  1. Could you put that in context. I don't know which post you are responding to. I am trying to work and post on Dz.com Right now I am having to rewrite a program that I wrote a year ago to fit a new application. So I have to go over the entire program so that I know what the flow of it is.
  2. Until proof is presented, it is just a myth. There is not one shred of objective proof of your beliefs. That's why they are beliefs. That's why it's called faith. If it were provable, faith would not be needed. Yes, but at times God does give proof. Of course, those apart from it can explain it away by saying you made that up to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Example: Proof was given to Thomas and 500 hundred other witnesses, but it fails your standard for proof. God could appear directly to you, and unless CNN was there peple would not believe. Thus the effort spent trying to "prove" God is wasted. I believe there is enough proof already. Your only evidence that that occurred is one book. You can't even conclusively prove that that even happened.
  3. You should really take a class in critical thinking. But on the other hand Religions tend to discourage questioning.
  4. Why do you impose scientific reason for the proof of God? Why not use the same judment of music, art? literature? Why science? That really makes no sense at all!
  5. Than that would make you God has you are the one calling the shots. Imagine everyone creating their own personal scenario for the proof of God. I'm sorry your family doesn't respect your decision to reject the idea of God. I'm sure they believe they are doing it out of love. I bet the JWs in your family just love you skydiving to boot! I think if one honestly seeks God they will find Him, but I'm also convinced you can write off just about every spiritual experience you may have as coincidence. While it may not seem fair to some, to experience God "almost" always requires active seeking, and "finding" God seldom comes from God proving to someone seeking to disprove Him. I never sought to disprove God or gods. I just never saw any evidence that lead me to believe there is any such thing. How can I believe some thing that doesn't make sense to me? I grew around Jehovah's Witnesses and know their doctrine inside and out. Having grown up with it I believed it till I finally stopped and thought about what they were teaching and it just didn't make any sense. The more questions you ask the less it makes any sense. This is true of all religions. I have asked about lots of other religions and they don't have any answers either. The proof that you provide isn't proof of anything.
  6. That's way too logical for them.
  7. It must happen to me or I be present and be able to test the results and have it repeated to be able to confirm that God did actually do it.
  8. All of my immediate family live in Illinois. I haven't talked to them in months and don't hear from them very often. They are not all atheist. My mother is a Jehovahs Witness and my father is Catholic. Do you want to interview them and ask them the same question? I avoid talking to them about religion because it just doesn't go anywhere and does nothing constructive.
  9. So for you to believe God must take you personally for a skydive w/o a parachute and survive. Would God have to do that every day or is once enough? Would your experience be enough for your family or would they all need to take a ride? I can only speak for myself. Once would be enough.
  10. OK I will make it more blunt so you can understand with out any problem at all and there will be no question. If God appeared before me and raised me off the earth and took me up to 12,000 ft and dropped me and I landed on my head(since I would falling head down of course) and I lived then I would believe in your God. I am ready for my ride. Actually at the least consistency would make me actually concede that there may be a God out there. But since you couldn't read that in my last post....
  11. Of course! To do any less would make me a fool. Why would I believe in something with out any proof at all? Then what SPECIFICALLY would God have to do to prove to you he is God? All the things you attribute to God can not be proven to done by God. It seems as though anything that you cannot explain must be God's doing. If God was really looking after your child then why doesn't he look after all the children?? Why can't he be consistent? If there was a consistency to these thing then I may concede, but there isn't. These miracles that you propose as being done by God are random and can not be proven to be done by God. If God were real then he would be logical right?? Then why doesn't he ever and I mean EVER follow any logical pattern at all? As far as I can tell you take the idea of God and then try to fit all the evidence to that idea. That is very poor reasoning.
  12. No the answer you gave was very vague and ambiguous and answered nothing.
  13. Of course! To do any less would make me a fool. Why would I believe in something with out any proof at all?
  14. Christians want everyone to believe the way they do but they don't offer any proof other then one book. That just isn't enough for me and their logic is not logical at all and doesn't fit any of the observable evidence. When questioned they give very poorly reasoned out arguements.
  15. Is there any proof of these things happening? other then one book? Those other gods have their own requirements, how is yours better then theirs? How do you know their god isn't the correct one? If you grew up as a Muslim do you think you would have eventually ended up Christian? Are all the Muslims and Hindus going to end up in Hell because they don't believe in Jesus or your God? If so how is that Love??
  16. How long ago was Noah around? Pajarito's version of evolution works really fast?
  17. No. Ok then what are you saying? How did all these extra animals show up if the weren't in Noah's ark?
  18. Please Please try to avoid using logic in a sentence. You just don't make sense. Where did you come up with that? I think you made it up so you don't have to prove there is a god.
  19. How is your God any better then Allah or any of the other gods out there? There is the same amount of evidence.
  20. You'd be correct if you had to take two of each species existing today onto the ark. So are you saying that God created more animals after the flood?
  21. Yeah I am just curious to see what her response is. She definitely has a different view then Steve does and it would be interesting to see what she has to say.
  22. Neither. It was a lie. very funny
  23. exactly how was God there for you?
  24. You seem to think that the bible was written as things happened. It's unlikely that these stories you refer to were written about as they happened. Most likely they were passed on from generation to generation as stories. Then someone wrote them down. Did the get changed as they were told? Probably. Then the Jewish Rabbis or whomever put the Bible together chose those stories and added them to the bible.
  25. I wouldn't say they lied. They wrote down what it looked like from their perspective. How would you call that a lie?? Was Homer's Illiad fact or fiction? Or was it a mix of both?
