Duel, not Dual. Stars Dennis Weaver. Directed by Steven Spielberg (his first film) You are more likely to find it at your public library. I see it as an unreasonable, unconstitutional infringement on the rights of the citizens of California. But because the law has a (horribly restrictive) way to legally sell the weapons it isn't a ban And no, I don't find it unusual at all for a street cop to be fully in support of gun rights. They are the ones most likely to understand: 1-How few cops are really out there to "protect" the civilian population 2-That law abiding citizens usually obey the law. 3-That criminals, by definition, don't obey the law; and that any gun laws will be ignored by them. They aren't technically banning it, they are placing requirements on the sale that seem to be intended to discourage manufacturers from selling there. And they have made it more difficult to bring any weapons into the state. It isn't a ban, but the state is clearly preventing it's citizens from possessing arms. How not to get taken? Take along someone who knows bikes. Although, it's not all that hard to tell. Scrapes, dents, and bent things are hard to really hide. If you have much mechanical knowledge, you will be able to tell. Price depends on the market. All I can suggest is shop around a good bit. The mid-size (500-600) aren't all that high performance. That starts at 750 and up. IMO, the best first bike is a 250/350/400 street/trail. More comfortable than a crotch rocket, handles better than you'd think (mainly due to light weight), not so powerful as to get you into trouble. Get a used one, ride it for a while, then sell it and move up. Or keep it for fun, they do ok (not great) off road. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." I have NO idea. My first jump was in 02. My knowledge of the dummy reserve comes entirely from the article in Parachutist a couple years back. It was marked with a big red X, but was grabbed by the FBI, who were let in by an airport staffer who had a key. Crossey was contacted by phone, but couldn't make it to the DZ in time, and wasn't there. Perhaps part of the reason for the delay in getting the gear to SeaTac? Snow- I have 500+ hours in light planes. I flew for 9 years back in the 80's. The first time I ever saw a parachute was when I jumped for the first time. Unless the plane is doing aerobatics, they aren't required. There are setups that have a parachute built into the smallest of light planes, but that's a totally different thing. 377- The dummy reserve was a practice setup made by Cossey for ground training. He took a regular canopy, removed several panels and resewed it. He used it for students to practice the "scoop and throw" reserve deployment during ground training. He made it so that he could stuff it back into the container with minimal time and effort. Orange1- AFAIK, axes and escape ropes are standard emergency equipment in many big planes, passenger and cargo. Getting out of the cockpit in a hurry in case of fire, being able to get to the ground safely, that sort of thing. FWIW the "saw tooth" back on the survival knives (Rambo knives) was originally designed to go through aluminum aircraft skin, not wood. I think Cooper depended on the "give them what they want and get them out of here" policy that was in place (and public knowledge) at the time. Keeping Tina close and having the bomb would keep the authorities and any potential heroes at bay. Only a guess, but "hiding" in the bathroom to avoid the other passengers, no matter where they exited makes sense to me. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." #1 Have fun. #2 Get video if you can. There's lots more really good answers in This thread You don't say where in Texas, but there's lots of DZs there. Keep in mind that one jump may not be enough for you. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

Update: Due to finances, commitments, and general burnout, Wolf River Skydivers is closed. The plane has been sold and will be leaving Labor Day weekend. Student operations have ended. We did the best we could for as long as we could, but it just isn't feasible to continue. The remaining members deeply regret having to make this choice, but there isn't any alternative. We had a great time, and have made many wonderful memories and even more wonderful friends. Those of us continuing to jump will be found at Green Bay Skydivers in Pulaski. We have worked with them on a few projects over the past few years and have been welcomed with open arms. I hope to see you there. Joe If you haven't been to WRS in a few years, you will be surprised. It has gone from a 3 plane 50+ member club that went non-stop from Friday night to Sunday night every weekend to a much smaller, more laid-back operation. AFF is no longer available, Britt and Cap have retired from the sport. Tandems and static line are still here. There is only one plane, but there are only a dozen active members, so getting on a load is actually easier. On several weekends last year, there was only one group jumping, so the pilot was waiting for the jumpers to pack up. Imagine having a plane waiting for the jumpers to get ready! Because of the much smaller operation, RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST! The DZ is NOT open every weekend, and classes/tandems are not automatically available when it is open. However, because it is a small operation, two or three jumpers is all it takes to get up. One of the members calls a pilot (there are three of them), and up we go. Although primarily a weekend operation, weekday evenings during mid summer are great times to jump. Again, a couple members call a pilot, and jump from late afternoon until sunset (9pm in mid-June).

He cheated and lied about it. (would he have admitted it if you didn't have proof?) He left you. He wouldn't talk to you before. There is a difference between forgiving someone and putting yourself in a position to let them use/hurt you again. He is lonely and needy. You have gone through a breakup, the loss of a friend and your dad's illness. I would think that makes you emotionally vulnerable. Guys think with their dick. Women think with their heart. Leaving the brain out of the process is a bad idea for either gender. I'd steer clear if I were you. It's really easy to remember the good and downplay the bad. Especially when you are in a vulnerable state. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

One way to check for power leak... Pull the radio fuse. Turn off all electrical components. Remove the negative battery cable and (do this in the dark) watch for an electrical spark as you touch the cable to the battery. If you see a small spark as you touch the cable to the battery, this means there is a current draw. To go a step further, you can pull one fuse at a time and repeat this test until the spark goes away. When the spark goes away, you've identified the circut that has the short or current draw. Depending on your car, this test may or may not work... sorry but it's a starting point. This is true and will work, but does OP have ability and willingness to do it? (I don't know, I'm asking) Any shop will have an ammeter that will do the same task quickly and easily. The power draw will give an idea what it might be (at least the size of the item). And repeatedly, quickly powering up some things isn't very good for them. I know you said to turn everything off, but some stuff gets power all the time, and doing the "spark check" can cause problems. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Batteries should last longer than that. They should also have a warranty. It sounds like something is drawing power while the car is shut off. Even the dome light will draw enough power to drain the battery when it's cold. Any good shop should be able to run a quick (cheap) check on your electrical system. All you need to do is find out if you are drawing power when the car is shut off. The door switch is probably a good suspect. The stereo is too. Only thing I buy these days is .22 and shotgun. Best in the world IMO: Dillon Precision. And yes, plenty of bullets, brass, powder and primers. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

1 on the step, 1 in the crotch, the 3rd hanging off the strut with 1 foot on the step. I take a little practice, it helps if the guy out on the strut has done it a few times. You can also have the 3rd guy dive/get pulled out the door, but that's a bit harder. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Yes, "right" is 'no government' and "left" is 'complete control'. I've always wondered why the "extreme left" of communism and the "extreme right" of facism/nazism seemed so similar. And marveled at how far from the original intentions of the writers of the constitution we have come. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Nope. The piping is in the basement, hooked up straight to the heater. I have a huge space heater down there right now (yes, I'm keeping an eye on it so the house doesn't burn down) Hope that thaws them out. My mistake... Only a small portion of the pipes are exposed & in the basement; most are inside the walls. The space heater isn't doing much good to warm the small segment of piping that is exposed (I thought this would be the case, but my mom thought it was worth a try). What has me confused the most is the fact that the basement has no warm water, our kitchen up here doesn't; but the bathroom does. The upstairs above us, asll the sinks are able to run warm water. I'm confused as to why some of the sinks are working, but some only have cold water. Because the pipes are only frozen in a couple spots. Tracing the pipes is the only way to know what feeds where, and that will tell you where the blockages (frozen spots) are. The pipe wrap will thaw for a good distance from where it is put on the pipes, but be careful for possible splits. The frozen spots are most likely close to outside walls. Is the kitchen sink close to an outside wall? The upstairs and the bathroom feeds probably run up an interior wall. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." I feel the same as JohnMitchell. Not that these dogs shouldn't be given a chance. But that the people who take these dogs in should understand what they are getting. I would be very careful putting any dog with a history of abuse in a home with small children. And Pit Bulls have characteristics that can be very dangerous if not properly understood. They can be very loving and protective. But they are terriers. A group that has been bred to tenaciously chase small things that move quickly. The dog in my profile pic is a Yorkie mix. He is absolutely vicious to chipmunks and squirrels. He'll go after your ankle if you run past him too closely. It's a breed trait to chase things. And Pit Bulls get up to 80lbs or so, which makes them potentially dangerous to kids. This is not to say that they are bad dogs, just that they have characteristics that need to be understood before you own one. Failure to do that is what has given them such a bad rep. I agree with Cesar Milan (the dog whisperer) that there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. And I'm very glad that these dogs got a second chance and a good home. Kathleen Soliah, aka Sara Jane Olsen. Involved in a bombing incident in San Fran. She was part of the SLA (the group that kidnapped Patty Hearst). She was found in Minnestoa because of the TV show "America's Most Wanted". They have helped identify and catch a lot of people. Google her name for a lot more info. Right, the odds of the money being recognized in circulation were figured out a while back, and were really small. If the money wasn't spent or deposited in a lump sum, the chance of getting caught is almost zero. It is quite possible that the money went through the system and was worn out and destroyed. Given the deteriorated condition, I speculated that the money was "stashed" somewhere (improperly) and dumped somehow so that it ended up at Tena Bar. More of it may have been damaged, but didn't end up at Tena Bar, or not. This is pure speculation. But at least it is on topic.
