skygod7777 replied to chutingstar's topic in Events & Places to Jump
is there going to be a set time?? like sunset is at what time there in atlanta, so the rest of us, that aren't on the same time can be up in the air too? ya know what i mean, like have exit time set so everyone can be in the air at the same time. or is this just sunset anywhere do the skydive? thanks -

When did you move to throwout deployment?
skygod7777 replied to DrStrangelove's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
on my first jump off static line is when i went to BOC. that's how we used to do all of our student's at my dad's old place (we didn't offer AFF). at richmond, they just converted to all aff's being BOC, they used to be ripcord, and no one would transition until they had their A really. later -
right, but i was in contact with ken a long time ago, and he told me there would be no problem getting me a rage. and i'm not saying it's ken's fault, the demo i was supposed to get was sold, it never came back to him, but he still doesn't have any more demo's. i would think the company would replace it fairly quickly if it was sold. stefan from paratec contacted me back in march after seeing my post saying i was interested in jumping one, and got me in contact with ken. and i still havne't recieve the canopy (which by the way isn't so bad because for the next 4 weeks i can't jump anyway , i broke my pull hand). ken said i should be able to get one in august, i hope he's right. because i am still interested in trying one. later

i've been trying to get one for months now. i'm not really counting on ever getting one, it seams like just delay after delay with ken. needless to say i'm not very impressed with paratec later

i can deal with that. skydumbass, it has a nice ring to it later

yup, i was doing something stupid, swooping a damn, and on landing i fell, brused my tail bone, and broke my hand . what happened was when i checked out the damn earlier in the day the wind was parallel to it, but when i got out later in the day the wind shifted to it coming up the damn, so when i started to come down, i was running out of steam to make it to the flat part at the bottom, and i made the bottom by about 10 feet in, but like i said landed really hard and my ass, and put my hand out to the side. but the video looks cool still . i'll edit it up, and see if i can find someone who knows how to put it on the internet. but can someone come to richmond and shoot my tandem video's tomorrow . ok, now everyone can call me a dumbass later

-
you might try calling down to zhills, i'd bet they may know how to get ahold of him. later

i hear that dude, i am too, and i'm about to be on my third because my screen on mine just quit on me, it won't turn on or display anything. i still need to send the fucker back, but i'm lazy. later
-
who cares?? really, it's done, over with, and i'm sure the dude was told not to do it again. just leave it alone, we all know it was stupid, cool, but stupid. lata

skygod7777 replied to BlueSBDeath's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
that's cool as hell. i love it, us kids are going to be taking over the dz all around here soon . i'm going to have to make it down to raeford to make a jump with someone my age, that would be cool. later -
Luigi Cani reportedly landed an Icarus VX 39
skygod7777 replied to mjasantos's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
right, the safire's and omega's where measured that way, or differently than pd's system. later -
i would say yes and no. in the fact they should try to make sure the jumper is able to fly the canopy they want to buy. but also, they person they are selling it to could just lie to them. like my buddy eddie did when he bought his vengence 97 when he had 95 jumps (loading it at like 1.7). he also didn't tell us that he had the canopy (he hooked it up at home, and brought his rig packed to the dz). later

my impressions of the 95 that i had and the 85 that i had aren't quite what i expected them to be. both have great glide. openings are better than that 105 that you have, but kind of take off a bit when the slider starts to come down. light front riser pressure. rear riser pressure was light also, but didn't seam to have a lot of power. dive, sucked ass to be blunt. if you do a really long carve then it will dive a bit, but the recovery arc sucks, and like you said, any input and it's flat. i think the canopy could have good potential, maybe if they put a longer line set on it, or steepen the angle of attack (or both). so it can dive more, and build up more speed. and the 36 cell thing is a gimic, they way they are calling it a 36 cell, makes a vx a 45 cell. because it only has 1 rib, so making 2 chambers for the cells, but then the chambers are split by the crossbraces, making 4 sections. so, call it what ever they want, but until they improve the performance, i'm sticking with my vx or a velo. edit: btw, i don't believe for a second that the 105 that i had was a 105, i think it was a 95 like it was originaly marked. and the 2 that i have now still, one says 85 but they say it was miss marked and it's a 95, and the other one i have says 75 but it's got a mark thru it, and 85 wrote next to it. and when i laid the "95" on top of my buddy's 79 vx and it was just a hair bigger, i'm going to go ahead and say it was a 85. so i'm not too impressed with atair in that aspect, considering they are sending out demo's that they don't know what size they are even, or they just tell you it's the size you want it to be. later

you guys can't give suave (eric's nickname) that much credit. next time you call him you have to give him some shit. he deserves it. tell him kelly from richmond told you to btw, eric's known me my whole life, that fucker used to put me in the trash can at the dz when i was like 4. later

i'm closer to my dad than my mom. but i'm pretty sure that is because i jump with him. later
-
i can honestly say no, i grew up on a dz, so i was always around skydiving. and it always made sense to me to jump
-
good to hear little P made it down there. i can't blame her for leaving the mid west. i mean come on, it sucks ass up here. but she has to come back and visit. later

cool. the 85 or 75 what ever it is (the pink one). looks pretty damn small, i have an 85 vx, and it is smaller than that i'm sure. the 95 or 85 what ever the fuck it is (the yellow one) looks more like my 85 vx. i'm not sure. i don't care. i'm going to jump them tomorrow and see how they fly. thanks for the heads up, because i was waiting on an e-mail from jean to find out what they really where, and i wouldn't find that out until monday. thanks again. later
-
yea, i was supposed to get a 85 and a 95. well i got 2 canopies, and they are 2 different sizes. but one says 85 (the bigger one) and the other has a 75 crossed out and then 85 wrote next to it. so i'm not too sure what the hell i have. but i'm jumping them tomorrow (tonight if i get some weather). later

vern's a big boy dude. it's about 250 or 260 standing without gear. the day he jumped the canopy it was about 8 to 10 mph winds, so he didn't have to run anything out. later
