Watching Planet Earth last night was the first time I thought, "I would really like an HDTV." The shows (what I saw before I had to go to sleep) were just outstanding. I have HD and I gotta tell you I end up watching stuff that I would normally never sit and watch. example Sunrise Earth on Discovery HD theater is nothing but watching a sunrise somewhere on planet earth. No music. No people. No drama. Nothing but a sunrise. But the picture is so clear it feels like you are there. HD is definitely worth it.

Could you please be more vague.
-
How would you know if you have the Holy Spirit?
-
it wouldn't solve any thing.
-
Yeah I heard about that. Seems like a good deal to me. Asshole saved the state money by shooting himself. Now we just need to get all the pedophiles out there to follow his example.
-
Hm. I'd forgotten how impoverished John McCain and Prince Harry's mom What's-Her-Name are. Apparently you have selective vision. Did you not read the part where is says MOST wealthy peoples children.
-
That argument, which misses the point, has already been rebutted (well, thrashed ) about 4 times now in this thread. No it doesn't miss the point. Your point is retarded and has no merit.

What utter bs. Andy9o8 isn't the one saying that this is a "noble war." He's not the one sending off thousands to Iraq. Perhaps Andy9o8 doesn't even believe the war is right (perhaps he does, just being hypothetical). So why should he volunteer if he doesn't believe in it? Those who are talking the talk should walk the walk. If the president believes so strongly in this war, he should set an example by sending his own kids as he is sending the kids of so many other families in the country. That's the point of the article; I don't see any whining in it at all. Why should GWB's children volunteer if they don't want to?? Maybe they disagree with their father? Either way it is his childrens decision to join or not, not GWB's.
-
Again, nice diversion. Nobody's talking about forcing one's children to volunteer to fight in a war you have other people's children fighting in. We're talking about raising them to volunteer of their own volition, hoping they'll think: "Gee, if Daddy's going to send thousands of my age cohorts off to war, maybe I should volunteer, too, like they have, or like my grandfather did, despite his wealth and having a father who was a Senator." Like Prince Harry. Or like John McCain's son. Oh really! And just how do you raise your children to volunteer to join the military?? This is still the dumbest arguement. Just because they are the Presidents kids doesn't mean they should join the military. One has nothing to do with the other.
-
It's not a diversion. If you are going to bitch and whine about someone else not volunteering then you should have at least volunteered yourself. GWB can not force his children to volunteer any more then he can force you to volunteer.
-
Are you saying that the Presidents kids should be required to join the military? Would that make the Iraq war better? The whole article is nothing but whining bullshit.
-
This is just plain stupid. They aren't there because they didn't volunteer. We have a VOLUNTEER military.
-
I don't know where you read that, but who ever wrote that doesn't know what they are talking about. Go to a dropzone and ask to talk to an instructor. They will give you a much more reliable information.

If there is no answer to our existence, then, do you have the same derision for science? No science doesn't pretend to have the answers to everything like religion does. Science has theories that they continue to find evidence to either support or disprove the theory. Religion simply assigns everything they don't understand to god rather then trying to learn and understand.
-
That is a pretty limited view and leads to nothing but death and war.
-
This implies that you condone their tactics. Just because they think it is the only doesn't mean that it is their only option.
-
How is that understandable? That doesn't hurt the US. Most of the fighting in Iraq seems to be between the different factions trying to gain control over the country. If the only option they can see is fighting then that is all they will ever do. There are more options. They just don't see them or want them.
-
That's a pretty narrow view if all you can come up with is two choices. There are certainly more options out there and plenty of them are non violent. If the Palestinians were to stop their violent ways and concentrate on building up their economy they would be in a much better position to negotiate with the Israelis. Bottom line neither the Israelis or the Palestinians want peace. They both get what they want and deserve. From what I can tell Osama Bin Laden wants to make the world fit his Islamic view.

Right and we can see where Darius's sympathies are.
-
But if you got to know them and understand their hardships then you would realize that they are right and everyone else is wrong. At least that is what Darius implies. Apparently if you kill people for an ideal then you are some how better then a common murderer.
-
They may be smart, but if they weren't brain washed by their ideology they would see that there are better ways then terrorism or suicide bombings to achieve their goal. Terrorism and suicide bombings are counter productive.

What makes someone pick the place to make thier first jump?
beowulf replied to Fast's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Before I did my first jump I had never heard of dropzones and had no idea that people just jumped out of airplanes for fun. I happened through Hinckley, IL on the way home from Aurora, IL and saw the sign for the dropzone there with their number on it. Wrote it down and called them as soon as I got home. I never shopped around or even thought to look for other dropzones. If I chose a different route home it might have been a long time before I ever skydived. On another note I didn't care how much it cost to do a tandem. When they said $150 I thought that was pretty cheap. I thought skydiving would cost a lot more. I was willing to spend a lot more. All I knew was that I wanted to try it at least once. Little did I know how much it would really cost me but it's all worth it and I would do it all over again.
