  11. For those of you who know Bob Chaffin, he has had a stroke and is in the hospital. They believe he will be ok. He is having some speech problems, but they believe they can correct that. His mental state is fine and should recover well. If I understand it correctly this isnt his first stroke, Bob is 70 years old now. Bob is one of those Pioneers of the sport, my brother and I always called him grandpa Bob. He was always more like a second father but since we didnt really have any grandparents thats what we called him, hey we were kids. I hope someone can chime in and help me with some of the things he did. I remember spending alot of time in his loft ( The Up N Down Shop) we would make Koozie can wraps, wallets, toy parachutes, and containers for our G I Joes. Him and Dennis Dorris would watch us sometimes when our parents would need to go somewhere. They did a great job, we would sneak beers out of the fridge, but after a while we no longer had to sneak them. Bob owned APS for a while which manufactured the Rascal and Laser, he was also involved with the military in producing their vests back in the 80's I believe. He seemed to be ahead of his time on certain projects but never really had the resources to follow them through. I believe he was one of the first to combine ZP and F111 for canopies. I saw patterns for canopies with a partially closed nose long before they were common. If you would like to send him wishes or whatever please PM me and I will give you contact for Dennis Dorris who can relay the message. Dennis told me that he can almost understand Bob when he tries to talk, he said it wasnt much different after a bottle of Chivas sometimes. Bob loved accuracy and he would have my mother lay down in the peas with her head next to the 10cm yellow disc. Mom always said "Bob if you hit me you will never win a meet again that I judge!"
  12. 6-19-1993, shoved the fib/tib out the side and bottom of my right foot. Completely destroyed the ankle. Plate and 5 screws, I kept hitting the screws on objects. So after 3 years they removed them. For me it was a simple operation and I walked out that day. No problems having the metal removed. My ankle on the other hand is a different story, it was never right, fusion or replacement are my options now. I would say remove the metal. As far as rebreaking, my brother double compounded the right fib/tib, 15 years later he did it again, this time they broke 4" above the first ones. good luck

  17. Chris I have not forgotten about what we discussed. I am awaiting an answer from Bill. N. Had a few questions for him. Just got the PC set up again at home, So I will dig up those numbers as well. I will make the announcement when I get the facts. Do you want it here or elsewhere? Try a new thread maybe? I could make it a sign up thread, maybe that would work?? thanks J

  20. ok I'm gonna get it for this, but here goes, especially since she wont be able to read it till she gets home tonight. So we have this great kitten, all the right stuff and already house trained. So we decided to let her have the house the second day we went to work after we got her.all is good, she didnt do anything to the house. So the next day, we do it again... Well I get home shortly after Jaime (front door still open) she is looking for the cat. Of course we both look under the couch.. we hear her but cant find her. Finally I get a bearing on her, I go down the hall and I'll be damned if its coming from the closed door to the back ofice!!@!! Our unnamed cat was locked in the office ALL DAY with no food, water or a place to go.... The office is full of boxes and crap from our recent move, she could have destroyed everything. She didnt do one thing wrong. We fed her and all is good, although the cat did follow me around the rest of the night go figure Ok give jumprgirl a hard time for me, she is abusing my boy!! poor kitty, watch out for mean mommies....daddy's are cool!
