  1. that's nuts. i was at the hanger when it happened. tim was in bad shape. my buddy shortbus tried to tell him he was crazy, and tim wouldn't believe us. bus was like "dude you have balls of steal" tim "what's the big deal" bus looking at me "you see the crazy ones are the ones who don't know that their doing is crazy" tim is one lucky dude, and i'm glad to hear he's back up and jumping. later
  2. i'm "that guy who" had his picture printed in parachutist that was under age at the time later
  3. i'm about 215 out the door, and have well over 500 jumps on this one set of risers. but this doesn't make it ok, the manu. still says 200 is the limit, so if i have one break, it's no one's fault but my own because the manu. says i'm over the limit. lata
  4. dude, those open the best man. the neater you pack, the harder it opens. think about it, they pack reserves all neat and shit and they open fast well it works the same on mains. just shove the fucker in there and you'll be good. later
  5. hell no. it's bad luck to unpack a good packjob. later
  6. do you need an audible, no, is it a good idea yes. but again, make sure you look down, and audible or an alti could be dead, stuck whatever. make sure to rely on your eyes first, alti's second later
  7. i would agree, but a much better way to make sure your not low, is to look down. never rely on a mechancal or electric device to tell you where you at, look at the ground, that is more important than haveing 10 alti's.
  8. nice pics bro, looked like it was a good time (at least the swooping). later
  9. get ahold of icarus. the say they will make what ever size you want. they make the safire 2 (similar to a sabre 2) and the omni (7 cell). have have jumped the safire 2 and it is a very forgiving canopy if it needs to be, and it will swoop well, i had a nice 180 or 200' swoop on a 139 safire 2 just last night when i had to borrow my dad's girlfriends rig. later
  10. they are a tennis ball filled with # 8 (i think)lead shot. i know vern may have lost one or 2 of them , just maybe. and on one jump he almost lost it trying to fuck around and as he went to catch it, it fumbled off his hand. then i tried to catch it, and missed, and as i gave up and started tracking, vern comes flying by and catches it on his way by . later
  11. i'm not sure what size people "generally" use, but i know i jump a 85 vx with a tempo 150 reserve. a friend mine used to jump his 79 vx with a raven 150, he now has a pd 126r. and then my buddy who has a 109 vx loaded up at like 2.6 (he's a big boy) has a tempo 250 reserve. my buddy vern has a velo 111 loaded at about 2.5 (also a big boy) has a pd 176r. later
  12. i know, people always think my hook turns are dangerous, they should just see me drive a car j/k yea, my back and neck muscles are a bit sore, but nothing more. and it more than likely didn't help my neck muscles doing 1 tandem video yesterday and 4 today . but it doesn't really hurt that bad at all. later
  13. what's up well here are the pics of my rolled are . later
  14. i take my cypres out when i swoop a pond. i have been wet in a pond before with my cypres in (rantoul the first year, about 7 am) and i pulled my cypres out as soon as i was out of the water, and it was wet inside, not really too wet, but there was water in there. i gave it to ssk since they were there, they sent it to germany, and nothing was wrong with it. but i still take it out just because i paid good money for it, and would like for it to work. later
  15. hell yea i did. i have another thread about it somewhere, i'm going to post some pics of my car tonight. lata
  16. no i call everyone dude. dude later
  17. if this is the case, i'm sure brian will say something on here. he posts on here. the guy who i said above (220 out the door) had to have his lines replaced at about 400 or 500 jumps with the 550, and i've seen the 825 go 800 or 900 + later
  18. your thinking is correct. i'm not sure yes, my buddy jumps a stilleto with 550, and he's about 225 or 230 out the door. the only thing with the 550 is it goes out of trim faster than the 825. that is the downside to it. later
  19. yea dude, i know exactly how you feel. hell i started my day off by rolling my car and tataling it. and then i just had to sit back and laugh because there's nothing else i can do about it. sometimes shit happens like rolling your car later
  20. so you makin fun of the way i drive no, that is a good idea, but i'd rather spend the money jumping and swooping later
  21. hey i'm upsizing, i got a 96 velo on the way. should be here wed. later
  22. i know. i think i'm going to just stick to flying my canopy for a while. it's way easier later
  23. yea it was just a reaction thing, next time, if there is one, now i know just to hit it. later
  24. what's up well, my dumbass got into another wreck . i didn't hit anyone, or anything (well the ground). i was driving down a gravel road leaving my dzo's house about 5:30 this morning (heading home) and a fuckin deer came out of nowhere, so i slammed on the brakes, started slidding sideways, and went into a field and flipped my car . went back to the house, got vern flipped the fucker back upright, and tried to start it, and it was dead , big surprize huh. no one was hurt, i had my seatbelt on, but no more car for kelly. i'll post pics of it tomorrow. later
