There have been quite a few cases of previously infected people getting it a second (or third) time. Depending on the severity of the first case, if the person has significant damage, they often die from the second case. I hope long term protection is real, and there's lots of reasons to believe that it is, but it's not certain. Note: From what I understand, people who have had Covid and are fully vaxed are the most protected (doesn't matter if the infection or vax came first).

No, silly. Not useless. He claimed the vaccines are dangerous. That he knows as many people who have been harmed by them as have died from Covid. Goes against everything I've seen everywhere else, but hey, he knows everything.
-
And his idiot followers booed him when he told them to get vaxed. That's why they're dying by the thousands.

Ah yes. The "War on Christianity". I know lots of Christians. Far, far, faaaaar more than any other religion. Same as I know far more white people than any other. Those who honestly practice the teachings of Jesus, who don't use their faith as a weapon, who genuinely believe get my respect. Those who are hypocrites, who try to convert others, threaten 'hell & damnation' for those who are different, who try to get their faith installed as laws... Not so much.

It's not that they couldn't recognize it. It's that they LIKED it. They like the way he 'stood up for himself' They liked the way he treated women and minorities. And the disabled. He did and said all the things they wanted to do. And got away with them.

I have nothing to contribute to this discussion from a technical standpoint. But I want to comment that it's absolutely amazing to see folks with decades of experience in this sort of thing freely contributing and sharing to help the 'new guy' get it right. This is basically 'doctorate level' harness design and construction stuff. Both theory and practical. Way, way, waaaaaaay beyond my skill/experience. But the fact that Jerry, Lee & Rob are willing to help at the level they are is REALLY cool.

If you are 'of that mindset', then: 1 - You're a fucking idiot. Period. 2 - You deserve what you get.

Yes. People are THAT fucking stupid. https://www.google.com/search?q=inhaling+hydrogen+peroxide+dangers&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS910US910&oq=Inhaling+Hy&aqs=chrome.7.69i57j0i512l9.6033j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Edit to add: Don't forget that concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide was used as rocket fuel back in the early days.

Not exactly. The rapid tests are only really useful in seeing if one is contagious. One can be infected, but not yet contagious and the test may still be negative (this is my understanding, and I welcome correction on it). That, in and of itself, can be useful. As long as it's taken for what it's worth. For example, lots of places other than the US have rapid tests readily available for free for home use. On the way to see grandma? Take a test. If you are negative, you are fine to go see her today. If you are positive, don't go anywhere. If you plan on going to see grandma again next Sunday, take another test that day. I've heard/read of people who have immune compromises family having tests at their front door. Anyone coming in gets a test. Their primary use is seeing if anyone is dangerous right now. And for that, they are supposed to be reasonably effective.

That's truly awesome. The service areas along the Ohio & Indiana toll roads are installing chargers (not sure what capacity). Stop in, use the facilities, run the dog around, get a bite to eat, chill for a bit. Maybe not enough for a full charge, but it can easily take a couple hours.

It also links to a story that claims over 20k deaths from the vaccine. As I've noted before, use of the J&J vax was suspended after ONE death and a few more incidents of clots. It was ALL OVER the news. Yet these numbskulls seem to think that there has been tens of thousands of deaths that have 'just gone unnoticed'. And a quick search about the 'spike protein' found this: https://health-desk.org/articles/what-do-we-know-about-the-toxicity-of-spike-proteins-made-from-covid-19-vaccines It's from June, but the simple reality that the 'spike proteins' don't have actual spikes on them, don't travel anywhere in the body and don't do damage is still valid.

Freefly Band/Bungee Question
wolfriverjoe replied to mds5118's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
#1 - The little loops are sewn to the legstrap PADS. Not the legstraps themselves. #2 - Each little loop is a short section of binding tape that gets bartacked to the edge of the pad. Mark's 10 minutes of work is pretty accurate (he knows his stuff). -
Almost as if the elites are deliberately trying to kill off the uneducated and poor, while protecting themselves.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
wolfriverjoe replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Jerry, That's absolutely hilarious. I can't think of any substantial issue that Trump didn't lie about. Not that every statement was a lie (although it's pretty close), it's that there weren't any issues that he didn't lie about something. And, from the article: No shit. Trump lied. And anyone who looked at it from a 'reality based' perspective SAW THAT IT WAS ALL A LIE. It was marks and dupes (you know, morons) who fell for Trump's con. Every single major media outlet (except Fox) made it clear that the election wasn't fraudulent, Biden won and Trump's claims were all lies. But these fools fell for Trump's con, the 'fake news' bullshit and all the rest of the lies. And now they are 'sorry'. File it under TFB. (Too Bad). -
I think the concept of zero humans is not going to happen. We (as a species, not individually) are too smart, to adaptable, too persistent. It may reach the point where there are only a few hundred thousand, maybe a few tens of thousands left. But look at the environments humans have adapted to and survived in (not talking about the arm chair 'preppers'). Inuits above the Arctic Circle. Bushmen in the Kalahari. Natives in the Amazon. I don't see us (again, as a species) going extinct. Even severe global warming will leave some areas that are habitable. Short of nuclear destruction, poisoning the entire planet (On The Beach, anyone?), there will be someplace that is habitable for at least a few people. It just won't be a lot of fun when most (almost all) of us die off.

The same stuff he's been posting for the past couple weeks. The same stuff the anti-science, anti-establishment folks have been pushing since the beginning. As was noted, the places Ivermectin has shown to be effective are places where parasites are common. So the reality that the Ivermectin is treating the parasites (duh) and that makes the person more healthy and robust, giving them a better chance of fighting off Covid doesn't seem to be registering. Add in a bunch of 'wishful thinking' and projection. That's why people are dying by the thousands.

This is the same person who thinks the Egyptian pyramids were used as grain silos.

Not sure what the whole deal was, but they adjusted the numbers a bit. Unvaxed are 5x more likely to catch it, not 3x. DHS site with corrected data: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/vaccine-status.htm?fbclid=IwAR3Ik5Ci8h4lYrL9RubdtQBMHCahnhTK8A3gAvgEjzgkTZ8JdHEJvF_UDtM

Who do you think tells Congress what laws to write & pass?

^This. Vaccines aren't perfect. None ever have been. Smallpox was completely eradicated through vaccination. Polio has been nearly eradicated. Measles, Mumps and a host of other diseases that have plagued mankind (sorry, couldn't resist) throughout history have been greatly reduced (at least until the current antivax idiocy took hold). I never got a smallpox vax as a kid. I didn't learn until fairly recently that they stopped vaxing kids once the chance of catching it went below the chance of serious effects from the vax (the chances are higher and the effects more serious than the current Covid vaxes). The idea of not vaxing kids for Covid because they don't get seriously sick is pretty stupid. The chances of a kid suffering a serious case of Covid is low. But not zero. Certainly higher than the chances of suffering serious side effects from the vax. And none of that changes the fact that a sick kid will be contagious before becoming symptomatic. So Junior catches Covid, and spreads it to Grandma & Grandpa before anyone knows he's sick. Being older, G&G have a much greater chance of getting seriously sick. Since we have, as an overall population, shown a complete inability to mask up, social distance, contact trace infections, or ANY of the measures that could help mitigate this, our only choice left is vaccination. And we're doing a pretty poor job of that. Wisconsin DHS released the November numbers for vaxed vs unvaxed. Unvaxed are: 3x more likely to catch it. 11x more likely to be hospitalized. 12x more likely to die.

Given that use of the J&J vax was suspended back in April for a few weeks due to serious side effect, I highly doubt that there are significant numbers of them with Pfizer (or Moderna). There were SIX women who developed significant clots. One died (she likely would have made it if she had sought medical help sooner). The idea that people are dying from the Pfizer vax in any sort of significant numbers (like more than one or two) is pretty ludicrous. I know of someone who got into a car accident on the way home from getting their vax. Ended up in the hospital with some pretty serious injuries. I know some people would blame that on the vax.

NOTAMs aren't NOTAMs anymore
wolfriverjoe replied to SethInMI's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Given all the awkward ways that 'gender neutral' has been done, this is pretty mundane. I get the idea that they wanted to keep "NOTAM" and this was probably the 'least bad' way to accomplish that. I'm good with it. -
The numbers I used were from Wisconsin Dept of Health Services. Different places have seen slightly different numbers. But they're all pretty close from what I've seen. Trump & the Rs spent the last 6 years convincing people that the 'media is lying about everything'. Along with all the other garbage which was simply lies the base wanted to hear. Not a huge surprise that they are now dying in droves because of the lies. Of course, the fact that Russian propaganda is aiding and abetting the lies, adding to the deaths is just another 'fun fact' in the whole thing. One of the more interesting ones is the "No thanks, I'm not your experiment" meme. https://ifunny.co/picture/no-thanks-i-m-not-your-experiment-wk7BrP5R8 The image is actually from a 50s Soviet anti-alcohol campaign. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/нет-no-poster Almost as if Putin and Russia are doing their very best to find ways of hurting the US by making the pandemic worse for us.

I've got some advanced math. Calc, Stats, nothing beyond sophomore college level. It's been a while so I only remember a bit. What I mostly know is that the math behind these stats (vaxxed vs unvaxxed, rates and cases, ect) is mostly beyond me. I DO know that the people behind the scenes, figuring out the numbers have the math to get it right. So, for legit sources, the data coming out is pretty solid. Not the shit being posted on FB, not the '99.9xxx survival rate', not the 'XX vaxxed are dying every day' not those claims. And ALL the legit math says vaxes work. Last I heard vaxxed were 8 times less likely to get sick. 11 times less likely to end up in the hospital. 15 times less likely to die.
