It's just a story. Why do you through out these stories as fact? Do you have any evidence other then the Bible to back these stories up?
  2. I really can't understand how you would take something like the story of Noah's flood as a literal account of what happened. There just isn't any evidence of a world wide flood.
  3. I never said the Bible didn't have any historical significance. I just question the existance of God or any gods. As a result of that I question the belief that the Bible was written by God. The people of the time attributed anything they didn't understand to God and wrote that in their book.
  4. This isn't much of an arguement for Christianity either. The same thing could be said for every other god out there and anything else man can imagine. This is like saying there are winged monkeys some where out there on a planet in a galaxy far far away. Is it possible? Well anything is possible. There is the same amount of evidence for both Allah, the Christian God and winged monkeys. Which should you go by? Well that depends on which one feels better to you or which one you grew up with. It's so arbitrary that I could dream up my own version of god and start my own religion. In fact if you talk to enough Christians you will find that each one has their own view of what God is. So in effect each Christian out there really has their own specific God.
  5. Ya know this logic of yours really gives me a head ache thinking about it. Just think all the gods out there that have yet to be imagined that could possibly exist!! All we have to do is not be able to prove they don't exist!!! Wow that's profound. do you see how hard it is for me to understand spirtualistic people? I am not trying to belittle you or make fun of you, just trying to convey my point of view the best that I can. Can you see my logic?
  6. umm yeah what Kallend said is pretty much what I was trying to say. I just have to add this. So then you must believe in all the other gods out there too. Since they can not be proved to not exist? What else can we dream up that we don't have to prove to exist but instead just not be able to prove to not exist? by your logic we should believe in every thing that we can prove to exist and everything that we can not prove to not exist! I am sorry but that doesn't work for me and just doesn't make sense.
  7. Well with that said then you could say the same thing about Odin or Vishnu or Allah or any other god out there. If you can't prove that something is there, then why would you bother trying to prove that it isn't there? I can't prove there isn't an invisible space ship hoovering over the office I work in, but then again I can't prove that it isn't there, sooo I guess there must me an invisible space ship there! Right? Does that make sense to you??
  8. Hey they killed a guy in self defense. Owned up to it and the law enforcement in that area let them go with out any problems. I would say that speaks volumes. They did the right thing.
  9. It's exciting. It helps drive away the depression that plagues me. Skydiving isn't for everyone. Some people jump and they are just plain scared shitless, other people jump and think that's cool but I could never do that again. Others like myself jump and it just takes their breath away and leaves a high like nothing else. After one jump I knew there was nothing else out there that could compete with skydiving.
  10. You can attribute anything you want to someone who isn't around to prove it.
  11. how about you try it and let us know what happens.

  13. I can picture it now. "Hey Grandpa how was your cruise?" "It was Great we really kicked some ass!"
  14. SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (AP) -- A tour group of U.S. senior citizens fought off a band of muggers in eastern Costa Rica, sending two of the assailants fleeing and killing a third, police said Thursday. One of the tourists -- a retired U.S. serviceman whom officials estimated was in his 70s -- allegedly put Warner Segura in a headlock and broke his clavicle after the 20-year-old and two other men armed with a knife and gun held up their tour bus Wednesday, said Luis Hernandez, the police chief of Limon, 80 miles east of San Jose. The Americans had arrived in Limon on the Carnival Cruise Lines ship Carnival Liberty. "It was a group of 12 senior citizens from the United States who were going to spend a few hours in the area, but their tour bus entered a dangerous sector known as Cieneguita", Hernandez said. The tourists drove Segura to the local Red Cross branch, but he was declared dead, Hernandez said. He declined to give the names or hometowns of the tourists. The Red Cross also treated one of the tourists for an anxiety attack, Hernandez said. Costa Rican authorities said they did not plan to file charges against the tourists, who left on their cruise ship after the incident. "They were in their right to defend themselves after being held up," Hernandez said. Hernandez said Segura had previous charges against him for assaults. http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/americas/02/22/seniors.mugged.ap/index.html

  16. He should have got you a bottle of 30yr old scotch for swimming in to get it. Or whatever you favorite beverage might be.
  17. I just ordered a new main canopy and it costs about $1600.
  18. I don't set criterias. I just know I don't want to be bullshitted by fast talking salesman pretending to sell stairways to heaven. Not saying thats you. Just that there are plenty of them out there. Just turn on the TV and they are always asking for money. Apparently their version of God is always broke.
  19. Most of the time they are easily found. Sometimes though they do get lost.
  20. What made you think that every minute of every day god would have to something to prove his existence? I know of magnetism through easily reproduced evidence. If there is a god there should be similar evidence.
  21. NO It would have to demonstrated for everyone not just me and repeatable.
  22. If you grew up in a Muslim community do you think you would have eventually converted to Christianity? Is you religon a product of your environment?
  23. If he were to appear in flesh he would have to do something god like and I would want to do everything I could to discredit him till I finally would have to admit that it really is god. Unfortunately all that is available is a book that self proclaims to be written by god.
