Absolutely. There's the US Senator from Wisconsin, Ron Johnson. He's up for election this year and is currently running ads touting how much he opposed Biden's 'liberal spending', and completely ignoring the fact that he supported Trump's tax cuts for the rich. You know, because 'deficit spending' is bad, while reducing the government income tremendously is good... For the rich. Like him.

I think you have it backwards. Fox has gained so much popularity because they pander to those who need everything simple. You know, the 'sheep' who need to be led by simple, three or four word phrases and slogans.

To be clear, the official who's threatening and defaming her is the INDIANA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. That's not what I'd call a 'local' official. The AG is also facing a defamation suit and a complaint to the Bar Association.

Thanks. I knew there had been something like this, but couldn't remember it (or enough of it to find it). IIRC, Smithsonian's Air & Space magazine did a story on it. I remember that the article pointed out the fact that the nuke ramjet would have very radioactive exhaust. So, in addition to turning the target into the proverbial 'glass parking lot', it had the 'advantage' of leaving a path of contamination and death along the route it took from launch to target.

The reason Rittenhouse was acquitted was because the DA & Judge 'tanked' the case. It's really unusual for a vigilante to successfully claim 'self-defense'.

You're just realizing this? He's a troll. I have no clue what he actually believes. He just posts shit to get responses.

Can't See What's Right In Front Of Them
wolfriverjoe replied to wolfriverjoe's topic in Speakers Corner
I asked that question back when I was a kid. Something along the lines of: Since the people that claim Jesus as their 'savior' tend to treat each other in a way that goes about as far against his teachings as is possible, has he decided not to come back, that we'd just throw away his gift again? Suffice to say that didn't go very well. -
So many of the 'fundamentalist Christians' love to take the Bible literally. As actual fact. One of their 'favorite' parts is the Book of Revelation. While most actual historians believe that the author wrote it as short term prophecy, with the 'antichrist' being Nero Cesar, most 'true believers' want to think it applies to them. Even on here, there are some who think that the 'End Times' are approaching, and that Christ will return (latest prediction - 2050 or thereabouts). So many of them see the 'prophecies unfolding before their own eyes', thinking they are going to be raptured. They want to pretend that so many things are the 'mark of the beast'. Credit cards, bar codes, QR codes, and most recently, the imaginary 'microchip' that would be implanted via the tiny, tiny needle used for vaccination. This all despite the Bible clearly stating the 'mark' would be on the hand or on the forehead (hmmmmm.... What is it that so many of the Trump faithful wear on their forehead?) It's even been speculated that Obama himself is the anti-Christ (yes, someone on here posted that - you can likely guess who it was). The 'funny' part is that there is a LOT of things in Revelation that identify the anti-Christ. Not so much appearance, but behavior. Things he will do, things he will say, things he will get his followers to believe. Would the Evangelicals actually RECOGNIZE the anti-Christ if he was in their midst? Or are they so gullible and foolish that they'd worship him? I've said it for a while that Trump bears a lot more resemblance to the anti-Christ than just about anyone whom the Evangelicals accuse of being it. And they blindly follow Trump, ignoring his flaws, faults and just plain evilness. I don't pretend to know the entirety of Revelation, or the Bible. I've read much of the Bible, but it's been a while. Fortunately, there are some actual Bible scholars. Who DO know what's in it. What do they think (or at least one of them)? Betcha can guess. https://www.benjaminlcorey.com/could-american-evangelicals-spot-the-antichrist-heres-the-biblical-predictions/

Which "M1" are you talking about? The M1 Garand (rifle) is the one with the 8 round en block clip. I've never seen or heard of a detachable magazine conversion for it. If there was, it would probably be for the 20 round BAR mag. But those are pretty rare & expensive. It could also be the 20 round for the M1A/M14. But that's for 308, not the 30-06 that the Garand is chambered in. There aren't any 30 cal 30 round mags for US rifles that I know of. The other "M1" is the M1 Carbine. A much smaller & lighter weapon, it shoots a much less powerful cartridge. In fact, the M1 Carbine round is very similar to the 357 Magnum pistol round (other than the diameter of the bullet and shell casing). The Carbine has detachable mags (no en bloc clip) of 15 or 30 rounds. If you want 'similar to an AR, the best example is the Ruger Mini-14. Semi auto, same .223 cartridge, can use 5, 10, 20 or 30 round mags. But it has a wood stock and looks like an 'old fashioned' rifle. It's essentially a 'non-scary-looking' AR. Funny thing - The Mini 14 wasn't affected at all by the 94 'Assault Weapons' ban.

Oh please. The REAL value was in the committee showing the entire world what a little chicken-shit coward he is. The Trumpettes won't care, they don't give a shit about reality. But the rest of the world is laughing at him. And he knows it.

Right. But without the revenue from cable/satellilte/streaming services, they won't see much income. Are you paying for it?

Awwwww. That's a shame.

I can only think of one situation where the 'bad guys' wearing body armor had a significant effect on the outcome (LA Bank of America shootout). After it happened, many if not most of the cops started carrying 'tactical' rifles (mostly AR-type) in their cars. Keep in mind that a centerfire rifle round (even a 'little' one like the .223/5.56) will penetrate standard body armor with no difficulty. In many places, it's illegal for a convicted felon to own body armor. In some places, the biggest civilian users of them are liquor store & convenience store clerks and taxi drivers.

Don't forget that the Rs have been systematically disenfranchising the poor and minorities for a while. Some of the latest efforts are REALLY scary. How about the idea that a Republican appointed 'election commission' can decide to ignore the vote? Toss it out completely and install whatever candidate they want. That's where we are heading. And it's not too far off. Do you think the sitting Supreme Court would rule that sort of thing 'unconstitutional'?

Not really. Back in the early 90s, the anti-gun crowd scored a number of 'wins'. The got the Brady bill passed, the 'assault weapons' bill passed, they were in the process of taking apart the gun makers through frivolous lawsuits (the suits never went anywhere, but the manufacturers spent a tin of money fighting them). It was pretty clear they wanted to put extensive bans in place (look up "Brady 2"). Then the 94 midterms gave the Rs control of both houses, in large part due to the NRA beating the "they're coming for your GUNS!!" drum" which, at the time had a fair amount of truth to it. There hasn't been any significant legislation passed since. Despite the lack of action, the NRA hasn't shut up, and LOVES to pretend the Ds want to take them all away.

Fully vaxxed & boosted. He should be fine. One thing I've learned - the claims that the newer variants are 'mild' has some truth to it... As long as you're vaxxed. Unvaxxed, not so much.

Every single doctor in Ohio was willing to let this particular 10 year old have a child. That's why she had to go to Indiana.

He's not US based.

Are you aware of how close they came to succeeding? They didn't have to 'take over the government'. They only had to prevent Congress & the VP from certifying the election. If they had managed to do that, there is/was a very real chance that they could have ignored the election results and could have installed Trump as president for a 2nd term. The more I learn about this, the more I realize how complex, intricate, and well planned this whole thing was.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
wolfriverjoe replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Gotta love how the people actually running the government don't appear to have actually read the Constitution. Congress-creatures have immunity from arrest under certain circumstances. Not prosecution. Quick search found this: https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/verify/no-members-congress-arent-immune-getting-arrested/275-eb867380-1350-4af6-b694-19de7d750ce6 -
So let's see them charged with 'tampering with evidence'.

Well, considering the 'prohibitionists' redifined 'baby' to suit their needs...

Well, since the standard 'thoughts and prayers' are not working, the alt-right has decided to up the ante. New laws? Better mental health care? ANYTHING even remotely based on reality? Don't be silly. I'm talking about Fox Garbage Network (it's not 'news') They suggest exorcisms. No clue who they plan on doing it to, how they plan on identifying them or any of the zillion other questions that arise from this idiocy, but apparently this fool is serious: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/hire-exorcists-end-mass-shootings-002552287.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAM6T5dKrjUIfGYzJQa5fOGzN-mwx42sN4hrOcg7SZleUs0eU2r499A9Rwk_iQ4yci9OUJkfZndyHqMRP-70aq5YSQMUJvIL3T7mrgZ8gBpoqHBKJkRYHlHvmPOAUfxEUynsxvamm2EFymjXGUKR1Ds4AQi_Ld2M-Zrguh5gQlq1z Personally, the scariest part about the whole story is that the guy suggesting this was Secretary of EDUCATION under Bush 1.

The Supreme Court is our biggest problem

Well, there was a time when a pregnant woman could be executed before 'quickening'. That is, when the fetus starts to move and can be shown to be alive. -
Better for whom? Affluent white men? You betcha. Minorities? Women? LBGTQ? Not so much.
