Combining BASE and Swooping together!! IDEAS??
skygod7777 replied to clint's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
dude, that would fuckin rock. if my dad would let me do a base jump, i would so be there (and more than likely he will this summer -
i made myself one of these, and your right the bag and pilot chute are behind you all the way down the lines, before it even starts coming down. now here's my next questions, why? just because? i didn't really find it to be a lot different, it felt like it dove a bit more, but that could of just been me. the reason i did it was i saw pd and everyone else did it, so i wanted to see what the big deal was later

yup but they way i look at it, i'm not legally old enough to go in the store and buy it, so i don't have to, right. later

not sure, more than likely i won't have too cook again for a while. but if i do, i may just go for the tuna helper again, because it's simple, even though i had trouble following the directions. the noddles were about half way done, and i checked on them, and was like, man i thought these were supposed to be cheesey or something, and then realized i forgot to put in the season stuff. later

what's up well i'll just have to pat myself on the back for this one. i made me and my dad dinner tonight. i said i could do it, and it wouldn't be nasty too. and i'll just have to say my tuna helper was damn good

i've got 2 tats and 1 ear pierced. both tats are on my right leg, the freeflier is on my calf, the swooper is on my upper leg, like my thigh. i need to get both of them recolored. the freeflier is like 3 years old, and the swooper is like 2. the freeflier got too much sun with out sunscreen on it, and the swooper, well you can see it's kinda patchey, i was bleeding like a mother fucker, so that's the best he could do without fuckin up. oh well, i'll get it done on of these days. later

but you also said you didn't get like 5 of em . it's just a matter of taking it slow, some people catch on quick, some don't. and it's all about if you are ready to crash, if you start slow, then you can stand them all up, and work on to being able to do more than 90's and still look good. if you go big at first, then you are putting yourself in a lot more shit. later

what scott miller was talking about isn't the same as what he wants to do. what that does is gets you out of the pendulume effect by putting yourself sideways, and then comming back under the canopy. what he is wanting to do is carve accross the ground, and it sound like that is what your wanting to do also. i'm not really to sure how to explain it, other than what has been posted already, but i can offer some advice. to take it slow, don't try to carve 90 degess on your first attempt, take it easy, 45 may even be a bit too much for you first few tries. later

skygod7777 replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
it's a velo. and i think it was caused by a ragged out pilot chute or something, wasn't ray?? either that or ray just doesn't know how to pull stable it's not the canopy, even though i love my vx, the velo's are still kick ass canopies. later -
i've got a few jumps under the xfire 2 and the vengence (about 75 or so on each). and they are both nice canopies. the turn rate, i'm not sure, i don't pay attention to that. the dives are pretty similar, but i still would say with a nice 270, i was starting the xfire higher than i was with the vengence, it at least felt like it. i got better swoops with the xfire, it just seams to have more rear riser power. they both good, but the xfire has a longer snivil, but it's not really any softer just longer. the sam, i took one home to jump, and never had the chance to jump it. so i can't comment on that, but from what i've seen they are nice canopies. all in all, you would be happy with either one. but, i've seen some pretty sick swoops under a sabre 2. i mean, they will go if you push them. so just keep that in mind when your about to drop 1500 bucks on a new canopy, that you'll more than likely only get like another 50 or so feet once you max them out, because at 1.4 on the xfire 2 of the vengence isn't anywhere near the peak performance, so you won't really have much of an advantage. but that's just my opinion. later

i know that's awesome huh. later
-
yea, i think i've only packed the new one once, when kyle jumped it. but hey, no problem. and hopefully quite a few more times in 04
-
i would agree, but one big differnce is that you have to have full molors on the wings, where as on a jav, you kinda need softer molors, not as full to make them look good. later

what a dumbass. later
