JC sets new swoop world record
skygod7777 replied to ParaShoot's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
he did it with a velo 84 at like 3.5 or something. how do you know if you haven't tried it?? i'm just saying, don't talk yourself up until you've actually done it, i have no idea how hard or easy something like that is, because i've never tried, so i don't go around saying it would be no problem to do. one thing i do know, is that a 4.0 wing loading is really fuckin fast, and has no good for a decent swoop, and you have to run a lot. the first half sounds great (really fast) but not the whole having to run out a landing, just not for me. later -
dude my boogie fuckin rocked. i had such a good time. i only made like 7 or 8 jumps, but all of them were good. had some crazy nights, lets see, friday night i didn't sleep. so i went the rest of the day saturday with no sleep, and then saturday night i was up until like 5:30 or so, and woke up at 10:30 sunday. and sunday night i went to bed about 3:30 or 4 and was up at 8. it was nice, great parties. i can't wait to see everyone again next year, it will be even better i can see it coming. later

what's up so tony is at richmond early for the boogie this year, well today it was super hot and i ripped my jeans that i was jumping in (there was a small hole in the ass, and it got a lot bigger on opening) so i had to find something to wear, so i found my old freefly tony suit pants. but like i said it was way hot, so i figured ah these pants are pretty old, i'll just cut them off and make some ghetto swoop shorts, so i did. with full intention of eventually making the bottoms look nice (they where hacked all up, i was trying to make a load and still had to pack me and someone else, so i was in a hurry). well tony see's them and asks me what the hell i did to them, so i told him, and he was like well do you want me to go sew those up and make them look nice for you? so i was like hell yea, get the owner of tony suits to work on my broke down freefly pants (well shorts now). i just thought it was super cool of him, i mean just to have the manufacturer be at the dz and just for the hell of it sew up some pants that you just totally fucked up . anyway, all that was to let everyone know that i think tony suits rocks!! but they still aren't as cool as me later

i can't believe all the books i got for 1 class
skygod7777 replied to skygod7777's topic in The Bonfire
what's up so i'm taking this A&P course and today we got our books (along with a nice bag to carry them in). but i got a 2005 F.A.R book that is like 4" thick that includes the FAR's for 1, 13, 21, 23, 27, 33, 34, 35, 43, 45, 47, 65, 91, 119, 121 subparts J and L, 125, 135, 145 (old and new), 147, 183, and applicable SFARs. advisory circulars 20-62, 20-109, 21-12, 39-7, 34-9, 43.9-1, and 65-11. and also IA knowledge test guide. i also got an Advisory Circular book that includes AC 43.13-1B with change 1, and AC 43.13-2A combined. it also has acceptable methods, techniques, and practices for Aircraft inspection and repair. this book is like 3" thick. then i got an A&P general textbook, and A&P general workbook, and and A&P general test guide with oral and practical study guide (all about 1 to 1.5" thick). and i did get a nice Jeppesen carrying bag, but still, that's a lot of books. and i will be in school for 11 months out of the year, compared to everyone else getting out before memorial day weekend. and i still don't have my algrebra II or english 3 books either!!! oh well, i come out of the class after 2 years with my A&P, if i pass. so i guess it will be worth it, and considering what i have to pay (about 500 or 550 for both years) compared to what a couple of the adults in the class have to pay (8000 bones, and that my just be for this year, i'm not sure) it's worth taking it. ok, i'm done ranting. lata -
i got my photo finish pic.

Aerodyne looking for Opinions: What are the best dive loops.
skygod7777 replied to aubsmell's topic in Gear and Rigging
i really like the wings dive loops. they best i have ever jumped, they are always open, and easy to grab, i never have to fumble arond looking for them, or have to look up to find them (good because i can always keep my eye on traffic). but that's just my opinion. lata -
i would have to say at the freestyle swoop comp, the dude trying the wingover (no names, but he post on here ), it wasn't stupid or dumb, but it sure as hell was funny. just coming out of his turn, planing out and just yanking a toggle trying to get the canopy to touch the water, it was great or luigi landing the 39, dude has mad skill, i'll give him that, but room for error just isn't enough for me. i got to give the guy mad props for it, but i still don't think it's very smart later
-
oh shit, that was you. dude, that kept me laughing all night long, no offense. next time, i wouldn't do it quite like you did later
-
i don't either, but they line set will last longer, so i would imagine that is why. steve blinko (sp??), the dude who freefly coaches in lake wales has spectra on his vx, or he did this past winter anyway. it didn't make much sense to me, but he seamed to really like it. later

what's wrong with IL?? later -
when you flare to the side with toggles it will deflect them a bit, therefore not using as much input and giving the rear riser effect just a bit. later

the world record is 418 feet (127.4064 meter). 106 meters is 347.8 feet a damn good swoop, no one can take that from the dude, but not the record. later

tell me that isn't the only thing they took right? and i can't agree with you more, theives suck ass. lata

to a point, scott i thought heard jeff yell and ran through the corn field. maybe he heard jason, i don't know. i think it was a good thing to do, he landed in a field that he knew was flat and safe to land in, but in the same aspect it may of not been the smartest thing to do with a tandem. who knows, who cares. everyone came out ok, for the most part. it's done, it's over with, nothing can be done about it know. if i was in his postion, i more than likely would have done the same exact thing. later

Ever have one of those swoops?
skygod7777 replied to AggieDave's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
but you missed the gates, so that's a vertical extention, so that's a 0 ft swoop j/k bro. later -
i've been in trouble for swooping spectator, swooping into our hanger, swooping downwind, swooping the lane between the hanger/fence/electric box. you name it, me and vern (freeflyswc) have been yelled at for it. later

skygod7777 replied to BluDvn222's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
TJ rocks, kick ass swooper and freeflier and isn't stuck up his own ass about it either. later -
will it (the warrior) be available to the U.S. market? or mainly in russia/europe? or do you know? i imagine it, or the proto type will be at PIA if the company goes. later

what do you mean? same amount of skill?? i'm not sure, i've never seen the atair sponsered guys swoop, but i'm assuming if they're sponsered for swooping they must be pretty good. later

does paraavis have a web site to get more info on this canopy? edit: ok, i found a web site, but the one that has canopies and stuff on it is in russian, while the english site doesn't have much of anything on it about parachutes, just thier base rig. thanks
