  1. Well, Trump may well have been set up. But I have yet to hear Trump denounce any of Fuentes' statements or political positions. And the number of Rs who have denounced Trump for this is ALSO very small.
  2. Well, I seem to recall certain individuals insisted on calling Obama by his middle name, Hussein. Hatred & bigotry aren't among their more endearing features, but they're rather prominent ones.
  3. While every post on US politics is anti-Biden and pro-Republican. An 'independent'... Riiiiiiight
  4. Seen on Kyiv Craigslist: For sale - 10,000 Russian AK rifles. Nearly new condition. Never been fired, only dropped once. (yes, that's a very old joke) Funny how Slim is calling incessantly for Ukraine to surrender to Russia, yet NEVER calling on Russia to stop it's unprovoked attacks on civilian infrastructure.
  5. Well, given the current court's regard for precedent, that isn't the best argument. But they do seem to have an affinity for the 'sanctity' of the court. Even the Trumpette appointees aren't allowing people to ignore subpoenas.
  6. Yes. They denied Lindsey Grahams attempts to avoid testifying. https://www.npr.org/2022/11/01/1131776586/supreme-court-lindsey-graham-grand-jury-georgia
  7. Has the US Supreme Court allowed anyone involved in the attempt to steal the election get away with ignoring subpoenas? As far as I've seen, every court involved has denied any attempt to evade testifying.
  8. That's a hell of an edit. I have no clue about reporters being suspended, stories retracted, or any of that. I haven't been following the hubub all that closely. I don't have an issue with differing stories coming out of a situation like this. It's almost guaranteed that witnesses will give VERY different stories about the same incident. It's why eyewitness testimony is unreliable. I have no clue why the DOJ is standing by a story refuted by video (if it actually is refuted by that video). And honestly, I don't care all that much. Unless the suspect starts to scream something like "I was framed!!!", I'll go with what the prosecutor says. At least until I have good reason to doubt that (not that it couldn't happen, it just hasn't yet).
  9. I'm not terribly surprised. Reporters have sources and are often able to see all sorts of stuff (video, documents, ect) that 'ordinary people' don't have access to. That doesn't make it all a nefarious plot to hide the 'truth'. I don't have a need to see it. I don't believe anyone other than the cops & prosecutors do either.
  10. Classic. Pay no attention to what is actually said, make up a bunch of lies, spread them around among fools, idiots, dupes and others, watch the lie grow. https://www.npr.org/2022/03/25/1087910880/biological-weapons-far-right-russia-ukraine Abso-fucking-lutely hilarious how Fox "news" promotes the Russian propaganda.
  11. Because it's private security footage shot in a private home. Because it's not anybody's business but the Pelois', the cops and the prosecutors (defense attorneys would have a right to see it under 'discovery' rules if the prosecutors use it at trial).
  12. Yeah, but Beyonce REALLY SHOULD HAVE won.
  13. Restful? Not so much. Fulfilling? You bet. Cat turkey party at the cat rescue: https://www.facebook.com/safehavengb/videos/1085288718786761
  14. One of the things that led to the moratorium on executions in Illinois in 2000 was the fact that there had been 12 executions since it was reinstated in the late 70s... And 13 exonerations by the Innocence Project. You can't have a discussion on capitol punishment without bringing wrongful convictions into it. "Executing" an innocent person is... Murder. Just because it's state sanctioned doesn't reduce the severity of the crime. How about subjecting those involved in wrongful conviction to prosecution? Cops who coerce confessions? Cops who falsify evidence? Prosecutors who ignore or hide exculpatory evidence? Let THEM face murder charges. With the death penalty on the table. You could even expand that to the prison. Who actually killed the innocent man? Let the people who put in the IV lines and hooked up the 'lethal cocktail' see some consequences for their actions. I know, 'they were just following orders'. Right. Disclaimer: Much of this is snark & sarcasm. But I DO think the immunity police & prosecutors have goes way too far.
  15. Fixed some more (includes return of all kidnapped Ukranians). But I had posted this about a month ago. It's rather interesting to see how weak and pathetic Putin and the Russian Army really is. Putin's lobbing missiles at civilian infrastructure. There's very little military value in what he's doing. It's a very real possibility this could be a prosecutable war crime. Personally, I'd like to see Ukraine get reasonably long range weapons. And use them against Russia. One could argue that oil refineries provide military material and are legit targets. They're also pretty easy targets for missiles & such. You don't have to target precisely. Any good hit on the complex is going to cause flammables to leak and any fire is going to take off. It wouldn't be a good idea, I know that. It likely isn't going to happen. But for Putin to be on the receiving end of the exact same thing he's been doing would be rather fitting.
  16. Ok,, thanks for the correction. Murkowski was the only one facing reelection who voted to convict. That's what I misread.
  17. Well, Walker is facing questions about his Texas property taxes. He claimed a 'homestead' credit on his Texas property. Which is supposed to be for one's 'principal residence'. Which would make his Georgia residency somewhat in doubt. There are exceptions and loopholes, so he's not necessarily disqualified, but it doesn't look good. https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/23/politics/kfile-herschel-walker-texas-tax-break-georgia-runoff/?dicbo=v2-e4ced6120d150d806e3c5e6c0246c906&hpt=ob_blogfooterold OTOH, Alaska (and their ranked choice voting) have likely elected 'D' Mary Peltola to the house and "never-Trumper" Lisa Murkowski back to the Senate. Both had opponents endorsed by Trump. Murkowski was the only R senator to vote to convict Trump during the impeachment.
  18. That's not the half of it. You CAN'T make this shit up. ""We're not prepared. We're not ready right now. What we need to do is keep having those gas-guzzling cars, 'cause we got the good emissions under those cars. We're doing the best thing that we can." ""We in America have some of the cleanest air and cleanest water of anybody in the world, so what we are going to do is put, from the Green New Deal, millions, billions of dollars cleaning our good air up. So all of the sudden China and India, they put nothing to clean that situation up. Since we don't control the air, our good air decides to float over to China's bad air. So when China gets our good air, their bad air got to move. So it moves over to our good airspace. Then, now, we got to clean that back up." https://news.yahoo.com/herschel-walker-us-should-keep-gas-guzzling-cars-that-produce-good-emissions-201506600.html

  20. Well, as they say: "Grifters gonna grift". Opportunistic predators trying to cash in on the 'anti-Woke' idiots. When it's selling stupid clothes on FB, or soliciting donations from the gullible, it's one thing. But when it's a highly regulated industry like banking, it's not quite as easy. I'll guess that the ringleaders didn't lose a dime. Just the fools who invested.
  21. Candace Owens as 'spokes-creature' and 'ground floor co-founder' sure worked out well. She's often called 'Can-death' on the HCA site. Her memes are quite common among nominees & awardees.
  22. Hey, that 'bunch of gays' was FAAAAAR more effective at stopping the shooter than the ENTIRE Uvlade SWAT team.
  23. So that's one less "R" vote on any given issue. Is she also going to abstain on any committee votes? I guess I don't have an issue with this fool not being part of any decision making. It would be nice if she didn't get paid for not doing her job, but that's probably not how it works. Besides, voting is only one part of the job.
  24. There should be a data label on the harness that will give you the Date of Manufacture (DoM). There should also be a packing data card that will have DoM for both the harness/container and the canopy. The card will also have the repack history. This is going to be an 'emergency bailout' rig, not a sport rig. Something the pilot of a jump plane or aerobatic plane would wear. Very likely has zero jumps on it. Depending on a few things, it may be useable. Or maybe not. There's a whole lot of discussion and debate about the 'lifespan' of a rig. Some of it is based on facts, some on opinion, some on liability. Are you looking to actually use it? Or more to sell it/give it to someone who can?
