  1. I'd be more inclined to believe that Bat Boy has returned (Weekly World News).
  2. Epoch Times. Right. Sure.
  3. No. I also don't denigrate all religions or religious people. But I have no issues pointing out the hypocrisy, blatant ignorance or outright stupidity when it shows up. One place that sort of shit is showing up a lot lately is the Herman Cain Awards. People refusing the vax because it's the "Mark Of The Beast" (you know, like QR codes, credit cards, barcodes and a zillion other things were). Many of these same people intentionally place the 'mark' of a guy who sure fits the description of the anti-christ right on their foreheads (where the actual Mark is supposed to be placed). People calling for "Prayer Warriors" to 'storm the gates of Heaven' with prayers. As if the number of people praying, or when they pray makes any difference. These 'warriors' also pray very specifically for things (improved O2 saturation, lowered blood pressure, increased urine output, bowel movements - no joke) because their omniscient, all powerful God needs their direction to know what to do. And, my personal favorite, they claim to be 'vaxed in the blood of Jesus'. Completely ignoring the fact that Jesus' blood allows the forgiveness of your sins after you die. Protection while you're still alive - zero.
  4. Respect is a two way street. When the evangelists say that 'anyone who doesn't believe what WE do is going to hell, my 'respect' for them goes way down. When they scream how much they love Jesus, and then turn around and do basically the opposite of EVERTHING he taught, the same thing happens. When they try to hide their discrimination behind 'sincere religious beliefs', while at the same time behaving in ways that blatantly violate those same beliefs, to expect me to 'respect those beliefs' is rather silly. When they try to claim that Biden is the anti-christ, when their hero, Trump seems to fit the description a LOT better, when they call him "Joe & the Ho, ignoring the fact that the former first lady was a porn model... That 'respect' is gone. Completely, totally, utterly gone.
  5. He's baaaaaaaack. I know ParaGear sells seals & presses. Not sure how picky they are about checking credentials. But you can rig up a suitable substitute. Get a medium sized C-clamp (the kind that screws down). Find an old typewriter. Cut out the letters for the seal symbol. Just use the tips of the strike keys. You can use thread or a rubber band to hold the letters in place, then screw the clamp down to press the seal. Disclaimer: This is a suitable response to the OP. I would not suggest anyone else do this. He's special.
  6. Ron started the thread and called it 'History In The Making'. He clearly thought something along those lines. I saw a stat on the news tonight that 56% of Rs think that the insurrection attempt was actually patriotism. I've seen the stat recently that over 60% of Rs believe the idiotic lie that the election was 'stolen' (someone please explain to me why the Rs nearly kept the Senate and gained seats in the House). Fucking idiots.
  7. We understand what gravity does. We understand it's 'rules'. We can quantify it quite well. But understand how it works? Nope. There have been lots of attempts at explanations. None have succeeded. Yet. That's why they still call it a 'theory'.
  8. Try an AFF jump. It's a bit more complicated and difficult than 'just pull the cord'.
  9. You're an anomaly. The cliched 'exception that proves the rule'.
  10. Great. 2000 years ago, scientific understanding was very low. So they had laws against eating certain things. They had no idea that pigs carried a variety of parasites & microbes that could be very dangerous. They just knew that people who ate it often got sick & died. So "God said they're unclean and don't eat them". We know a lot more now. Yet 'social inertia', combined with heavy duty brain-washing keep these myths alive and kicking. Marx was right. Take kids, indoctrinate them heavily and you have a convert for life. The same applies to those who are in very desperate straits. How anyone with a reasonable amount of intelligence can believe in "creation" or in the story of Noah (and most of the rest of the Bible) continues to amaze me. THAT is the 'Olympic level mental gymnastics' that I'm referring to.
  11. No, silly. The son, who was sent to earth to suffer and die so that our sins (our own behaviors) would not condemn us to hell. The one who said (paraphrased) Accept me as your savior because I love you. Or don't and burn in hell for all eternity. That's the zombie. And God too, at the same time (along with that "Holy Spirit" thing, which has not ever been accurately defined). The mental gymnastics required for this are Olympic level.
  12. Millions in political contributions (bribes) for BILLIONS in tax breaks. Best investment EVER.
  13. The cause of the fire isn't anywhere near as relevant as the speed that it spread and the damage it did. Something like 97% are started by people. Some accidently, some intentionally, some negligently. Climate change doesn't cause the fires. It doesn't start the fires. But they sure seem to be bigger and more destructive than they used to be.
  14. Damn. Beat me to it. "Feathers" aren't really my thing. I prefer fur myself. But penguin porn would be interesting.
  15. Many insurance policies, particularly life & disability, do just that.
  16. And now the little snowflake is complaining because he's 'being attacked for utilizing his freedom of speech'. No dumbass, you're being attacked for being an asshole. https://theweek.com/joe-biden/1008415/dad-who-told-president-lets-go-brandon-on-christmas-eve-says-he-was-joking
  17. Don't forget that one of the things the discovery process was looking at was who/where his financial support is coming from. He refused to disclose that (among other things). As is often the case, follow the money to see where it all comes from. Apparently he'd rather lose the case and get all his money taken away than disclose his money trail. Why might that be? Hmmmmm...
  18. Thank you. I just copied & pasted the header from the page that popped up when I clicked on the link from WI DHS. I forgot to check that the link worked. Duh.
  19. FDA is sending a letter to the Federation of State Medical Boards (which is something I was previously unaware of) warning about Ivermectin. http://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/WIDHS/2021/12/22/file_attachments/2030302/Ivermectin Letter to FSMB Final (1).pdf?fbclid=IwAR0NrfvZMkQlDSLBh6P3XEP3zYh5GAuLQghmVq7TCt_SySo1z8gssDKZ7_Y It doesn't work and the side effects can be dangerous. Duh.
  20. You need to answer a few questions first (I don't need the answers, but you do). What languages do you speak? English only is going to limit you. Spanish opens up a lot of places. What sort of climate do you want? Warm all the time? Hot? Cold sometimes? I live in Wisconsin. It really sucks sometimes, but the change of seasons makes it worth it. I'm not sure how well I'd tolerate, say, Southern California. I know I wouldn't tolerate Florida or Arizona well. What kind of 'critters' can you tolerate? Jerry suggested Australia. It's a really nice place, but the critters are pretty impressive (not in a good way). Spiders the size of dinner plates. The world's 10 most deadly snakes (yes, all 10 of the 'top 10'). What kind of politics can you tolerate? How much corruption? There are lots of places with nice climate, low cost of living, otherwise quite nice, but corrupt as hell. The 'elite' do what they want, own the cops and the 'little people' have to just take it. As much as we bitch here in the US, we've actually got it better than most places (for now, anyway -Off to SC with that). What are your job prospects? I remember you're in health care (not exactly sure, nurse of some level?). That's a skill that is useful most everywhere, but valued differently in different places. Many of the 'more civilized' places are pretty strict on emigration (permanent resident). There are more questions like these, but this is what I could think of. Good luck with your search.
  21. Absolutely hilarious how the Alt-Right is losing their fucking minds over THAT little statement. The Qcumbers can't believe it (they believe just about anything else, no matter how stupid). Candace Owens is claiming that Trump is 'too old' to know how to find alternative garbage on the internet. Even Trump himself was rather confused when Biden thanked & praised him for making the statement. In "Trump World", anything Biden says is a lie. So Biden praising Trump is... Hmmm. Personally, I hope some of the Trumpettes take his advice. Most won't. They're too stubborn and stupid. Too entrenched in their 'cultural warfare', too determined to 'own the libs' I still don't understand how they 'own' people by strangling on their own snot as their lungs fill up and harden, but hey, that's what they want to do. I don't see the Herman Cain Awards slowing down in the near future. In fact, I know someone who's a perfect candidate. It's a shame. He's a pretty nice guy. But he's down the rabbit hole. He just posted the picture of the lion standing in a flock of sheep, with the caption: "How I feel out among the vaccinated." Yeah, he's not likely to have a nice spring.
  22. So that's a 'no' on being able to support your claim of significant numbers of people suffering serious side effects from the vax. Gotcha. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html
  23. There's a lot more to learn. This is a virus that hadn't been seen before it appeared two years ago. BUT (and it's an important 'but'), there's a lot about viruses in general that we DO know. And we've learned a lot about Covid-19 in the past two years, including how to create a vaccine to help prevent it (not perfectly, but no vax is). The part that's infuriating is how many people simply refuse to believe it. They pretend it's a 'hoax'. Or that the vax is killing people. Or that they won't get it. Or if they do get it, it will be 'just like the flu'. So many of them have wrapped up their 'tribal identity' (political views) in it. The unvaxed are dying by the thousands. Something like 80% of them are Trump supporters. If they weren't overloading the health care system I really wouldn't care (regardless of their political alignments). If they want to risk dying because of their idiocy, that's on them. But they're filling the hospitals. To the point that other people, people with legitimate health issues, people that DID take proper precautions, get vaxed, ect are being denied care because of the morons.
  24. We might even have a sitting president call them 'very fine people'. Oh... Wait... We did.
  25. I consider both. For example, anything posted that links a story to the "Western Journal", WMD, Breitbart, InfoWars, Epoch Times*, ect is not automatically dismissed, but it treated with a great deal of skepticism. If the claims presented are clearly false, then I don't even bother. You claim that you know people who have died from the vax are impossible to believe. As is the claim that you know more people who have suffered serious side effect from the vax than have died from Covid. Please post some backup to that. Or don't. The lack of documentation simply proves my point. * - The Epoch Times is a load of crap. But they sometimes have some stuff that has a bit of reality and accuracy to it. https://www.theepochtimes.com/amputee-mama-cat-adopts-2-orphaned-kittens-one-starving-one-found-on-a-scrap-heap_4100571.html I have a great deal of familiarity with this story, I volunteer at Safe Haven. The part about the mama cat being pregnant when she was attacked and had to deal with everything associated with it (amputation and recover) is correct. The part about both orphan kittens starving until placed with Yuki is false. Both of the kittens were bottle fed successfully for a day or so before being place with her. Safe Haven has taken in 'bottle babies' repeatedly in the past. They have folks who are very good at nurturing and raising orphan newborns. But with a nursing mother cat in the building, trying placement with her was a 'no-brainer'. A real mom cat is far superior to a human foster. Not the first time it's been done.
