  1. No, you aren't. Author Richard Bach (Jonathan Livingston Seagull and a LOT of other stuff) often referred to his 'previous self' in the third person, as a different person. Typically something like "Richard of 1979". His rationale was that he wasn't the same person today as he was then. As a side note, every jumper should read JLS. It's a great description of the mentality and mindset that we have.
  2. How about Anita Hill? (I'd love to claim this as my own idea, but I can't. Saw it on FB)
  3. Hi Jerry, It doesn't look like he's learned his lesson. What a fucking idiot.
  4. Well, the future of hybrids just took a step. Not sure if it's 'forwards', 'sideways', or 'into battle'. Oshkosh Defense just unveiled a new prototype. It's the same as the JLTV, but it's a hybrid. It offers the standard 'better fuel economy' that all hybrids offer. It also offers a 115kw 'export power' capability. So it reduces the need for separate generators (not eliminate, but reduce). And the best part? The 'fun' part? Remember the big complaint about EVs? That they're so quiet that people can't hear them coming? Think about that in a combat situation. Where the vehicle you're driving has no engine noise. Just the tires as they go over the ground. Oshkosh calls that 'silent mode'. But, yeah, hybrids & EVs are for wimps & tree huggers. https://www.jsonline.com/story/money/business/2022/01/25/oshkosh-corp-unveils-electric-hybrid-military-vehicle/9208176002/
  5. Like an election? Trump supporters frothed at the mouth when the Mango Mussolini called people names. Now, when it's one of their own on the receiving end, they get all butt-hurt and cry about it.
  6. Aren't these the same bozos that screamed and yelled about 'banning books' when the Seuss family decided to stop printing a couple titles?
  7. Rule 34 (feel free to look that up too). If it exists, there's porn of it. They can do some VERY creative and interesting things with computer animation these days.
  8. I think he likes chocolate porn. Yes, that's a real thing. Rule 34.
  9. By making it the monochrome (sepia toned) that they fondly remember. Incorrectly, the way fond memories usually (always) are.
  10. I forget who the author was who begged 'the authorities' to ban his book. For the publicity. Often, banned books get a jump in sales. People want to know why they got banned and read the book to find out. Kids are generally smarter than they are given credit for: https://pennsylvanianewstoday.com/teens-appear-in-the-newly-created-kutztown-banned-book-club/304939/
  11. Ok, that makes this make more sense. Seen on FB: M&M Mars has relented. They're now going to produce a "Tucker Carlson" M&M. White, bitter and sold in pack of only that one because they will melt down when placed near multi colored M&Ms.
  12. 2 1/2 months in ICU. Last I heard, unvaxed on a vent have about a 20% survival rate. Once it gets bad enough that the vent is needed, the patient is pretty much a goner. Although it's not going to happen, I'd just love to see this level of care denied the unvaxed, unless there's some to spare. They're overtaxing the hospitals & staff. And then they have the balls to say "they didn't take good enough care of him". Bitch, if he'd 'taken enough care' to get vaxed, this would not have ended this way.
  13. Oh yes. The "Eastman Memo" outlined some very devious (and practical) ways that Trump could have stolen the election. The 'fake electors' is just one of them. We came a lot closer to Trump stealing the presidency from Biden than many people realize. I'm not sure what would have happened if he had pulled it off. Court battles? Street battles? Military intervention? No clue. But the idea that the military would seize the voting machines is a lot less realistic than any of the above.
  14. I can't see that happening (have happened?) The "Election Fraud" bullshit was a lost cause from the start (at least from a legal standpoint). Every single lawsuit was tossed. In many cases, the defendants (the states and their election boards) won judgements that required the plaintiffs (Trump's stooges) to pay the legal bills.| Every state, blue, red, purple, even plaid found that the election was free & fair. If Trump had tried this, every state would likely have taken it to court and won. And I doubt the military would have had any part of it. The leadership at the Pentagon made it VERY clear that their loyalty was to the country & the constitution. Anyone paying attention knew full well that they would oppose any sort of action by Trump to stay in power illegally. While there's a fairly large segment of R supporters who believe Trump's lies about the 'stolen' election, they're the same type that think HRC should be locked up, that Covid is a hoax, that Q is real. You know... Morons.
  15. Lots of stuff is being researched. Prevention, improved testing, improved treatments, recovery for people who have long-term issues (Long Covid). all sorts of different things. Because the vax is preventative (it should be given to everyone, not just the sick people), and because the idiots have politicized it and put it at the front of the news, it's getting all the attention.
  16. Well, all of those 'tens of thousands'* of health care workers than have been fired for refusing to get vaxed could open up a hospital. Ivermectin, HQC, zinc & vitamins. Bleach injections and UV lights up the butt. Nebulized H2O2 instead of ventilators and oxygen. Let the unvaxed morons go there. * - For those that don't get my sarcasm, the numbers of unvaxed health care that refused the vax and got fired is actually pretty small. Mayo released a statement that they fired 700, out of 73000. Less than one percent. That is pretty typical from what I've heard & read.
  17. Who is saying that he should? He doesn't pretend that he didn't have advantages. How many Trumpettes say "I didn't have any privilege!!!! I did it ALL myself!!!" Hell, Trump himself thinks he's a 'self made' man. I'm quite happy that I'm an adult white male. It gives me all sorts of nifty advantages. I don't pretend otherwise. As Ryoder noted, there's not one white person that would trade places with Chris Rock.
  18. Don't you get it? It's Fuck YOUR Feelings. As in the people opposed to Trump. For the MAGA Moron crew, THEIR feelings are of utmost importance. That's why CRT needs to be banned. That's why Colin Kapernick needs to be punished. That's why we need 'English Only' rules. That's why the Herman Cain Awards need to be banished. All those things 'hurt the feelings' of the Trumpettes. So they have to stop. If that hurts YOUR feelings, too fucking bad.
  19. Seen on FB: The people who threw rocks at Ruby Bridges for wanting to go to school are now upset that their grandchildren might be taught that they threw rocks at Ruby Bridges for wanting to go to school.
  20. Yeah, those death threats tend to make retirement look pretty good.
  21. According to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, it's a felony. She wants to see the federal government press the charges, because they could likely tack on conspiracy charges too. Link:https://www.8newsnow.com/news/politics/michigan-official-wants-criminal-probe-into-false-electoral-documents-citing-bigger-conspiracy/
  22. Yup. There are places that have exceptions to the vax requirements for people that have had it. So there are anti-vax morons throwing "Covid parties" to catch it. The problem is that 'catching it' has a not small risk of bad things. Like 'death'.
  23. Don't know for sure, and it's not as bad as it used to be. But I'd bet 'earning' the VP meant working twice as hard, a lot more hours, doing much better work than the men in the same position. (no sexual innuendo at all).
  24. History is written by the victors. Hence, it tends to be a bit biased. As a 'funny' aside, I guess I'm not terribly surprised that it was Virginia that banned CRT in public schools. In 1958, after the SC decided that segregated schools were 'bad' (Brown v Board of Education), Virginia chose to SHUT DOWN public schools rather than desegregate them. In the county were the lawsuit originated, the schools were shut down for FIVE YEARS. Funny that I had never learned this in 'school'. I found out about it when I read the book "Hidden Figures", because the women profiled in the book were in that part of Virginia, working at the Langley Research facility.
  25. She's successful, she's a woman and she's a minority. What's not to hate?
